These opinions were expressed during an interview conducted to determine the effect of a hidden curriculum on the development of numeracy and literacy among Ghana's early-grade learners. Qualitative analysis was used to analyze the data collected through open-ended queries and semi-structured interviews. The findings of this study indicated that early-grade educators are well aware of hidden curriculum activities and engage in various extracurricular activities to develop their pupils' numeracy and literacy skills. Therefore, the hidden curriculum contributes to a more holistic education by expanding the scope of learning beyond the curriculum's prescribed subjects. The study concludes with suggestions that education is not limited to textbooks and lesson plans but includes a wide range of experiences that shape learners' perspectives, skills, and character development; therefore, teachers should provide an environment that creates learning opportunities for students to improve retention, engagement, and enjoyment of the learning process.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48995036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The radiographic equipment was fitted with aluminum, copper, and copper-aluminum composition filters to identify the optimal filtration for reducing radiation doses and maintaining image quality. \u0000Results: Results showed that filtration effectively reduced dose and average absorbed dose in internal organs, with the greatest reduction observed with the copper filter. However, excessive filtration resulted in a decrease in image quality, particularly with the copper filter. The Figure of Merit (FOM) demonstrated that keeping the electrical factors of the X-ray tube consistent (70 kVp and 32 mAs) and using an additional 2.5 mmAl filter could optimize pelvic radiographic examinations, based on the diagnostic IQ criteria established by the service. \u0000Conclusion: In conclusion, the FOM revealed that using additional filtration of 2.5 mmAl and maintaining the X-ray tube's electrical factors at 70 kVp and 32 mAs could reduce the KERMA in air by 49.8% in the patient, 41.5% in the testes, 35.5% in the bladder, 30.4% in the ovaries, 29.7% in the bone marrow, and 35.3% in the total effective dose of the examination, while maintaining equivalent image quality.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42078700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the researchers aim to explore the lived experiences of the student mothers in reference to their dual roles. The purpose of this study is to shed a light on the lives of these young women by providing a profound understanding of their struggles, motivations, and the different stories. The conversation partners were chosen via snowball and purposive sampling, which are guided by the following criteria: a.) a bonafide student enrolled in a state university in Negros Occidental in the 1st semester of Academic Year 2022-2023; b.) ages 20 - 24 years old; c.) a biological mother to young child/children ages 0 – 6 years old; d.) single parent or married; e.) has the custody of the child/living with her child or children, and f.) willing to participate in the study. Researchers employed an in-depth semi-structured interview as a tool in gathering the data. Each student mother underwent a one-on-one interview with the researchers in order to obtain substantial information of their lived experiences. The interviews were then transcribed for data analysis. After rigorous analysis, four core themes emerged from the data. Results revealed that most of the participants experienced personal struggles, societal acceptance as well as family and peer acceptance. Moreover, the student mothers shared that a strong support system is something that they wish for to have that could further help them in dealing with their day-to-day struggles. To cope with the different challenges that arise, the conversation partners rely greatly on their small family, their faith, as well as their immediate families and friends. The results of this study allowed the researchers to have a deeper insight of their situation and a glimpse of what is it like being a student mother.","PeriodicalId":91191,"journal":{"name":"Advances in research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46480594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
