This oven allows for control over cooking time, cooking temperature, humidity and airflow. During research the oven is operated at desired constant temperature, humidity and airflow values, but the temperature and humidity values deviate from the desired values when disturbances occur, such as when raw product is brought into the oven. A fuzzy logic control system is developed on a Freescale 68HCS12 microcontroller to maintain constant temperature and humidity values and quickly recover from disturbances to the oven. A model of the oven is developed in Matlab to facilitate the testing and verification of the fuzzy logic controller.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-06-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125006003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The task of a SbW system is twofold: turning the steered wheels by tracking the handwheel rotation and providing the driver with a feeling of the steering effort. In this paper, the design of the control scheme for SbW systems is faced. Two schemes are considered: one is derived from the model of conventional steering equipment whilst the other one exploits the features of a SbW system to cope with the interaction of the steered wheels to the road surface. Implementation of the control schemes on a test vehicle is described and experimental results are given.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116007266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The inverter is based on the series connection between two inverter modules with different dc bus voltage. It is the fact of a hybrid control scheme that higher voltage devices and faster devices operate in synergism. Subharmonic PWM method is employed in lower voltage module. In the case of three carrier dispositions, mathematic models of the modulation process are constructed. The rigorous analytic solution is derived, which facilitates the evaluation of spectra accurately. Spectral characteristics of output waveforms including all operation conditions were studied. The proposed inverter is also verified by simulation to confirm the feasibility of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131591270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fault tolerant control (FTC) is attended to continue the system operation in the presence of several faults in order to remain the security of the system. Active fault tolerant control (AFTC) approach needs fault detection and isolation (FDI) algorithm to detect and identify the fault with minimum false alarm, missed alarm and time delay ... Only healthy components are used to reconfigure the control law of the system. RobuCar is particularly adapted to receive a fault tolerant module since it is composed of redundant components.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126129298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application of augmented reality (AR) can provide interactive systems in which real objects and computer data are combined in a cohesive way. This new paradigm has many potential applications in various fields, in particular in the maintenance domain. It allows the user to see computer generated virtual objects superimposed to the real world through the see-through head mounted display (HMD). The technician of maintenance, when using this system, can interact with the virtual world and have additional information, such as instruction for performing maintenance tasks in form of text messages, images, 3-D models of pieces or audio such as speech instruction. In this paper, we propose a design process of the maintenance system focused on the analysis of the interaction between the user, the system and the real world. This area is based on the UML notation. The use of UML represents our ergonomic and software design process basis for AR systems. This process also is based on ergonomic characteristics study within a UML system description and on the hybrid PAC-Amodeus model architecture adaptation for the AR systems.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122252609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And efficient and realistic animation constitutes important foundation of it. This paper proposes a new modeling and animation method of broad leaf plant. It shows how to use a physically based animation method to realistically model the 3D foliage of plant with thickness information and to emulate the movements of stem and foliage in wind. In order to achieve fast collision detection we propose a suitable non-hierarchical spatial decomposition structure combined with oriented bounding boxes (OBB) for deforming broad leaf plant that can be constructed in a preprocessing phase, and then updated efficiently during the animation.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116799024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
