Climate change is predicted to increase the frequency of climatic extremes that can lead to loss of life and property. This study was mainly to analyze the water stress arising from the impacts of climate change on hydro-meteorological ecosystem services. The methodology of the study consists of analysis of available meteorological and hydrological observations, analysis of Global Weather Data for ArcGIS/SWAT output data and finally seasonal performance of precipitation and temperature using Climate Predictability Tool outputs. \u0000The Correlation Percentage change was used to estimate the rate of change of flow and water levels under a changed climate. The outputs for different stations showed that climate change has already affected water resources in Lake Kyoga catchment with continuous reduction in water levels of 6%. The results of the study revealed that climate change is likely to increase precipitation by 10-20% received during the wet seasons resulting in higher stream flow and a reduction of 20-40% of precipitation during the dry seasons. The GCMs also demonstrated an increase in maximum and minimum temperatures of 1 to 30C by 2065 with minimum temperatures increasing more rapidly compared to the maximum temperatures for the two scenarios (RCP4.5 and RCP8.5). The strategies for adaptation and mitigation measures have been identified.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"70 1","pages":"345-354"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74471786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fire is one of the most severe and frequent disasters faced by the mankind especially in the machine age. Our project focuses on extinguishing such city fires with the help of a specially designed robot. The proposed robot would climb up a pole which can easily be constructed with minimal expenditures and efforts during or after the construction of the building. The robot being able to climb pole, would be able to traverse upwards, no matter at what height the fire is set. This versatility would eliminate the problems posed due to insufficiently long ladders (100 feet maximum) with the firefighting department. The robot is also equipped with a motor controlled nuzzling arrangement which will allow spraying the water jet in all possible directions. Such use of technology also safeguards the lives of firefighters which in conventional methods are put in danger. The robot will be equipped with a camera at the top which would enable the controller to judge the intensity and severity of the fire. The robot can be wirelessly controlled using radio controlled device which can control the locomotion of robot, direction control of water jet and an LCD which can display the camera sight.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"37 1","pages":"360-363"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78588648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As soon as the encryption secrets uncovered, the only possible diploma to maintain information confidentiality is to restrict the attacker’s access to the ciphertext. This can be finished, as an instance, with the resource of spreading ciphertext blocks in the course of servers in a couple of administrative domain names, therefore assuming that the adversary cannot compromise them all. However, if data is encrypted with present schemes, an adversary prepared with the encryption key, can nevertheless compromise an unmarried server and decrypt the ciphertext blocks saved therein. On this paper, we observe records confidentiality in opposition to an adversary which knows the encryption key and has get admission to a massive fraction of the ciphertext blocks. To this quit, we advise Bastion, a singular and green scheme that ensures data confidentiality notwithstanding the reality that the encryption secrets leaked and the adversary has access to nearly all ciphertext blocks. We analyze the security of Bastion, and we examine its standard overall performance via manner of a prototype implementation. We also talk realistic insights with admire to the combination of Bastion in business dispersed garage structures. This problem is alleviated by optimal sizing as it results in reliable and cost-effective systems. Using PV systems in Iraq can help resolve the power generation deficiency. This country enjoys an ample amount of solar radiation all throughout the year making it suitable for PV applications. Previous PV system sizing and feasibility studies, which have been conducted for Iraq, is rather inaccurate as they either incorporated simple equations or synthetized weather data along with simple mathematical models. In this paper, more rigorous system models, as well as measured meteorological data, were used to achieve more accurate sizing results, thus allowing a more realistic techno-economic feasibility analysis to be done. The optimal system, for an average load of 10 (KWh/day), consisted of 38 PV panels of 120 (Wp) each, a 16 110 (Ah) battery bank, one 1000 (W) inverter and four 100 (A) charge controllers in parallel. The unit cost of the generated electricity was estimated to be 0.1729 ($/KWh) which is still higher than the maximum tariff of the national grid (0.1 $/KWh).","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"126 1","pages":"364-372"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76265915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a face recognition system using Kernel Discriminant Analysis (KDA) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) with K-nearest neighbor (KNN) methods is presented. The kernel discriminates analysis is applied for extracting features from input images. Furthermore, SVM and KNN are employed to classify the face image based on the extracted features. This procedure is applied on each of Yale and ORL databases to evaluate the performance of the suggested system. The experimental results show that the system has a high recognition rate with accuracy up to 95.25% on the Yale database and 96% on the ORL, which are considered very good results comparing with other reported face recognition systems.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"18 1","pages":"335-338"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75304778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously, the gold mineralization in Muteh was interpreted to be formed in Precambrian. However, recent geological models propose younger age, i.e., late Eocene, for the gold mineralization, therefore, the geologic units of age and older than late Eocene can be considered as targets for gold exploration. The objective of this paper is to investigate Muteh type gold mineralization potential in the area with respect to the new geological models. Statistical analysis of 644 stream sediment samples was used to determine anomalous concentrations Au and elemental correlations of Au geochemical pathfinders. Using the factor analysis, an eight-factor model was established for the stream sediment geochemical data explaining 74.76% of the total variance. Factor 4 was found to be representative of Al-Ca-Na-K-P, which defines the lithological variation in the data. Factor 6 represents the variation of Pb-Ag-Sb-Ba-Tl, which is related to the hydrothermal mineralization. The factor 7 includes Au-S-Mo and is representative of regional geochemical patterns of gold. The correlation of Au with S and Mo signifies the inclusions of Au in pyrite minerals of Muteh mine. Factor 7 specifies three exploration targets. Moreover, the fourth prospective area representing significant geochemical signatures for gold mineralization was not detected in factor analysis. The results show that data reduction techniques, such as factor analysis, have great potential for geochemical applications; however, it is essential to perform careful analysis in addition to using these techniques. Factor analysis highlights the regional geochemical patterns and may slight the smaller subsystems.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"325-334"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86677864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
