Larger defects usually lead to increased movement of the prosthesis, due to the compromised mucosal support and a longer edentulous span of the prosthesis. The article describes the prosthetic management of a patient following partial mandibular resection. The long span of missing teeth and the unavailability of a sufficient number of abutments are challenges for prostheses. This case report describes an inexpensive technique for the fabrication of attachment retained prosthesis over castable bar assembly for rehabilitating the long‑span Kennedy class IV situation.","PeriodicalId":77222,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pierre Fauchard Academy (Pierre Fauchard Academy. The occurrence of dual lesions containing Central Giant Cell Lesion (CGCL) and fibro-osseous lesions has been recorded in the literature. Although many similar cases have been reported the pathophysiology of such lesions is yet not well understood. Furthermore, their clinical behaviour and treatment guidelines are also not clearly outlined. Presented here is a unique case of a 17-years old male with a hybrid lesion with a triad of pathological entities, Ossifying fibroma, CGCL and aneurysmal bone cyst. The clinical presentation, pathogenesis and behaviour of the reported lesion are comprehensively explained. The orthodontic management of the tooth depends on its position and in many cases, the orthodontic guidance is graded difficult with poor prognosis. Autotransplantation of canine is a viable option in such cases if the tooth can be atraumatically removed. The case reports a young female with an impacted maxillary canine, which was graded difficult. Its prognosis depends on time management and a proper treatment plan. The most favoured treatment of choice after avulsion is reimplantation, but cannot always be carried out immediately. A case of reimplantation of maxillary central incisors which got accidentally avulsed in a 14-yearold boy is reported. The teeth were reimplanted back into the alveolar socket and splinting with 23 gauge stainless steel wire and composite was performed. Follow-up at 7 and 15 months of the interval was done. After 15 months of follow-up, no symptoms of pain or mobility of the teeth were seen. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of any CTD would help identify the associated disorders and is beneficial in preventing severe complications at a later age. Non-specific clinical presentations have made it challenging for both medical and dental practitioners in diagnosing and treating CTDs. Oral manifestations of systemic diseases help in the early diagnosis of certain diseases. Hence it is extremely important for dentists to carefully observe the patient complaints and define the diagnosis. Study Design: Study included total 30 patients of clinically diagnosed cases of leukoplakia; homogenous leukoplakia (n = 15) and non-homogenous leukoplakia (n = 15). Material and Method: Homogenous leukoplakia patients were given treatment of topical A-RET gel and antioxidant, while non homogenous leukoplakia patients were surgically treated by diode laser. Patients were followed up for healing after diode laser. Results: Total regression was reported in almost all cases of homogenous leukoplakia within one month, without any recurrence. Speckled leukoplakia and buccal mucosa showed faster healing as compared to other types of nonhomogenous leukoplakia with laser. Conclusion: A-RET gel and diode laser gives excellent results in homogenous and non homogenous leukoplakia cases respectively. The aim of this scoping review is to provide a systematic review of the existing literature on the effects of e-cigarettes on human oral health and oral tissues. Methodology: Systematic literature search was undertaken and reviewed independently by two experts in online databases till May 2019. Both human and invitro studies were included. Guidelines of preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses for scoping reviews (PRISMA-ScR) were followed for reporting of the data. Results: A total of 24 studies were included following removal of duplicates, title and abstract screening and; full text screening. E-cigarettes have deleterious effects on the oral cavity tissues comprising of clinical findings of periodontium, gingiva, oral hygiene and micro-organism growth. In addition, there is a threat of serious injuries associated with e-cigarette explosion. In-vitro studies reveal e-cigarette use may lead to oxidative damage, altered morphology, reduced cell viability and cytotoxicity of oral epithelial and fibroblast cells. Conclusions: Though e-cigarettes have been found to be less harmful than the conventional cigarette smoking, there is a need to exercise caution while considering it as a smoking cessation tool. Longitudinal population-based studies are required for analyzing its in-vivo effect on oral tissues.","PeriodicalId":77222,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Pierre Fauchard Academy (Pierre Fauchard Academy. It is important to visualize the severity of curvature in a preoperative radiograph for successful treatment. Negotiation of such curvature requires coronal preflaring and precurved instruments. Controlled memory Ni-Ti files (Hyflex EDM) can be precurved and used with passive Tactile Controlled Activation (TCA) to negotiate the severe root canal curvatures.
