The paper presents the linear regression as a method for verification and software adjustment of the digital output of hybrid and smart pressure transducers. The method consists in using the comparison regression line for determining the adjusting regression line and the adjustment factors of the digital output signal. The method is simple, efficient, considering all together the known and unknown influences which alter the measurements. A practical example for the verification and adjustment of a pressure transducer is presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115146042","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Energy management is supported by EMS-SCADA systems operated by TSO-s and by DMS-SCADA systems operated by DO-s. Such evolution of the generation installations are bringing more and more challenges for the systems stability purpose and therefore the usage of ancillary services becomes more and more critical. Like any specific service provided within the market, the ancillary services are looking for more and more accurate solution of measurement (metering) that would encourage the competition and increase the quality of such services. Traditionally it is not possible to measure the use of secondary reserve services with metrology based energy meters, because the measurement implies integration of energy over and under a set-point, which implies integration of a difference of power, algorithm which is not supported neither by existing metrology meters nor by any IEC standards for meters. The paper analyses the possibility of using the metrology based energy metering recorded with one minute load profiles, in order to calculate the increase and decrease active energy, for surplus respectively for deficit generation within the frequency-power secondary control. For comparison, it has been analyzed also the possibility of calculating these values based on recorded energies in the metrological meter using standard 15 minutes load-profiles.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129206497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was performed as part of a research program on modular systems for the propulsion of electrical light vehicles. The work includes the concept and design of the basic unit in that series, the theoretical analysis by numerical modeling and the assessment of rated data by testing the experimental model. Similar DC motors derived from the basic unit could be fabricated with the same technology, keeping unchanged as much as possible components designed for the basic unit. In our case, the derived units have the shape, structure and dimensions of the cross-section identical with the basic unit; power variation results basically by adjusting the length of the motor, i.e. by adding/eliminating laminations and adapting the stator's length. The paper shows practical ways for the numerical analysis of the magnetic field and motor's characteristics and for the rapid adjustment of the design to a new rated power.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124162777","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first objective of this study is to develop a structure model from the fabricated device by inverse modeling to be able to match simulated results with measured results. The second objective is to suggest modifications in the geometry and the doping concentration of the barrier layer (or supply) in order to optimize the DC parameters of the pHEMT, such as max intrinsic transconductance and threshold voltage. The DC characteristics of the pHEMT structure present a good matching between with the measured data and the simulated results. We show that the maximum transconductance could be optimized by 50% and a linear relation between the doping concentration of barrier layer and the threshold voltage.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126517295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The subsystem is the model of SRM (Switched Reluctance Motor), analyzed with the use of numerical method FEM (Finite Element Method). The paper focuses on potential of the GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) Tesla cards, which are made in a Fermi and Kepler technology to optimize computation time. The FEM is analyzed and possible accelerations of this method are emphasized. A bottleneck of the FEM is a necessity to solve LSE (Linear System of Equations), with very large and sparse matrices, which are results of PDEs (Partial Differential Equations) discretization process. This paper examines parallelism of the sparse matrices solvers on the high-end GPUs. Variations of the iterative CG (Conjugate Gradient) solver were analyzed, due to the CG is the iterative solver used in FEMM, freeware software package for 2D FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of EM (Electro-Mechanical) systems. The Conjugate-Gradient without preconditioner, CG with Jacobi preconditioner, CG with ilu0 preconditioner were analyzed. In parallel computations CULA tools routines for iterative solvers were used.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126143155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
