The technical performance of the systems was studied using the following performance indicators: system energy yield, capture loss, as well as the system performance ratio while the reliability of the systems was examined using a model developed from the findings from the maintenance and fault diagnosis of the systems. The model was used to predict the total failure and survival probability of the systems using the Weibull distribution. The performance evaluation during the monitored period (February 2012 to January 2015) indicated that the performance ratios of the systems vary from 70% to 89% and the energy yields of the systems ranging from 2.87 h/day to 5.57 h/day. The results from the reliability analysis also showed that when the stress concentration factor around the notch between the cable terminals in the charge controller increases, the charge controller will become overheated, which in turn affected other components of the systems. The implications of this study are also discussed for the design and development of future solar-powered street lighting systems.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132074885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Like many staple foods, wheat contain low concentration of iron (Fe). About two billion people globally have iron deficiency, especially in the regions where staple foods are based on cereal crops such as wheat. Because of high rate of Fe deficiency cases, increased Fe intake through staple food has become the main focused research area globally. As wheat is main source of protein and dietary energy for human beings, its potential to support reducing malnutrition related to Fe can be increased through producing genetically modified wheat varieties with high concentration of Fe. High Fe concentration in cereal crop is a major challenge. Even though during wheat is commonly fortify, promising and more long term solution is biofortification of wheat, which bases on the production of new wheat varieties with characteristically higher concentration of iron. Till now, may researches, which focused on increasing Fe in wheat, aimed at producing natural varieties in progenitor or related species. This review focused on the promising and sustainable approaching to maintain the improve concentration of iron in wheat.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116060756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Type 1 diabetes or insulin dependent diabetes is characterised by deficient insulin production whereas type II or non-insulin dependent diabetes results from relative insulin deficiency and tissue insulin resistance. Traditionally in dentistry, diabetics are considered to have increased healing problems related to dental extractions, periodontal surgery and wearing ill-fitting dentures. They are also considered more likely to have infections. Although this may be so for poorly controlled Type 1 diabetics, there is only unreliable support for this view for Type 2 diabetics on oral hypoglycemics. In dentoalveolar surgery, diabetic patients could be expected to suffer various complications to those observed in other surgical procedures such as the most commonly seen is delayed wound healing. However, the oral environment with the forces of mastication, high bone turnover, high vascularity, saliva and the constant reservoir of microorganisms is active from other parts of the body, thereby making generalisations from other surgical sites limited. Difficulties with extractions are unpredictable. Having a thorough medical history prior to surgery will allow the surgeon to better deal with complications that may arise. Be certain to always follow proper surgical techniques, and know your limitations prior to beginning any extractions. If and when difficulties develop, it is always recommended to explain the situation to the patient.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131096257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ethylene glycol was used as a reducing agent for the preparation of metal particles at room temperature. Ag +1 can be smoothly reduced to silver nanoparticles at ambient condition in PEG 400. UV-visible studies demonstrated that the reducing rate of Ag +1 to nano-Ag was remarkably enhanced with the increased amount of the PEG. The transmission microscope images prove that the reduced Ag nanoparticles were spherical in shape. The pathway described here was considered as a green route for preparation of silver nanoparticles.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129107697","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an emerging mosquito borne virus that is a (+) sense single-stranded RNA virus from the Flaviviridae virus family, Flavivirus genre and the Zika virus specie. Zika virus bears a complex genome and virion structure. Its reproductive cycle in host cell involves virion endocytosis that allows entrance into host cell. Zika virus infection gives symptoms that are usually mild and last for few days and infection can be easily transferred from infected mosquitoes, from a pregnant woman to her fetus, sexual intercourse, blood transfusion, and laboratory exposure. Several methods are made available for the diagnosis of this infection and several ways to prevent this infection such as elimination and control of mosquito, prevention of mosquito bites and public awareness about Zika and mosquitoes. No vaccines are available for treatment yet but common medications are advised for symptoms. The virus has been associated with fetal microcephaly in humans. Information is provided for the epidemiology of Zika virus to evaluate the level of risk for people who may be planning to travel to or are recently returning from areas with possible local transmission. In the African region this is done considering a number of factors and cases in the past. The rapid development of a safe and effective vaccine, genetically modified mosquitoes, use of bacteria, and other innovations are currently worked on to curb the spread of Zika virus.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124282673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The advancements in metagenomics level led to the need of metaproteomics approaches. Metaproteomics involve the identification, function and expression of various proteins present in microbial community, it also involves the identification and expression analysis of stress related proteins. The concepts of metaproteomics come with advancement in proteomics techniques which includes 2D gel electrophoresis for the identification of proteins and peptides in a particular microbial community. Mass spectrometry which is used to separate the proteins by desorption and ionization using a gas on a liquid medium. MALDI use for protein identification and separation, connected with TOF to give better results. The metaproteomics approaches become more advanced when HPLC and LC were used for peptides and protein with computational tools to sequence the peptide and protein. It is concluded that there is a requirement of research in metaproteomics. Many scientists have done research on these approaches but there is lack of better quality and desirable results.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116358617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the population growth, there is a tremendous pressure on the existing fresh water resources such as surface water and ground water. Increasing water demand and improper usage of potable water lead to scarcity of fresh water resources. Globally, treating grey water is a real constraint to minimize the problem of water scarcity. The continuous flow-based constructed wetland system for grey water treatment is a technique for reusing the domestic grey water and it is a low-cost method. The current study was aimed to evolve a suitable user-friendly treatment system for handling the household grey water. In the present study, grey water has been collected from the Bharathidasan University and it has been treated with biofiltration and rhizhodegradation techniques using continuous flow-based constructed wetland system. The system has been found as more effective for treating the Physico-chemical parameters such as suspended solids, pH, electrical conductivity, TS, TDS, DO, BOD, COD, TOC, CO 3, HCO 3, SO 4 , NO 3 , PO 4 , Ca, Mg, Na, K, total hardness, calcium hardness, chloride, and total alkalinity. The results reported the reduction in the biological oxygen demand (89%), chemical oxygen demand (81%), DO (95%), carbonate (100%), sodium (65%), and potassium (85%).It also examined the benefits and risks associated with the results in the reuse of domestic grey water for the purpose of vegetable gardening, irrigation, and toilet flushing. Consequently, this biofiltration method is natural, simple, and low cost-effective treatment in a holistic manner.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121255868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
