It deals with all type of construction industry types such as small house, malls, and huge buildings. Many accidents can be happened in the sites, so it is important that appropriate measure are taken into consideration to help in curbing the menace to improve safety in the working environment both within and the surrounding. The researchers concluded that the risks which can be avoided should be avoided to reduce the number of accidents that happen in the working environment. Rules and regulations that are clear and well understood by the workers are important in eliminating or reducing hazards experienced within the working environment. With adequate training and strict policies put in place, it is possible to deal with the risks at the workplace. The management should take responsibility and consider it as a necessity to introduce adequate measures and policies that can govern all activities undertaken in construction sites.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"14 1","pages":"315-320"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90472861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pushover analysis is an accepted method for seismic evaluation of existing structures as well as performance-based design of new structures. Regarding assumptions and limitations in pushover analysis, there is a need to estimate the error that would affect the accuracy of story drift. This paper investigates the validity of pushover analysis to predict story drift under different lateral load patterns. For this purpose, several reinforced concrete moment frames with different heights were analyzed using pushover and nonlinear time history analyses and obtained results were compared to evaluate the error level.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"5 1","pages":"296-302"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83400532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a comparative study of the well-established vector control technique and the model predictive current control technique as applied to the grid connected battery systems. An electrical equivalent model of the battery is modeled and integrated with the grid using a three- phase bidirectional converter. The comparative study is shown for bidirectional flow of power to charge/discharge the battery from the grid. Also, the effects of model predictive control versus vector control technique are analyzed at an event of grid fault. Asymmetrical and symmetrical grid fault is considered for the comparison. All the modeling and simulation is performed in PSCADTM/EMTDCTM. The results are plotted using MATLAB R2017a. The results show that the model predictive control technique performs as good as the vector control technique for a battery connected grid system.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"10 1","pages":"287-295"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-02-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87498169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though newer processors have the ability to handle high temperatures up to 80 or 100 degree C, CPU intensive applications or games may cause the CPU to go beyond the given safe temperatures and even reach the critical temperature. In order to protect the processor from damaging the manufacturers have built in a mechanism that causes the processor to throttle. Throttling reduces the frequency at which the processor is operating there by reducing the temperature. However throttling hinders the performance of the CPU for a certain period of time until it reaches under the limit of safe operating temperature. There are a lot of CPU air, liquid, coolers available in the market. However the one that do their jobs very well are either very expensive or bulky or require various arrangements to be made. This configuration discusses the integration of thermo-electric cooler with the already present on board PWM controller.","PeriodicalId":89778,"journal":{"name":"International journal of biomaterials research and engineering","volume":"63 1","pages":"263-265"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73714580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
