The purpose of this research was to find out consumers’ preferred type of body scanner using the Technology Acceptance Model. The investigated technologies were a traditional body scanner, a suit-based scanner, and a mobile-based scanner. TAM was utilized to determine consumers’ adoption behavior in terms of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use among the three scanners. Moreover, the effect of gender was assessed. An online survey was conducted to see which scanners were preferred. 220 responses were collected. The participants felt the mobile-based scanner was easier and more convenient to use than the traditional scanner (P =0.001). This difference may be due to the relative comfort of most consumers with mobile technology today. There was also a significant difference in preference between the genders for adopting the mobile-based scanner. Men preferred this technology.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116819977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the study, a survey about pants purchasing preferences and fitting problems and 3D body scanning system to obtain the body data were adopted to the female college student in Hangzhou, China. A fitted pant was created in 3D design software (CLO 5.0) which is refer to the body size from 71 samples, to find the size difference by compared with the prototype produced by the basic structure method. It was found that the young female was underweight and the proportion of Y body type was higher than the Chinese National Standard Size system. It proved that the waist, hip, abdominal, and thigh were the main factors influencing their body shape and fitting. Solutions to provide good fit may include creating sizing for a subset of young Chinese female consumers and developing custom-fit methods.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116890887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

American universities are creating their own tartan designs and marketing university branded apparel and other merchandise that incorporates that tartan pattern into the product design. University branded, tartan products are significant because they provide opportunities for university stakeholders such as faculty, staff, students, and alumni to express their school pride and affiliation. This study is unique because it adds to the body of scholarly knowledge related to university designed tartans.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117287125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs), which transform themselves and return to their original shape by temperature changes, have been integrated into the development of wearable device actuation. In this study, we have successfully developed a 4D knitting grip assist glove that can assist grip to people with weak finger strength as much as 8 times in the curvature ratio. Further, we developed a soft gripper that can grip soft objects that are typically difficult to grip with existing robot-type machines. This study demonstrated the application potential of SMAs in wearable assistive devices that could be worn or attached to the human body. The outcomes of this study recommend future research to assess user safety and performance enhancement of such wearable devices in real-world contexts.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116275884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible influence of perceived masculine film icons on criteria used to judge successful masculine identity performance in society. Using a netnographic approach, data retrieved from online threads were analyzed using the constant comparison method. Three prominent themes were identified: 1) Identifying masculine icons, 2) Defining masculinity, and 3) Seeking a new masculinity. Results indicate that masculine film icons have the potential to continually impact learning of social criteria for successful masculine identity performance.","PeriodicalId":129029,"journal":{"name":"Pivoting for the Pandemic","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114447702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
