This study investigates several significant questions, such as how the Qur'an argues for taking sides with the disadvantaged people, and what instruments are outlined by the Qur'an as the main support for the implementation of social safety nets. These questions are approached contextually and critically by examining primary texts, such as verses of the Qur'an that talk about the topic, to be interpreted thematically-contextually. Meanwhile, secondary texts are used as interpretive supports to enrich perspectives in reconstructing and reformulating the idea of a social safety net based on the Qur'anic values. This study concludes; first, even though the Qur’an does not mention explicitly the term social safety net, the teachings of the social safety net are implicitly embodied in the Qur’an. Second, some fundamental instruments in the Qur’an can be realized as supporting systems for social safety nets, such as zakah, kafarat, infaq, sadaqah, qurban, dam and fidyah, fai’, and ghanimah. Third, the Qur’anic concept of social safety net engages with five principles, namely expanse and balance, justice and equity, spirituality and productivity, sustainability and empowerment, and dynamic and systematic. Thus, the concept of the social safety net in the Qur’an is a comprehensive approach, not only for the short term but also for the long term, not only consumptive-giving but also productive-empowering.","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"129 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132832283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach is the primary reference in mitigating the spread of the disease. In fact, in Indonesian society, there are local wisdoms in the traditions of each ethnic group in tackling the spread of disease, for example, the Javanese tradition. Javanese culture has local wisdom in dealing with pandemics passed down from generation to generation. This study attempts to answer how the mitigation pattern in Javanese culture is. Anthropologically, pandemics can be studied under health anthropology on disease. By taking the case of the Javanese people in Indonesia, this article describes local ways of preventing and overcoming disease outbreaks or mitigating disease outbreaks. The data source of this article is produced from qualitative research through interview techniques, focus group discussions, online seminars, and the study of manuscripts from magazines published in Java. The results showed that local communities, in addition to knowing the causes of disease, also developed ways to prevent and eliminate diseases, and mitigate outbreaks and pandemics. Javanese people see the mitigation of diseases physically and psychically. Physical mitigation tends to be in line with modern medical methods and the application of new normal. The mitigation of psychics is done by using mantras and songs and developing Javanese attitude of “narima ing pandum”  (take it as it comes).","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125703964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Information could spread very quickly, especially on issues such as religion. This also has an impact on the spread of hoax information on the internet. In conjunction with this, many websites/virtual groups have emerged and they carried an “anti-hoax” movement that could filter information, for example, MAFINDO (Masyarakat Anti Fitnah Indonesia – it could be translated in English as Indonesian Anti-Hoax Society). This group adherently helped people clarify misinformation on their website or social media. Therefore, this paper discussed the role of the anti-hoax group in maintaining religious harmony. This research used content analysis to show some posts of this group on their social media. The results of this study indicate that anti-hoax group plays an important role as cyber-police that will help maintain a harmonious life of religion. First, becomes the mover who creates an active, peaceful, and prosperous civil society. Second, becomes the collaborator that cooperates with other parties in an effort to combat fraud and hatred. Third, synergizes as an enlightener to integrate all positive social aspects to create an enlightened society that is immune to hoax outbreaks. A spatial mapping approach is also suggested and can be considered as the first step in knowing the distribution of zakat potential in Indonesia. Furthermore, strategies that can be implemented are formulated to increase zakat collection in Indonesia. Potential zakat data from the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) in 2020 consisting of bank deposits, salaries, agricultural products, plantation products, and staple foods. Each province in Indonesia is used as the proposed variable. In this paper, firstly collecting data on indicators of potential zakat. Second, the FCM clustering algorithm. Third, the results of the FCM grouping are visualized in the form of a mapping. This novel mapping study with FCM was applied in order to analyze clustering accuracy. The FCM results confirm 2 optimum clusters for zakat potential in Indonesia where cluster 2 has more members than cluster 1. Besides, the second cluster only has one variable that has a high value, namely agricultural products, while the rest is in the first cluster. This indicates that the first cluster has a higher potential for zakat. The application of fuzzy c-means (FCM) to obtain the optimum cluster on zakat potential to produce a mapping of zakat potential is a novelty in the field of Islamic economic studies. Finally, the results of the analysis with this approach provide optimum results to strengthen the zakat collection strategy in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133068734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, the society has unique religiosity attitudes that are somehow it misunderstood as disobedience. This research tries to dig the religiosity attitudes reflected on Sikep society’s Macapat songs, especially their focuses and objects. The