In order to face these requirements companies should include continuous changeover in their production systems. New software paradigms applied in factory automation promise to bring the openness, flexibility and scalability required in the reconfiguration of production lines. Modularization in devices, machines and cells facilitates physical changes; current modular control software such as function blocks from the standard IEC 61499 has not yet fulfilled the expectations of industrial control developers. This work describes the enhancement of the Automation Object reference model with semantics provided by the Web ontology language OWL. The AO reference model is still a draft document promoted by IEC TG65 which promises standardize the software and hardware models description of devices.","PeriodicalId":120426,"journal":{"name":"2006 4th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115878931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Grid, as a pool of computing resources, solves the problem in some degree by providing an integrated computing and resources environment. Thus, there emerge many strategies related to grid resource allocation management (GRAM). However, almost all of these strategies focus on how to allocate the existing computing resources but overlook the possibility of controlling these resources. Therefore, services and computing nodes are always tightly coupled. In this paper, we describe a new framework called GSAF (a grid-based services transfer framework) to solve the problem. GSAF binds services and computing nodes dynamically through services migration and service cache to break the tight coupling. The migration of service components to more efficient computing nodes helps balance the processing burden and extends the computing abilities. In our experiment, we provide a prototype application of GSAF in the data mining system to demonstrate it.","PeriodicalId":120426,"journal":{"name":"2006 4th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130279603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Developers typically try to use an approach that resembles their previous programming experience, and this can result in the new features of IEC 61499 to be overlooked. Even when designers are able to turn out working software, the various components are often incompatible because they incorporate diverse design principles. This paper develops a new, economic solution to this problem that will be useful in a range of cost sensitive applications. The paper starts by identifying the properties of an inter-microprocessor communications system that adds minimal cost to a product and enables the use of lower price microprocessors. This leads us to introduce a new category of communications called time independent asynchronous (TIA) communications. An economic 2-wire TIA communications protocol is developed and described using timing diagrams. This protocol is implemented with performance evaluation including data throughput. Simulation is used to examine livelock and deadlock properties.","PeriodicalId":120426,"journal":{"name":"2006 4th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115632970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the industrial environments are not taken into consideration in the design of those standards, because its harsh constraints has specific characteristics (reliability, interferences with existing equipments, multi-path propagation, low-power consumption, real-time reconfiguration, security...) that need specific requirements and eventually standards. This paper will present the scope of the wireless technologies from a technical perspective, the constraints that the industrial environment imply on wireless networks and namely on the radio transmission, finally giving axes of solutions and elements of the current deployments if wireless technologies in EDF (Electricite de France). The system consists of two subsystems; soccer gait pattern classification and soccer gait pattern recognition. This article describes the key features and phases involved in these two subsystems. During the pattern classification, knowledge base is formed using gait analysis system already developed. Elman neural networks (ENN) is used to perform the pattern classification of a soccer gait. Pattern recognition is based on real time soccer play which in turn recognizes soccer gait. The system developed is also responsible to enrich the knowledge base by the inclusion of newly performed soccer gait patterns and by the rejection of gait patterns not any more performed. The prototype developed is capable of recognizing movement patterns of a soccer player, which were not performed during previous training sessions. Although the pattern classification was carried with discreet movement patterns, the prototype was able to recognize these when they occurred in combination, as would happen in a real soccer game.","PeriodicalId":120426,"journal":{"name":"2006 4th IEEE International Conference on Industrial Informatics","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114763550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intensity parameters Ωt (t=2,4,6), the radiative rates, the branching ratios and the fluorescence lifetimes were calculated for Er based on the experimental absorption spectra and Judd-Ofelt theory.
