Thus, water transfers are usually carried out between reservoirs having surplus water toward deficitary reservoirs. Therefore, operating rules for managing those complex systems must taking into account satisfaction of local demand for donor reservoirs, then ensure an optimal water transfer that helps to cover demands in deficitary areas, all in avoiding unnecessary water spills. In view of this, the return to optimization methods is essential in order to elaborate an optimal model allowing to achieve all these objectives. This paper presents an overview of optimizing multi-reservoir operating rules in IBWT system using the heuristic Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The main aim of this study is to develop a Simulation-Optimization model in order to optimize operation of North-to-South Inter-Basin Water Transfer (NS-IBWT) project in Morocco.","PeriodicalId":109940,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115505322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a context of increased competition, education programs and outcomes need to be aligned to the workplace requirements. For this reason, engineering schools must maintain an effective communication with the professional world in order to identify and develop the required skills. This study aims at describing Moroccan job market demand for engineering soft skills. For this purpose, we have adopted a sequential exploratory design that integrates qualitative and quantitative research approaches. A qualitative phase was introduced in our previous study. It is used to identify the key soft skills required in international and national engineering education by studying accreditation standards and educational syllabus. In this paper we describe the quantitative phase that aims at determining the importance of the identified soft skills in the Moroccan labor market by analyzing engineering job ads. After conducting the reliability test using Cronbach's alpha, we have analyzed the content of 163 engineering job offers collected from Moroccan job websites. Our results reveal that efficiency, initiative, and autonomy are the most needed personal skills in engineering jobs. We also find that the most needed interpersonal skills are negotiation, English communication, French communication and team working. Project management and team management are the most needed managerial skills. Moroccan engineers must also develop innovation, technology, professional and ethical skills in order to meet job market demand. The results of this study will be beneficial for engineering education institutions to improve their curriculums and educational strategies.","PeriodicalId":109940,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128219302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, the manufacturing domain which presents several manifestations of transformations of materials to products. Thus, the design of each of the production flow, the movement flow and the information flow present a key of improvement capabilities. Business process identifies those different flows. Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is an industry standard for modelling business processes. BPMN can be used by all stakeholders involved in business processes. Consequently, BPMN creates a standardized bridge between business process design and implementation.This standard is not being applied to the manufacturing process so far. In this work, the aim is to propose BPMN extension to support process modelling in this field.","PeriodicalId":109940,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133383956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The orientation of the rotor flux provides a linear and decoupled control for optimal torque. After a study and modeling of the DFIM and PWM inverter, the implementation of the proposed control on the Matlab/Simulink environment is developed. The analysis of the simulation results of the present control approach clearly shows that the system perfectly follows the reference values and, consequently, provides good dynamic and static performance of the machine under study.","PeriodicalId":109940,"journal":{"name":"2019 5th International Conference on Optimization and Applications (ICOA)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132893919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
