The classical approach for user authentication is the username and password pair, which is known to be vulnerable to leaks created by various attack techniques (phishing, keystroke logger, web server database breaking, etc.). The main solution for this has been One Time Passwords, but they have the general disadvantage of needing additional specialized devices, that the user has to use and manage. New solutions have been lately proposed that use QR codes to distribute the authentication process between the computer, the smart phone of the user and the server to which she/he needs to authenticate. This paper makes a step further in distributing the authentication, by proposing the use of cloud cryptography in the process, thus relieving the smart phone from the burden of private key management and of performing high cost cryptographic operations. The paper describes the proposition through a proof-of-concept which is analyzed from the point of view of the advantages thus obtained.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117086031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Existing robust low level (speed, steering, brake, suspension etc.) control components are available in cars which can be influenced using the outputs of the kinematic control as reference signals. If problems arise then the driver can modify the internal control based on the visual information of the path and the observed car motion. In case of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) this modification is no more evident. In the paper an approach is presented to estimate the errors in real UGV situations where the road-tire contacts generate special sliding effects in the dynamic behavior of the UGV. These effects are considered as disturbances and are involved in both the kinematic and dynamic models. The novelty of the paper is the result that kinematic control based approaches can cause lateral errors in the order of 1m. In the experiments two type of low level dynamic controls were considered: i) a simplified one using the steering angle of kinematic control, and ii) nonlinear input-output linearization. Both can supply the sliding angle information for the kinematic control.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115569565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several solutions have been used to overcome the different requirements for IoT applications based on already existing technologies e.g.: cellular networks, RFID, etc., whilst giving rise to a technology called dedicated IoT networks (SigFox, LoRa, Weightless Ingenu, etc.). Also, IoT usage area has been increased from smart grid networks to smart cities, healthcare or smart wear usage and even to IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications. Nowadays the usage capabilities can hardly be localized with boundaries always newer and newer ideas are coming. This paper gives some hint why new technologies are evolved, what are their limitations with also giving an insight of the most prevalent security vulnerabilities for IoT networks and the analysis for the above-mentioned technologies respect to them.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128548590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A simple method of receiving proportional, integral, and differential gain of the parallel PID controller based on gain margin is presented in this paper. The results of the suggested method of projecting PID for the desired faster or slower close-loop system response are shown through simulation. The performances of the received close-loop system have been, via simulation, compared with the performances of the other received methods of projecting the PID controller both for the set-point response and for the disturbance response. The received values for IAE and ISE, settling and rise time, indicate that the suggested methods provide better results.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124455938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Understanding the conformational transitions of proteins may help identifying situations when incorrect folding or mutations can occur and thus, it may contribute to inhibit possible uncontrolled behaviour. In this paper we are performing a study on how different protein representations impact the process of mining relevant patterns from protein related data. Two representations are used for the proteins, one using the structural alphabet and the second using the relative solvent accessibility values of the amino acids from the proteins' primary structure. Using these representations, two case studies are performed to emphasize the effectiveness of using the proposed protein representations to unsupervisedly learn structural patterns from on a protein data set.","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114800936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is one of the main parameters determining technical viability and practical applicability of such structures. For this reason, it is necessary to pay close attention to its shape, size and reach of the end effector. There are a number of options in the construction of modular systems, and it is these options, that our paper examines. Through simulation, the authors analyze impacts of structural parameters on the resulting workspace of a homogeneous, modular, serial kinematic structure with 5DOF (Degrees of Freedom).","PeriodicalId":126087,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 12th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"16 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130618184","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Internet of Things had a very big impact on the technology as we know today. One important aspect, not yet standardized, is the way in which objects connect to the network in order to function together. In particular, in medical domain, the Internet of Things faces a high number of technical limitations, most of them related to the electromagnetic emissions.