analysis used appraisal language theory as the approach. The data of the research are words, phrases, or metaphors that reflect attitude in the texts of Sikep society’s macapat songs. The result of the study showed that thereare only two dimensions of religiosity attitudes found in Sikep society’s Macapat song, those are beliefs and values. The value of religiosity reflected on appreciation and judgment; the belief of religiosity consisted of appreciation, judgment, and affect. The objects of religiosity attitudes in the Sikep society’s macapat songs include people (Sikep society, Ki Surantika, man, the children of Sikep society, government, and the ancestors), and something that is humanized (intention, body and soul). The focus of positive moral attitude involves all words, phrases, and metaphor that reflected the principles, prohibitions, ideals; the focuses of negative moral attitude expressed the negative attitudes and behaviors that they proposed to be avoided. Here, the dominant positive attitudes showed their social life. Then, the only two dimensions of religiosity indicate the lack of restricted rules and ritual applied in their religious life.","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114010437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study, in this context, attempts to present an evaluation and brief content-analysis of four (4) latest works by the Western academics (mostly ‘Islamicists’) on Islamic history, published in between 2009 and 2016 (and referring to their latest editions as well). Theoretical in nature, following both descriptive and comparative methodological approaches, this study attempts to (i) get clues of the recent trends, tendencies and tenors in the English (predominantly  American) scholarship on Islamic history; and (ii) identify the main topics, themes and issues covered under the broader rubric ofIslamic history/ civilization in these works. Joseph is the son who is dearest to his father, but this makes his brother hate him. Joseph is a character in the Bible, and Joseph realized that all the thoughts of his brothers, all the difficulties he experienced, were solely in God's design, and God had a good purpose in the difficulties he experienced. In a sense, Joseph's personal spirituality determines how he can have an adversity quotient so that Joseph became a tough person in facing all the challenges of his life. This study aims to analyze personal spirituality and adversity quotient. The research method used is content analysis. The tension shows resistance of Balinese traditional Hindus to the Sampradaya or the spiritualist group of the Hare Krishna consciousness movement. The feud started from a hate speech on social media from both sides that leads to physical persecution. The research was conducted using a case study method, with interviews and observations at the scene and religious practices. This study found out that the conflict was rooted in different religious understandings between the Hare Krishna Gaudy Vaisnava theology and Balinese Hindu Traditional, as well as differences in acceptance of Balinese religious traditions. The contestation of the two parties escalated the feud on social media, then heated up to the closing of Hare Krishna's religious activities. The accumulation of tension was also triggered by religious activities and the appearance of Hare Krishna followers was considered to be in contrast to the Balinese traditional community, and the rite system was considered not to reflect Balinese customs. The research concludes that the institutional interaction between the two parties is deadlocked, although so far there is still a safety valve, namely Nyama Baraya, but the potential for conflict still arises. Similarity of ethnic background; dialogue intentions do not find common ground, the reintegration process is threatened with failure. A solution through dialogue is still the best step compared to resolving power or law enforcement, therefore efforts to bring the two parties together in dialogue must continue.","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116349479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Historically, moko was brought from Vietnam and became a heirloom which was passed down from generation to generation. In practice, moko can be used as a dowry of marriage, clan identity, musical instruments, and several other uses. This study provides novelty on the moko symbolization as a socio-religious harmony of Alor society. The problem to be resolved in this research is “how does the moko symbolize socio-religious harmony in the people of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara?” The theoretical concept used in this article is Geertz’s ‘religious as the cultural system” which is paired with Epicurus' opinion about the three levels of harmony. This study used the phenomenological method of Edmund Husserl.  The results of this study are moko symbolization as a rhythmic leader of musical instruments related with social messages in the ownership it and the function of moko as a dowry of marriage. In addition, the results of the study also show that the symbolization of moko becomes a part of the harmony embodiment in the life of the Alor people. This symbolization process occurs at the level of ideas and manifests in behavior. The novelty in this research is the characteristics of the Alor community as a heterogeneous society place the symbols of a set of conventions. Moko as part of the convention symbol embodies social harmonization. This part becomes an interesting character because moko is not an original object from the Alor community, but it has been adopted as a cultural symbol. Social harmonization occurs at the level of ideas which are adhered to customary law. This really depends on the values held in society.  ","PeriodicalId":102671,"journal":{"name":"Analisa: Journal of Social Science and Religion","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114903274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
