Much research has been devoted to the problem of language situation in Ukraine. But in this study it has been analyzed on the basis of the newest sociolinguistic survey in 2022. The article “Language and national identity bilingual (on the basis of the 2022 survey)” deals with the problem of Ukrainians’ attitude to the Ukrainian and Russian languages and their identity.\u0000Purpose. The purpose of this paper is to identify the attitude of Ukrainians to the language problems after the war and analyze their thoughts on the Ukrainian and Russian identity and usage Languages within bilingual population. Methods. The research was conducted by analyzing the results of surveys that were distributed among 2005 respondents across the whole country, except for the territories that are out of control of Ukrainian government.\u0000Results. Political processes shape the relevant discourses, which, in turn, has an impact on linguistic and national identification. People increasingly call themselves Ukrainians precisely because they live in Ukraine, regardless of their origin, and transfer this civic identity to the category of nationality, which has traditionally been ethnic. The bloody war, which was started by the aggressor-country in Ukraine, influenced the choice of language and national identity of Ukrainians. The results of the survey have shown that bilingualism exist in Ukraine. However, the main problem is that most people do not understand the nature of not only language conflicts but also the political ones. The paper considers the fact that now people do not resist the legislative consolidation of various provisions regarding the Ukrainian language. So the task of Ukrainian language policy is to increase the amount of the Ukrainian language. We can conclude that the Ukrainian language will become the main one in all spheres of communication in the future if society and government understand the essence of language problems and try to force out the Russian language of formal and informal communication. Ukrainians associate the Russian language with the language of the attackers and consider it “toxic”, consciously choosing Ukrainian as their language of communication. As a result, Ukrainian will replace it as it must be the state language. Extralinguistic factors led to changes in the language situation in the country, where the overwhelming majority already understands the need to speak Ukrainian. Axiological and emotional components in the definition of national identity have led to a decline in the status of the Russian language and its low level of influence on the national identification of bilingual citizens of Ukraine.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The main direction of the research was chosen to be linguo-pragmatic, which led to the identification of the main strategies of the communicative behavior of the presenter of the TV program and his interaction with the TV viewers. The linguistic-pragmatic principles of the study of communicative strategies and tacts in modern linguistics are defined, the main problems are outlined and typologies of strategies relevant specifically for the televised tourism discourse are proposed. The specifics of the speech behavior of the presenter of the TV program are considered and the presentation, informational, argumentative and game strategies are characterized. The tactics of identification, solidarity, self-presentation, criticism and intrigue were analyzed within the framework of the presentation strategy. It is proved that the information strategy is directed at presenting actual, verified information of a local history nature to the addressees and is presented by descriptive and characterological tactics. It was determined that the argumentative strategy is based on logical reasoning and evidence and is represented by the tactics of verbalizing logical reasoning, evaluation, and explanation. The game strategy is considered as an actualization of the presenter’s linguistic creative activity and the language means of implementing the language game are outlined.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The purpose of our article is to understand the place and significance of the scientific heritage of O. I. Bondar in modern linguistics. The object of observation is the scientific creativity of the professor. The subject of study is the problem of his linguistic development. The source base for our observation was the scientific heritage of the linguist. We set ourselves the following tasks: to reveal the problems of Professor Bondar’s scientific works; determine the specifics of his scientific activity; describe fragments of the ideological space of the linguist’s scientific discourse. The work uses such general scientific methods of research as analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, observation, thematic and ideologue portraiture of the scientist’s personality. It was found that O. I. Bondar actively worked in such scientific areas as: history of the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian dialectology, word-form, syntax, lexicography, functional grammar, phonology, lexicology, terminology, linguistic ecology, Ukrainian orthography, text linguistics, sociolinguistics, general linguistics, Slavic studies, Japanese studies, comparison of Ukrainian and Japanese languages, translation studies, computer linguistics etc. Among them is linguistic ecology, a comparative analysis of the Ukrainian and Japanese languages, the study of which the scientist initiated himself. Knowledge of languages, non-standard thinking of a scientist and the desire to learn new things, not only in the field of his specialty, but also far beyond it – all this served as the basis on which the research self of Professor Bondar was formed. The article focuses attention on the innovative views of O. I. Bondar: the question of studying the category of temporality in the Ukrainian language is considered; the problem related to determining the time of emergence of the Ukrainian language; the quantitative composition of phonemes in the modern Ukrainian language and the degree of phonemicity of phonemes are substantiated; the theory of language as humanitarian capital; the issue of language as the main ethnic- forming factor for Ukrainians is highlighted. Conclusions. The ideological space of the researcher’s scientific works is based on the desire to study the language and its diverse phenomena as an integral dynamic object that is in close relationship with all other realities of human existence. Hence the multi-vector nature of the linguist’s works. Scientific work of O. I. Bondar, in particular the research perspectives outlined by him, his unusual “optics” of scientific observations, peculiar methods of studying linguistic phenomena, are the source of the further development of many areas of linguistic science.