This paper investigates the supply side of the Italian civic crowdfunding market. By using a case study approach, the paper shows the fundamental role played by local public administration in promoting, selecting and financing projects searching for funds, and for driving the successful conclusion of such projects. Matched funding schemes are crucial for a positive conclusion. The study also sheds light on the operational features and business model of the crowdfunding platforms involved in civic initiatives.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125281945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It uses panel data for 56 major export destinations of Sri Lanka. Results show that importing country’s GDP and colonial relationship have positive impact on Sri Lanka’s exports. In addition, the difference between the factor endowments of Sri Lanka and importing country has a positive impact. However, the distance and trade resistance of the importing country have negative impact on Sri Lanka’s exports. Further, Sri Lanka’s actual exports have achieved only 15 per cent of its potential during the period 2000 to 2013. There is considerable differences in region-wise performance which shows that Sri Lanka has done considerably well in the traditional markets such as the US and EU but has fallen well short of its potential in the other regions.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"856 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114001966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically the research seeks to determine if private business schools and public business schools exhibit differing levels of market orientation toward students and if so, do differing levels affect perceived organizational performance. The business schools studied were all members of AACSB. AACSB member schools were chosen to study as they all have gone through rigorous examination from an outside agency and have demonstrated their high performance standards. 98 accounting department chairs responded to the survey. Of the 98 respondents, 39 were from private schools and 59 were from public schools. The manuscript details the data collection and analysis processes, the statistical findings, implications for business schools, and presents a call for additional research.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122616530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It aims at analyzing the sound accompanying the qalqala sounds [q, ṭ, b, ʤ, d] acoustically to see whether or not this sound has a vowel-like articulation. Therefore, an acoustic analysis has been conducted to the sound accompanying the qalqala sound together with the preceding and following vowels to give their acoustic features such as the amplitude (i.e. the intensity), the formant frequencies (F1 and F2) and the recurrence of waves at regular intervals. The main conclusions of the present research are: (a) the sound accompanying the qalqala sound is a vowel-like articulation (b) this vowel, in most cases, tends to be /ə/ and (c) the phenomenon of qalqala is of two levels, minimum and maximum.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122671728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional use of Entrepreneurial Orientation has been focused on explanations, such as those within natural science, combined with a conception of entrepreneurs as possessing exceptional traits, as heroic individuals: these perspectives are incorrect. This study proposes a critical process re-conceptualization of Entrepreneurial Orientation aimed at opportunity designing in uncertain contexts as well as (proto) organizational projects. The major contribution is a theoretical framework under a process perspective that brings together research fields that have been isolated for too long, focusing on the interplay between routines and artifacts (as rules), agency and structure, sense-making and decision-making. Using our framework, scholars may explore further entrepreneuring and organizing, unifying a highly disparate research domain centered on opportunity designing.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131616460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current research on circles focuses more on the benefits brought by circle identity to members, and less on the loss of circle membership in the workplace, as the insider’s work-related identity discrepancy due to the change of leadership. In the current research, based on affective event theory, we examined the extent to which negative emotions mediates the relationship between workrelated identity discrepancy and job engagement. With data collected from 578 employees in China, it showed that work-related identity discrepancy is associated with job engagement. Moreover, we found that negative emotions mediate the main effect. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.","PeriodicalId":108255,"journal":{"name":"International journal of business and social science","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128120938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
