We report a case of a cardiac mass in right atrium identified during a pulmonary vein isolation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. A physiological tissue corresponding to a prominent crista terminalis was assumed and confirmed by multimodality imaging techniques, while a malignancy was, also, ruled out concerning the personal history of the patient. A prominent crista terminalis is frequent finding in magnetic resonance, but its appearance prevalence in transthoracic echocardiography is unknown. A proper diagnosis of a prominent crista terminalis may be facilitated in the future by the improvement of ultrasound imaging techniques and the awareness of its existence. *Correspondence to: Sofia Chatzikyriakou, Department of Cardiology, CUBHôpital Erasme, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Route de Lennik 808, 1070 Brussels, Tel: 0032(0)25553907; E-mail: sofia.chatzikyriakou@erasme.ulb.ac.be","PeriodicalId":91545,"journal":{"name":"Journal of integrative cardiology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67483483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to fill this gap of research by conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare differences types of exercise to reduce EAT. Methods and analysis: We will search the PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, google scholar, clinical trials registry (ClinicalTrials. gov) for unpublished or undergoing research listed in registry platforms. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the drug therapy of EAT with outcome measures including diagnostic criteria of EAT will be included. The quality of included RTCs will be evaluated according to the Cochrane Collaboration's risk of bias tool. Sensitivity analysis on the sample size of RCTs, meta-regression analysis on the follow-up periods, dosages and baselines of outcome measure, contradiction analysis between pairwise and network meta-analyses, and publication bias analysis, will be performed. Methods: Retrospective analysis of demographics, clinical parameters, surgical technique, adverse events and survival in patients treated with LVAD centrifugal pump as bridge to transplant. Primary endpoint was survival at one year. Secondary endpoints were device related complications. Results: Thirty-two (32) adult patients received centrifugal LVAD: 16 (50%) the HW and 16 (50%) the HM3. There were no significant differences in survival at 1,3 and 12 months post-implantation. Hemorrhage requiring surgery occurred in 9 (56.3%) patients in the HW group and 5 (31.3%) in the HM3 group. Stroke occurred in 2 (12%) HW and 1 (6.3%) HM3. Two patients required surgery to treat infection of the driveline, one in each group. Conclusions: Both devices provided excellent hemodynamic support and had similar stroke and bleeding complication rates even if the HM3 was implanted in sicker patients. *Correspondence to: Anna Nowacka, Department of Cardiac surgery, University Hospital, Lausanne, Rue du Bugnon 46, 1011 Lausanne, Switzerland, E-mail: anna.nowacka@chuv.ch","PeriodicalId":91545,"journal":{"name":"Journal of integrative cardiology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67483279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
