Alaria alata is considered a potential cause of disease in humans and is included among several emerging zoonotic parasites. It is the etiological agent of alariosis, which is associated with the consumption of raw or undercooked meat from intermediate (snails, frogs) or paratenic (mainly game) hosts of the parasite. This work aimed to report the first case of alariosis in a domestic feline in southern Brazil. The patient in this report was an adult male feline of no defined breed, who a few days after being adopted, began to present loose stools, which progressed to diarrhea, and some episodes of vomiting were also reported. The definitive diagnosis was obtained from coproparasitological examination, using the Hoffman, Pons, and Janer technique (spontaneous sedimentation), where Alaria spp. eggs were observed. Following the diagnosis, treatment with praziquantel (20mg/kg) was instituted for two consecutive days, as well as supportive therapy. At the end of the treatment, a new coproparasitological examination was carried out, which confirmed the effectiveness of the treatment. This report suggests, the importance of researching and reporting cases involving the trematode Alaria spp. becomes evident, as it represents not only a health problem for domestic animals but also a public health problem due to its zoonotic potential.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":"86 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140709435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Noteworthy results include the Poincare inequality elucidating function behavior on compact manifolds and compactness properties of Sobolev spaces on Riemannian manifolds. The study establishes trace theorems for functions on the boundary and interpolation results between Sobolev spaces. Isoperimetric inequalities and stability under weak convergence contribute to a holistic understanding of geometric and analytical aspects of Sobolev spaces. The research concludes by exploring invariance under diffeomorphisms and compactness in dual spaces, providing a unified framework for analyzing function spaces on manifolds.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":"1996 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140719102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The population of the study were married couples drawn from the Metropolis who have been married for 1-25 years and could read and understand. A sample of 381married couples aged between 30 to 50 years were drawn from the region using stratified random sampling. A questionnaire was use to gather data for the study. Quantitative data was analysed by using one-way ANOVA. Hypothesis one revealed a statistically significant differences in marital stability of couples based on their level of education. Hypothesis two revealed a statistically significant differences in the length of marriage and marital stability of couples. For hypothesis 3, it was revealed that there is a statistically significant differences in marital stability among couples based on their religion. It was concluded that married couples’ levels of education, how long they have been married and couples’ religion were key determinants of marital stability among couples. It is therefore recommended that couples intending to marry should have some level of education to be effectively resolve conflicts during marriage. Also, couples should be educated on the need to stay longer in marriage despites conflicts and misunderstandings and adherence to religious practices, values and teachings on marriage should be adhered to.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":"195 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140724154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Embracing practices such as crop rotation, animal manures, crop residues, green manures, and biological pest and disease control, organic agriculture aims to uphold soil health and productivity. By meeting present food demands in an environmentally conscientious manner, organic farming also safeguards the needs of future generations, thereby preserving and nurturing our ecosystem. Modern agriculture has detrimentally impacted the environment, leading to issues such as decreased soil fertility, elevated water hardness, insect resistance development, reduced genetic diversity in plants, heightened levels of toxic residues in the food chain and animal feed, contributing to health problems and environmental degradation. In contrast, organic farming nurtures plants with essential macronutrients and micronutrients while simultaneously enhancing soil physical, chemical, and biological characteristics. Guided by the ethos of sustainability, organic farming prioritizes mitigating health risks linked to synthetic inputs and cultivating a healthier ecosystem. The minimal environmental footprint of organic farming positions it as a practical solution for tackling urgent concerns like soil degradation, water pollution, and global ecological well-being. Essentially, organic farming stands out as a beacon of sustainable agriculture, paving the way to reconcile food production with environmental conservation. Moreover, organic farming's low environmental impact presents an opportunity to rehabilitate and enhance degraded agricultural lands.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":"33 14","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140734402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Understanding the concept and the inherent adverse consequences of the insider threat can assist in postulating mitigating approaches and techniques to the menace. Insider intrusion, from researches, experiences and literature have proved to be more expensive and destructive more than external attacks due the comprehensive understanding of the internal operations of the organization by the perpetrator. Many researchers have explored into the unhealthy nature of insider activity with the aim of eliminating the threat, thereby identifying the various categories as theft of intellectual property, fraud, sabotage, espionage. This work tends to address the menace by studying models for detecting, reducing and eliminating the threat through IP Spoofing in order to propose a better model for the intrusion. Certain experimental research through analysis of network data measurement has shown that HCF (Hop Count Filtering) can discover and discard almost 90% of spoofed IP packets but an improvement on this experiment called DPU (Dynamic Path Update) Based Hop Count Filtering has proved to identify and discard more than 90%. This was carried out in Linux Kernel environment to substantiate the effectiveness of its measurements. However, enhancing enhancing the performance of the DPU-based HCF by reducing the packet size of packets at the point of entry in order to decrease the network traffic, and to permanently discard 100% spoofed packets is the research direction of this work","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":"33 9","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140375507","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
