The mathematical equations for numerical computation of these pairs are provided by free body diagrams that require some foot force measurements and joint/segment-tilt angle measurements as well. In this study, a device has been developed to capture the foot force and the ankle, knee and hip joint angles. The device is equipped with three accelerometers and six force sensitive resistors. The measured forces and angles are computed and next transferred to personal computer. The device is calibrated and then tested on a healthy volunteer. The test results show that the device may be used to provide valuable measurements to compute force distributions in lower extremity.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122218366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Proposed methodology involves, ANN approach for fast and accurate estimation of critical clearing time (CCT) values of credible faults occurring in the system, considering changes in the loading conditions and system topology. CCT is an important indicator that measures the transient stability of the system against critical contingencies. Offline trained ANNs can monitor online DSA without suffering from excessive computational burden of time domain simulations (TDS). Decision Trees are used as a feature selection tool to reduce the training time and ANN complexity, increasing the CCT estimation performance of the ANN applications studied in this work, Multi-Layer Perceptron, Radial Basis Neural Network, Generalized Regression Neural Network and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Systems. The proposed approach is applied to 16 generator-68 bus test system operating at various loading conditions and system topologies.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114975262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed topology employs less number of components. This structure consists of a single DC voltage source, several low-frequency transformers and switching devices. There are two switching devices in each module of the proposed structure and there is only a module with three power switches. However, in conventional cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters four switches are used in each module. The number of gate drivers are reduced respectively along with the switches which results in smaller size, lower cost, lower power consumption in driving circuits and higher efficiency. To verify the performance of the proposed structure, Simulation results carried out by PSCAD/EMTDC and a low-power experimental setup was used to test the converter in practice.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124429670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its high quality of output waveforms and high efficiency make it a powerful alternative to conventional two level converters. This paper gives an output waveform quality comparison of scalar PWM methods, used for M2C switching. It is found that output voltage characteristics are highly dependent on the PWM method used. Therefore, selection of the switching method is an important design issue in M2C studies. Comparison is based on Matlab generated switching pulse patterns and the results are validated by Simplorer based computer simulations.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"336 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122521759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a three-stage hierarchical approach for long-term electricity load forecasting. These stages are called yearly trend model (YTM), weekly trend model (WTM), and daily trend model (DTM). The first stage fits an appropriate function to data and extracts its yearly trend. The weekly and daily trends are then extracted using the Box-Jenkins method in WTM and DTM, respectively. For doing so, candidate trends are identified using auto correlation function (ACF) and partial auto correlation function (PACF) plots. Then, Akaike information criterion (AIC) and Schwarz information criterion (SIC) are used to select the best-fitted trends. The different behavior of weekends and night times is captured using dummy variables. The obtained yearly, weekly, and daily trends are finally used for electricity load forecasting.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124913337","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, using data mining techniques on the ship sailed data mining, screening, then use the processed data to establish economic sailing forecast model of the ocean-going vessels. The model synthetically considers the external natural variables which influence on the ocean-going sailing vessel and provides the economical way of sailing under the multi-variable natural weather conditions.
