Nitrogen-fixing Azotobacter bacteria, an important component of this ecosystem, are frequently isolated using various methods. The aim of the present study was to perform partial molecular characterization of non-Azotobacter isolates derived during two Azotobacter isolation protocols, as well as to determine which bacteria can be obtained using this method. A total of 800 isolates were acquired from soil samples collected from various pastures in Antalya province of Turkey, with 92 of them being molecularly characterized. These isolates were clustered through RFLP analysis of 16S rRNA gene and the DNA sequences of the isolates representing different groups were performed. According to these results, the bacteria belonging to various genera (Agrobacterium, Phyllobacterium, Variovorax, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Agromyces, and Arthrobacter) were identified. The results show that similar bacteria could be obtained through two isolation protocols used in this study. However, more diverse bacteria were encountered on the Brown-medium than on soil-past. Additionally, Delphinium venolusum, which is a similar species of Delphinium turcicum, was studied. Anatomic structure descriptions of these species and seed descriptions of Delphinium turcicum were given for the first time in this work. In addition, the comparison of these species contributes to the solution of taxonomic problems. Features of anatomic structures (root, stem, and leaf sections) were shown. Also, these structures were discussed taxonomic significance. The similarities and differences between D. turcicum and D. venulosum were revealed in this study. In palynological investigations; polar, equatorial, exine, intine, colpus length and width were measured. Polar/Equatorial (P/E) ratio and pollen ornamentation were determined. The pollen grains of these two species are spherical and isopolar symmetrical. Pollen types have determined as monad for D. turcicum and D. venulosum species. Pollen aperture types are tricolpate. Pollen exine ornamentations are microechinate. In this work photographs of pollen and seed were taken by using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Seed micromorphological characteristics were given for both species. Seeds are subglobose and have continuous rings of transversal squamulose for both species. Seed ornamentations have continuous rings of transversal squamulose and generally erect papillae.","PeriodicalId":127990,"journal":{"name":"Biological Diversity and Conservation","volume":"389 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139340856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Human beings have always made changes in the environment they live in to meet their nutritional and shelter needs. These changes have affected the habitat in the region over time, causing both flora and fauna to change and have affected the level of biodiversity. In order to understand this change, pollen records from past periods are valuable archives of vegetation dynamics and provide important information about vegetation. In this study, pollen belonging to the ancient period was investigated from the wells drilled in Göbekli Tepe, which is described as the \"zero point of history\". The pollen analyzes obtained from the samples in the 1st well between 6 meters and 7-7.5 meters were approximately B.C. It covers the years 11126 and 13354. The pollen analyzes made at 6, 10, 12 meters in the samples in the 3rd well were B.C. It reflects the changes in vegetation and climate between 10634-12418. Although individuals belonging to Quercus, Salix, Juglans, Abies, Pinus and Juniperus species of forest vegetation were encountered in Ancient Göbekli Tepe, no individuals belonging to these tree species were encountered today. In this study, data were obtained supporting that the region was forest-steppe in the past, and the presence of forest-forming taxa Juglans, Abies, Pinus, and Juniperus was determined for the first time and the vegetation of the past period was made more evident. Deforestation is a serious occurrence that damages the ecosystem permanently, reduces biodiversity, and interferes with an entire ecological niche's capacity to function. Evidence on the causes and impacts of vehicle mobility in a forest reserve area is provided by the present research. Animal mortality was shown to be higher during the lockdown with traffic relaxation and somewhat lower during the lockdown without relaxation. The present study shows how unregulated automobile access into the Mannur Protected Forest results in significant faunal fatalities. The state has to be persuaded to exclusively adopt Good Environmental Practices (GEP) while constructing roads through the forest, and the appropriate authorities must keep an eye on the movement of automobiles through the remote forest zone.","PeriodicalId":127990,"journal":{"name":"Biological Diversity and Conservation","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139342859","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Çalışma 2019-2022 yılları arasında Türkiye'nin farklı coğrafik bölgelerinden seçilen 15 ilde yürütülmüş ve 120 kaynak kişiyle yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, 32 familyaya ait 69 bitki taksonunun süpürge yapımında kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Süpürge olarak kullanılan bitkilerin çoğunluğu Asteraceae familyasından (8 takson) olup bunu Amaranthaceae (6 takson) ve Fabaceae (6 takson) familyaları takip etmektedir. Yerel halkın süpürge olarak en çok kullandığı bitkiler; Bassia scoparia (Ateştopu), Artemisia scoparia (Karasüpürge), Erica arborea (Funda), Spartium junceum (Katırtırnağı), Hypericum empetrifolium (Çobanyaprağı), Phillyrea latifolia (Akçakesme), Sorghum bicolor (Süpürgedarısı), Sorghum halepense (Ekinsüpürgesi) ve Osyris alba (Morcak) olduğu gözlenmiştir. Yerel halkın bitkilerden yapılan süpürgeleri daha çok evlerin avlu ve bahçelerini temizlemek amacıyla kullandığı (49 takson), bunu ahır (3 takson) ve fırın (3 takson) temizliği için kullanılan süpürgelerin takip ettiği görülmüştür. Süpürge yapımında bitkilerin daha çok toprak üstü (38 takson) kısımlarının kullanıldığı; bunu, dallar (19 takson), tüm bitki (7 takson), püskül ( 2 takson) ve filiz (2 takson) kısımlarının takip ettiği belirlenmiştir. Eskiye oranla talep azlığına düşen bitkilerden yapılan doğal süpürgeler şehir hayatında en çok avlu, balkon ve bahçelerde kullanılan bir araç olarak kullanımını kısmen sürdürebilmektedir. Bununla birlikte kırsal mahallelerde çok farklı bitki türlerinden yapılan doğal süpürgelerin halen kullanıldığı da görülmektedir.","PeriodicalId":127990,"journal":{"name":"Biological Diversity and Conservation","volume":"26 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139347260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of climate crisis and climate change scientific studies. Bibliometric analyses give an in-depth assessment of the literature's publications on the subject, the identification of scientific research trends on the subject, the evaluation of researcher collaboration, and the evaluation of significant issues. The study is qualitative research, and a bibliometric research method was used. The research data was first accessed on 04 August 2022 (Time: 14:34) from the \"Web of Science\" database as an online search. However, some data were revised on 18 July 2023 (Time: 15:00) using the same database in order to include up-to-date data in the study. The obtained data were transferred to VOSviewer software and analyzed. According to the survey, climate-related articles most used keywords include climate change, climate crisis, sustainability, environment, climate justice, and Anthropocene. Most of the studied papers are from many disciplines, such as environmental sciences, meteorology atmospheric studies, ecology, geosciences multidisciplinary, and environmental studies. When the publications on climate catastrophe are examined by country, the most cited countries are England, Canada, United States, Sweden, and Norway. As a result, international scientific collaboration and data exchange are critical for a successful battle against climate change and the climate crisis.
