Conceptual development of emerging interdisciplinary literature is combined with example analysis to develop the Circle of E-learning uniquely augmented by hermeneutics, action research and the creative destruction cycle of innovation using applied examples of e-entrepreneurship. Four R’s are discussed in the Circle of E-learning; Review, Revise, Reconstruct, and Reveal. Observations for each of the 4R’s are made regarding continuous improvement of the education of e-entrepreneurs. Findings are that the procedural pivot points indicated by the 4R’s can be helpful for administrators and educators to improve operations and outcomes in management and professional development situations.","PeriodicalId":102199,"journal":{"name":"Int. It is not enough to find out the appropriate ERP system for the company, to resolve the problems completely. The success of an ERP system is dependent on the performance of the ERP installation project. In this paper, at the beginning the definition of the ERP systems is given briefly and then the structure of a successful and effectively working ERP system is analyzed in the light of a case from the business world. At the end, the critical success factors of an ERP installation project are identified and examined with the help of three distinct ERP cases with different outcomes. Management tools make ERP more customerfocused, project management oriented and content management-oriented. When Table 1 is compared to Table 2, it can be easily seen that market share of the top 3 companies has fallen down from 65% to 53% within 5 years. Meanwhile ERP market was grown nearly 7% every year (e.g., $43bn in 2010 and $40.6bn in 2009, Panorama Consulting, 2011). Competition gets tougher and new players become more powerful with the development of the ERP market. Hence, it’s becoming more important to implement problem-free and successful ERP projects. In the first section of this paper a problem free and profitable working ERP system (Benetton) has been described, showing how a perfect ERP system should function. In the Table 1. This paper presents a mathematical model to optimize the fuzzy Option value for multi-stage portfolio of such projects. A fuzzy Option model is used to maximize the Option value of each project. The IT and e-service portfolio selection problem is formulated as a fuzzy zero–one integer programming model that can handle both uncertain and flexible parameters to determine the optimal project portfolio. The idea of optimizing the fuzzy real option value of the portfolio is to maximize the overall value and to minimize the downside risk of the selected portfolio for funding. A transformation method based on qualitative possibility theory is developed to convert the fuzzy portfolio selection model into a crisp mathematical model from the risk-averse perspective. The transformed model can be solved by an optimization technique. The optimization model and solution approach can help e-entrepreneurs and IT managers in optimal funding decision making for projects prioritization to implement e-business and other IT services. Such investments create valuable follow-on contingent investment opportunities. Real Option analysis has been an alternative approach that incorporates impact of flexibility while evaluating IT and e-business projects. The basic idea of the Real Options approach is to transfer the sophisticated Option pricing model used in the capital market theory to the valuation of risky projects. Real Option theory views investment activities as discretionary decisions in uncertain environment and thus is able to capture the value of decision flexibility ignored by existing net cash flow method. The initial investment of these projects is similar to purchase of an Option on a further dependent projects’ investment. The value of the project investment is not primarily determined by the initial investment but by the future investment opportunities provided by the initial investment. The NPV and the DCF based analysis are not suited well for risky IT and e-business projects as they are not able to estimate the managerial flexibility underlying such investments. Therefore, the value of the successful project is usually underestimated while the value of the failure is overestimated. In Real Option valuation approach, the initial investment of such project is similar to the purchase of an Option on the further dependent e-business project’s investment. Therefore, the basic idea is to add the c","PeriodicalId":102199,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Presently, users are faced with a great amount of information and they need help to find appropriate items in the shortest possible time. Recommender systems were introduced to overcome this problem of overloaded information. They recommend items of interest to users based on their expressed preferences. Major e-commerce companies try to use this technology to increase their sales. Collaborative Filtering is the most promising technique in recommender systems. It provides personalized recommendations according to user preferences. But one of the problems of Collaborative Filtering is cold-start. The authors provide a novel approach for solving this problem through using the attributes of items in order to recommend items to more people for improving e-business activities. The experimental results show that the proposed method performs better than existing methods in terms of the number of generated recommendations and their quality. This paper first describes recommender systems and three different methods widely used in such systems. The challenges involved in designing and implementing such systems are then discussed. Afterwards, we focus more on one of the problems of collaborative filtering method called cold start. We present an algorithm for solving this problem and then present our experimental results for the evaluation of the proposed method. Finally, we conclude the paper and give some directions for future research. 2. RECOMMENDER SYSTEMS Nowadays, mass of information is increasing faster than our power of processing information. This information is generated as result of producing new books, articles, issues, and so on every year. The largest e-commerce companies offer millions of items for sale. This is a challenge for users, because it is difficult for them to select their required items among the great mass of items. As a result, there is a need for automated recommendation methods. Recommender systems have emerged for this purpose. They include methods for finding important information and knowledge from large datasets with minimal user involvement (Shaw et al., 2009; Schiaffino & Amandi, 2009; Shani et al., 2005). Recommender systems have recently gained more attention because of their importance for e-commerce applications (Lin, 2000). They tend to understand users’ interests, using their history of buying behavior and suggest items that might interest them (Shaw et al., 2009). There are different definitions for recommender systems. A recommender system is defined as an information system that is able to analyze past behaviors and present","PeriodicalId":102199,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. The growing interest in Peer-to-Peer centralized or decentralized systems has inspired numerous research activities, though in a schema-based Peer-to-Peer (P2P) system, locating Peers (services) relevant to a given query is a basic problem for which different routing strategies of queries have been proposed. In this paper, the architecture, based on (Super-) Peers, is proposed, with a special focus on query routing. For an efficient query routing, (Super-) Peers having similar interests are grouped together and called SuperSuper-Peers (SSP). Super-Peers submit queries that are often processed by members of this group. A SSP is a specific Super-Peer that contains knowledge about 1) its Super-Peers, and 2) the other SSP. Using data mining techniques knowledge is extracted by processing queries of Peers that transit on the network. The advantage of this distributed knowledge is that it avoids making semantic mapping between heterogeneous data sources owned by (Super-) Peers each time the system decides to route query to other (Super-) Peers. Second, P2P architectures provide scalable environments. It is able to deal with transient users. The Peer-toPeer computing paradigm is viewed as a novel approach for people to share resources such as files and computing cycles, or to support collaborative tasks. During the past few years, the Internet has been gradually shifting toward a distributed system that supports more than a unique client-server application. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems are distributed systems, in which nodes of equal roles and capabilities exchange information and services directly with each other, making it more popular. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems’ design, including efficient techniques for search, route queries and retrieval of data, allows the user to share huge volumes of data. However, the major problem in such networks is query routing, i.e., deciding to which other (Super-) Peers the query has to be sent for high efficiency and effectiveness. Traditional P2P systems offer support for richer queries; they provide the option to search by identifier, such as a keyword search with regular expressions. Search techniques for these systems must therefore operate under a different set of constraints than those techniques developed for persistent storage utilities. However, the technique of broadcasting all queries to all Peers suffer from limited efficien","PeriodicalId":102199,"journal":{"name":"Int. J. Thus, the organization’s agility represents a key element in obtaining the strategic advantage and the market success. The paper analyzes the connection between the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), the Business Process Management (BPM) and the Decision Management, as well as the way in which these modern approaches contribute to obtaining organization agility. The main changes determined by the organization’s service orientation, changes that are necessary for the success of the transition to the agile organization, are also identified and presented within the paper. Obtaining and maintaining agility implies the existence of an agile architecture at the level of organization.
