The importance of it applies to handwriting recognition problem, too. Distinctive features result in higher accuracy recognition of characters, or words. Therefore, it is crucial to be able to extract relevant and distinctive features from the image. In this study, we compare different feature extraction techniques for Hungarian handwriting recognition purpose. In order to be able to compare the techniques, the output of feature extraction phase is classifier using three classifiers namely, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Rough Sets Theory (RST) and Bayesian Networks (BN) using the WEKA machine learning tool. The results indicated that, the best classification results were retrieved using features calculated by the distribution of points in the image. However, it can be said that the combinations of different feature extraction types provide a greater deal of distinctiveness.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"183 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121492991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The techno-economic assessment is complemented by monetizing the environmental impacts and the influence of the technology choices on human health. Among the technology options, also long-distance heating from Paks Nuclear District Heating has been considered and evaluated. The methodology is based on monthly heat demand profiles while distinguishing between three typological groups of buildings and optimizing the set and installed capacity of heating technologies for each of these groups. Our assessment shows that the resulting optimal heat supply portfolio is influenced both by the factors involved in the optimization and the types of buildings.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133108884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditionally, this problem is solved using graph traversal algorithms, ranging from backtracking and A* to monte-carlo tree search approaches. In this case, we present a novel approach to describing a backtracking algorithm using K modal logic. Modal logic is a powerful way of representing statements that involve some linguistic modalities, e.g. “neces-sary”, “possible”, “was”, “will be”, “permitted”, “forbidden”, etc. This gives new ways to model typical decision making problems. For this purpose, we developed a novel framework called LogicToolbox. We employ this tool in modelling and solving maze problem as an example of a decision making process. We chose to translate a well-known backtracking algorithm to present the expressiveness of the language of modal logic, while proving that solving backtracking as a modal logic problem is equivalent to the backtracking algorithm itself.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120967523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hart [5]) the researchers started to take interest (focus) in developing a link between energetic signatures and household devices. In the ideal case, the main objective of the signature is to uniquely identify a device. One important characteristic of the signature is to be as compact as possible. In the present context, this paper proposes to use analytic expressions in form of transcendent function as signature for devices from the same consumption category: laptop, LCD-TV, washing machine, air conditioner. The paper presents a method to determine a signature based on the tangent function and genetic algorithm. Two case studies are shown. They will prove that it is possible to obtain an individual signature for household devices, and separate them from a common consumption.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124351233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Older people have a more limited exercise capacity. Therefore, there is a need for compensating with service packages ancillary to pension systems. In the absence of these services, the right of free access to justice can become formal and illusory for pensioners. The paper describes a model of organizational management system, in the form of an auxiliary service offered to pensioners, based on a practical situation of similar litigations, extracted from jurisprudence.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125052134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The techniques are useful because the control structure with state feedback does not assure reduced settling times, phase margins of 60° (or smaller) and a zero steady-state control error. The Modulus Optimum method (MO-m) is applied to initially tune the parameters of the continous-time controllers and the backwards difference method is used for discretizing these parameters. A set of digital and experimental results for the position control systems using the proposed and developed control solutions validate the suggested techniques. A comparative analysis of the three proposed control structures is also given in order to highlight how the specified control system performance was achieved.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116446592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
