However, due to the vast variability and lack of professional regulation in this area of practice, Speech-language Pathologists and English-as-Second-Language teachers grapple with the basics of assessment, setting goals, planning therapy, and identifying successful outcomes for accent Management. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to introduce practitioners/teachers to a framework of assessment of accent-related communication concerns. The CAAI assessment framework provides major areas to include in assessment of accented speech, along with methods to assess with key examples. Using a proven assessment framework helps identify the key speech and language issues that interfere with communication, thereby setting an useful baseline for effective intervention, numerically tracking progress along the way, and conducting a systematic post-intervention outcome assessment. Methodology: Twenty-two areas of communication are identified and described in detail as key areas to identify accent-related concerns. Pre- and post-therapy assessment data, intelligibility judgments by independent raters, and the clients’ judgments are used to quantitatively diagnose, set goals in therapy, and measure eventual therapy outcomes. Conclusions: Use of a data-driven, objective assessment method helps clinicians to be evidence-based, systematic, and consistent in helping individuals with accented speech. As a result, clients’ goals of clear communication can be met rapidly and efficiently.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"52 47","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140970793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, understanding consumer behavior within this context has become crucial for practitioners seeking to execute effective marketing strategies. While academic studies in this field are gaining traction, there remains a lack of a comprehensive overview. Existing literature on the subject is often fragmented and inconsistent, hindering a thorough comprehension of consumer behavioral patterns in food delivery applications. Thus, this study aims to address this gap by conducting a systematic literature review to organize and synthesize current knowledge on consumer behavior in such applications, elucidating how consumers interact within these platforms. We analyzed 587 journal articles extracted from primary databases (Scopus and Web of Science), ultimately reviewing 112 articles spanning from 2014 to August 2023. Furthermore, we developed a conceptual framework to fully grasp the variables influencing consumer behavior, showcasing frequently reported factors in food delivery application literature. This research also identifies nine directions for further exploration, including regional and country comparisons, methodological approaches, theoretical perspectives, demographic analyses, independent variables, moderating effects, affective and cognitive evaluations, outcome responses, and drone-based food delivery application perspectives. This review is expected to offer valuable insights for both researchers and practitioners.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":" 11-12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140998820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, it is a national transportation hub in China because of its distinctive geographic location, abundant resources and labor force. Due to the development of Huaihua International Inland Port, Huaihua has an excellent opportunity to be a logistics and trade center for inland areas in Central China. Given considerations in national strategies, food security, economic development and other factors, an integrated supervision center can be built in Huaihua, as it can promote the connectivity of the Wuling Mountain area and the neighboring provinces, contribute to regional economic development, and enhance China’s national security and supervisory capacity. The development of Huaihua as an integrated supervision center facilitates the processing, bonded warehousing and logistics distribution of high-quality imported commodities from neighboring countries, especially ASEAN countries.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":" 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140998207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study was to investigate how Malay values and beliefs were incorporated in communication in one of the most effective speeches of Mahathir Mohamed as a prominent leader in the Southern East of Asia and how these values were employed to influence his audience. The thematic analysis was used to analyse the selected speech and identify key themes, ideas, and topics that reflected Malay communicative and cultural values including indirectness, politeness, and Islamic beliefs. The findings demonstrated a notable contrast between the way Mahathir communicates and the discourse of indirectness commonly associated with Malay discourse. They showed that Mahathir employed direct language and assertive communicative approach to convey his messages and to avoid confusing his audience. This departure from traditional norms suggests that Mahathir recognizes the importance of clarity and precision in persuasive communication, prioritizing audience comprehension over conformity to cultural expectations. While Mahathir is unlike Malays in terms of indirectness, he employed other Malay communicative values such as referring to Islam principles, rationality and emotionality. He incorporated rationality (akal budi) with emotion (hati budi) to work together to influence his audience.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":" 90","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141000739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There have been many attempts from scholars who viewed the Somali case from different perspectives to explain what led to the state crumbling. The Somali state collapse has rejected conventional wisdom and evaded almost all attempts to impose a particular structure, explanation, or conclusion upon it. Much has been written and said about the country, particularly since 1991. One serious attempt which may help explain the Somali case is the Keynan Theory of Somali Equation (KSET). KSET is a philosophical attempt to explain the Somali state's collapse by theorising the country's political and social context, the factors that contributed to its demise, and the steps necessary for the Somali people to reconstruct their state. This paper will attempt to analyse and examine the theoretical framework of the phenomenon of social order fragmentation, which is the foundation of KSET. Applying the theory will further attempt to shed light on the factors that led to the establishment and continuation of Somali society. It will also examine \"the complex of ideas, values, beliefs and institutions that define and underpin the Somali society\" by looking at the methodology applied in KSET.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"161 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141015106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The focus is on the correlation between adolescents' social emotional health, stress resilience and their perceived parenting style. Research methodologies: The Social Emotional Health Survey System (SEHS-S, Furlong et al., 2014); Brief Resilient Coping Scale (Sinclaire, Wallston, 2004); The parenting styles questionnaire (EMBU, Arrindell, 1999). Participants: 160 adolescents between 12 and 18 years of age. Research results: all parenting styles (except rejection) perceived by adolescents are significantly positively related to overall social emotional health (SEHS-S) index Covitality; adolescents stress resilience significantly positively correlates with all sub-scales of social emotional health and with the overall Covitality index. Effective communication between parents and children could help prevent or mitigate many problems and stresses during adolescence and contribute to positive development in adulthood.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"105 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141015634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

How could a look at the myths of cultures thousands of years old possibly benefit a leadership coach working in a modern, complex, technologically-oriented society? While much of the current literature on leadership coaching takes a non-historical, rational-empirical approach to the subject, a great deal of practical, useful insight can be gained from assessing lessons derived from mythology. The content of leadership coaching typically focuses on the resolution of professional and organizational issues in the present and on the future development of the client. This paper will attempt to show that enduring lessons derived from a look at the mythology of six different ancient cultures are both relevant and useful to the Leadership Coach of today.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"91 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141017298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These challenges range from limited access to capital or credit and inadequate or epileptic power (electricity) supply among others to adequately run businesses. Entrepreneurship as it were is the greatest potential to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of any nation, and most especially Nigeria. It is the contention of this study on the one hand that entrepreneurs themselves should operate within the legitimate business environment that is guided by rules and regulations, while the government on the other hand, should provide a conducive business environment through appropriate policies and regulations for businesses to thrive. By this, we believe entrepreneurship will be a catalyst for the sustainable development of the country.","PeriodicalId":92980,"journal":{"name":"Advances in social sciences research journal","volume":"40 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141015701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
