The paper noted that the initial independence expectation that the post independence period would be linked with real economic freedom from oppression, and the people connected with public wealth, has continued to be a mirage. The paper articulates the point that the mainstream advocates’ believe in the principle of comparative advantage that has structured state economic behaviour and specialization of the roles of poor countries, rather, promotes western incursions in the critical sectors of development in sub-Saharan Africa. The paper argues that the continued reliance on external ideas, technology, and development policies imposes limits on the quest for sustainable development in sub-Saharan African countries. Finally, the paper delivers the thinking that sub-Saharan African countries should begin to make reasonable budgets for research and development(R&D) to enhance intellectual probity on development challenges, and for the creation of strategic socio-economic policies for sustainable development in Sub-Saharan African countries.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"2011 13","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132679120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our research question is: How does management integrate these new civic expectations in practice? Our abductive methodology covers 50 case studies of businesses, non-governmental organizations, public administrations and social movements. This paper presents the three approaches discovered illustrated by 13 case studies: 1) a Citizen-Inclusion approach, 2) a Citizen-Focus approach and 3) a Citizenship approach. A comparative analysis finds correlation of these three approaches with the 3 modern management models (Technical, Social and Traditional models) for the first two approaches. This leaves the Citizenship approach revealing a whole new management model: The Civic Management Model. We discuss the organizational and managerial implications of these new management practices on business strategies, adaptabilities, innovation and contribution.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133165553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such interactions entail a continuous interchange of explicit and tacit knowledge, resulting in organizational learning; with the attendant positive impact on organizational performance and competitiveness. Scholars have studied different aspects ofthis phenomenon. The current study, using data gathered from 135 ICT content providers based in Nairobi licensed by the Communication Authority of Kenya, adds to the repository of strategic management knowledge by providing empirical evidence showing that social networks have a mediating effect on the influence of tacit knowledge on organizational learning. Further, that organizational learning itself mediates the effect of tacit knowledge on competitive advantage.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115082463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study considered daily returns covering periods from 1 st May 2009 - 31 st July 2018. We find that even though the bond market volatility has increased relatively over time, it is less volatile as compared to the stocks. More so, bonds are still an effective diversification medium as a result of nonexistence of trend in the correlation between bond and stock and the ratio of the bond to the stock. We show that the trend in volatility for Ghana Domestic Bond (GDB) and stock markets are negatively significant. Furthermore, we document that the ARCH model can be used to predict future values in the domestic bond return series. However, it cannot be used to predict future values in the Ghana Foreign Bond (GFB) and Stock daily return series. F-test two (2012 and to GDB. in case stock is steep rise to declined between 2012 and 2017 (i.e., from to before again to about (2018).","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115591299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Around the related problems of export sophistication index, several methods of measuring export sophistication index have been developed from different perspectives in existing literature. In addition, empirical literature finds several factors that affect the export sophistication index, including human capital accumulation, FDI, institutional quality and financial development level.
