Abstract
The article describes the results of the study of the peculiarities of the combination of social and emotional characteristics of communicators, who are artistic characters, in allocutions based on the story of Olga Kobylyanska “The Human” (1891). The purpose of the research is to identify speech features on the material used by the writers of allocutions, which express, according to the author’s idea, a certain social status of a person in the Western Ukrainian society of the end of the 19th century, and to determine the tendencies to function according to socially established features of allocutions of certain emotions in the pictures of the world of speakers. The object of study is the constructions of allocutions, which are presented by the author of the story “Human”. The subject of the research is socio-emotional correlations in these constructions in the fiction text. In addition to the descriptive method, sociolinguistic, linguistic, cultural, semantic, cognitive, and syntactic analysis procedures were used in the research process, as well as continuous sampling. Conclusions. A change in emotional code of allocutions occurs in situations, firstly, when a person’s status relations change in relation to their interlocutor (Olena and Fels), and secondly, when a socially homogeneous circle discovers a violator of status foundations among its members (the association of advisers and forest adviser Epaminondas Liaufler, a violator of conservative gender principles regarding women’s independence).
