Abstract
A comparative analysis of three ferrofluid-based actuator models that use permanent magnets is performed. The criteria for comparison are the output force, the force density and the ratio force / total mass of the device. The results, obtained by numerical simulation, take into account the non-linearity of the ferrofluid.
