The study contributes by determining the effect of various macroeconomic variables on stock prices of Pakistan by analysing the monthly data from May 2000-August 2016. As all the variables are stationary at first difference thus ideal ARDL approach of bound testing is applied to check the short term and long term co-integration of the macroeconomic variables on stock prices. The findings suggest that stock prices of Karachi Stock Exchange in long term are significantly affected by money supply, exchange rate, and interest rate. In short term all the variables are insignificant except exchange rate which is negatively co-integrated with stock prices. The central bank shall be vigilant while changing the money supply in market because too much increase in money supply could affect investment as well as stock market. The regulator should keep interest rate relatively low to encourage economic activities, improve external economic environment through rule based exchange rate policy and avoid discretionary measures.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"9 1","pages":"1-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000365","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70228380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Agricultural Economic performance was assessed in terms of household income and commercialization. The study was done in two Sub-Counties i.e. Nyamitanga and Mwiizi S/County to represent Mbarara district. A sample of 132respondents was used of both NAADS and Non-NAADS farmers in both Goat rearing and Piggery and NAADS Coordinators who were involved in the programme from the district to Parish level in Mbarara district. Both stratified and purposive sampling were used to select the sample in both Mwiizi sub –county and Nyamitanga division as, 63 NAADS farmers of both enterprises (goat and pig rearing) and 6 NAADS Coordinators from two S/Counties as well as 63 NonNAADS farmers from the same enterprises in both sub-counties.The study used both questionnaire survey and interview methods in collecting data from the field.The study adopted a Quasi- experimental research design where difference in difference model was used. The Difference between means was used to determine if there is a significant difference between NAADS and NonNAADS on economic outcomes of commercialization and household income in Mbarara district. The primary data was collected using questionnaire survey and interview methods and analyzed using SPSS. The findings show that there was no significant difference on level of commercialization in terms of technology adoption; household income in both NAADS and NonNAADS farmers involved in goat rearing and piggery in Mbarara district. Basing on the findings, the level of monitoring and supervision, distribution of farm inputs and service delivery, fund flows to facilitate the coordinators and service providers, and purchase inputs, farm inputs to distribute to farmers, attitude of farmers towards government programmes and corruption and embezzlement of funds were the most important factors that greatly affected the economic performance of NAADS programme in Mbarara district. In recommendation, the government should increase the level of monitoring and supervision at different levels, increasing in the accessibility of inputs and service delivery, anti-corruption and embezzlement laws, allocation of enough funds, empowerment of the institutions like the local government, farmer groups and other civil society organisations (CSOs), increase on the level of accessibility through fair distribution of farm inputs and encourage pilot studies in area where the programme is to be implemented. For this reason, governmental entities are beginning to employ branding strategies to sell their regions and countries to the rest of the world. This phenomenon has resulted in a new concept of marketing called place branding. With Kenya seeking to position itself as an attractive investment destination and with aspirations of becoming a middle-income country by the year 2030, it is essential to identify the critical place branding strategies and ensure these are incorporated into the country’s strategic plan (Vision 2030) in order to compete effectively against competition. Accordingly, the researchers extensively review existing literature relating to place branding. From the analysis, the authors propose a conceptual framework for strategic place branding for Kenya. The paper concludes by suggesting areas that future studies should address.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":" ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000335","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45910229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper based on applying the most robust trend in computer science field which is data mining in the quality assurance field. The cases study which is discussed in this paper based on detecting and predicting the developed and developing countries based on the indicators. This paper uses three different artificial intelligent techniques namely; Artificial Neural Network (ANN), k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Fuzzy k-Nearest Neighbor (FKNN). The main target of this paper is to merge between the last intelligent techniques applied in the computer science with the quality assurance approaches. The experimental result shows that proposed approaches in this paper achieved the highest accuracy score than the other comparative studies as indicates in the experimental result section.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"8 1","pages":"1-11"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.4172/2151-6219.1000333","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46363988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mediation model under transformational leadership theory is tested using PLS modelling. The results of the study are based on a sample size of 117 respondents from a public sector organization i.e., NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) located nationwide in Pakistan. However, the scope of the present study encompasses the five major regions of Punjab province. The results positively supported the effect of transformational leadership on affective organizational commitment. Moreover, psychological empowerment mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and affective organizational commitment. Implications extend the literature in terms of applicability of transformational leadership theory in public sector organizations.","PeriodicalId":92484,"journal":{"name":"Business and economics journal","volume":"8 1","pages":"1-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47921290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