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The relevance of the research lies in the fact that in modern linguistics there is a lack of research devoted to historical allusions in artistic texts, in particular, in texts belonging to fantasy discourse. The purpose of the article is to analyze universal precedent and national precedent chrononyms, chronotoponyms and chronoanthroponyms, to characterize their functions. It was determined that the main functions of historical allusions in fantasy texts are evaluative and characteristic, occasional, aesthetic, the function of figurative characterization, and the function of creating irony. The term «oneirofactonym» is proposed to denote a one-time event that occurred in a dream and affected people’s activities, as well as the term «chronoanthroponym» as an example of transonymization – metamorphosis, during which the onym moves from one category to another. The prospects of the research consist in the expansion of the actual material for analysis due to the involvement of German-language and English-language fantasy texts.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The purpose of the research is to identify speech features on the material used by the writers of allocutions, which express, according to the author’s idea, a certain social status of a person in the Western Ukrainian society of the end of the 19th century, and to determine the tendencies to function according to socially established features of allocutions of certain emotions in the pictures of the world of speakers. The object of study is the constructions of allocutions, which are presented by the author of the story “Human”. The subject of the research is socio-emotional correlations in these constructions in the fiction text. In addition to the descriptive method, sociolinguistic, linguistic, cultural, semantic, cognitive, and syntactic analysis procedures were used in the research process, as well as continuous sampling. Conclusions. A change in emotional code of allocutions occurs in situations, firstly, when a person’s status relations change in relation to their interlocutor (Olena and Fels), and secondly, when a socially homogeneous circle discovers a violator of status foundations among its members (the association of advisers and forest adviser Epaminondas Liaufler, a violator of conservative gender principles regarding women’s independence).","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The aim of the research is to develop a typology of discourses mediated by electronic devices. For this purpose, the specified types of discourses were distinguished and interpreted on the basis of the works of Ukrainian and Spanish-speaking scientists; the differences between virtual, Internet, online, computer, computer-mediated, electronic, social network and network discourses are clarified; discourse of social networking sites is interpreted as a speech representation of a communicative act that was implemented in social networking sites; a typology relevant for the Ukrainian and Spanish terminological systems has been developed. We believe that the term “electronic discourse” is a hyperonym that unites all the above types of discourse. In view of this, the following hierarchy (from hyperonym to hyponym) seems correct: electronic discourse, computer discourse (synonym: computer-mediated discourse), virtual discourse, Internet discourse, (synonym: online discourse), discourse of social networking sites (synonyms: discourse of social networks, social network discourse). The hierarchy of Spanish-language terminological compounds is similar. Unlike Ukrainian scientists, Spanish-speaking researchers mostly do not distinguish the discourse of social networking sites as a separate type of discourse. However, we suggest adding to the Spanish term system the concept of “discurso de las redes sociales” (discourse of social networking sites), since communication in social networks has become an integral part of the life of a modern person, and social networks themselves are a unique platform for communication on the Internet and the subject of research by many scientists. We consider further thorough research of the communicative space of social networking sites to be promising.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald. The category of expressiveness is characterized and the main groups of expressive vocabulary in the literary text are defined. Vulgarism used with the aim of creating outrage and powerful influence on the consciousness of the addressee is considered. Exoticisms, subordinate functions of “mixing” of Ukrainian and foreign lexemes, elimination of borders between languages, actualization of interlinguistic and intercultural interaction are analyzed. It is proven that the addressee demonstrates a desire to communicate with such a reader for whom there are no linguistic boundaries, who easily perceives changes in the language code, knows the main European languages and is able to understand a multilingual narrator. Jargonisms indicating the use of elements of the lexical subsystems of certain social groups and covering criminal, military, youth and urban jargon are analyzed. It is substantiated that in character speech, jargonisms mark the speech, indicating the appropriate social status of the speaker, and in the author’s speech, they are subordinate to the author’s intention and express the category of expressiveness. Dialectisms, in particular lexical ones, are presented as such, which in modern prose mark the author’s speech according to the region where the author comes from or in which the described events take place.","PeriodicalId":113251,"journal":{"name":"Odessa National University Herald.
