A total of 120 patients were studied. They were randomly divided into four groups -Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D. Group A received topical 5% permethrin and oral placebo. Group B was given topical placebo cream and oral ivermectin in two dose regimen. Group C received topical 1% gamma benzene hexachloride with oral placebo, and Group D was given topical 5% permethrin and oral ivermectin. The improvement of lesions and pruritus were assessed in the next three follow-ups, i.e., on the 7th day, 14th day, and 28th day along with any adverse drug reactions (ADRs). It was found that Group A had 83%, 90%, 97%, and Group B had 70%, 81%, and 91% improvement of lesions in the three follow-ups respectively. Group C showed 57%, 70%, 86%, and Group D had 82%, 90%, 97% efficiency to decrease lesion count (p>0.05) respectively. Again, Group A observed 77%, 88%, and 94% improvement in pruritus in subsequent follow-ups, while for Group B it was 63%, 76%, and 86%. Group C had 55%, 71%, 85% efficiency, and Group D had recorded 77%, 88%, and 94% improvement to decrease pruritus (p>0.05). The incidence of adverse effects was found to be less in Group B, Group C, and Group D when compared to Group A.\u0000\u0000\u0000CONCLUSION\u0000Group D or a combination therapy was a better choice for scabies in comparison to other monotherapy due to its better efficacy and safety profile.
Journal of population therapeutics and clinical pharmacology = Journal de la therapeutique des populations et de la pharmacologie clinique

In this study, this stage was a target stage to investigate women with precancerous lesions by applying the Papanicolaou (Pap) smear test and comduct performing a correlation study.s.\u0000\u0000\u0000PATIENTS AND METHODS\u0000A 2-year cross-sectional study was conducted, in which 200 married women (21-60 years old) participated in the investigation, which included women with Pap test abnormal results (atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS), low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSILs), and high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSILs)). These results were used to perform a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test to detect the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) of (6 and 11), a low-risk type, and (16 and 18), a high-risk type with colposcopy examination and colposcopy-guided biopsy, if needed for women with abnormal colposcopy outcomes. The treatment, per severity and disease stage, was applied.\u0000\u0000\u0000RESULTS\u0000The clinical presentation and Pap smear results of women enrolled in the study were as follows: 82.5% women were asymptomatic, postcoital bleeding (PCB) was seen in 17.0%, and intermenstrual bleeding was seen in a single case (0.5%). The history of sexually transmitted diseases was seen in 2.5% of the subjects. Pap smear results were as follows: no remarkable pathology was seen in 36.0%, inflammatory evidence was seen in 32.0%, ASCUS was seen in 19.0%, LSIL was seen in 7.5%, and HSIL was seen in 5.5% of the subjects. Regarding the HPV, the infection was negative in 95.0%, low-risk virus strains were seen in 1.5%, and high-risk viruses were seen in 3.5%. Low-risk HPV included 6, 11, and 42, whereas the high-risk group included five cases of HPV16 and two cases of HPV 18.\u0000\u0000\u0000CONCLUSIONS\u0000The present work presents the Pap smear test as a highly useful, easy, technically safe, and cost-effective tool for detecting cervical epithelial precancerous lesions, which can be used as a routine screening technique for better treatment outcomes and reducing mortality rates. The power of detection of these lesions can be potentiated when using the Pap test and HPV-PCR test together.
Journal of population therapeutics and clinical pharmacology = Journal de la therapeutique des populations et de la pharmacologie clinique

Efficient AD therapy is a major challenge in biological studies. Alzheimer's condition cannot be cured with any particular medication. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of multidisciplinary collaborative nursing and cognitive stimulation therapy (MCN- CST) on daily activities, quality of life, and cognitive performance in AD patients. The inclusion/exclusion method is initially used to gather information about AD patients. Control and investigative teams were formed with its own set of functions. The control group gets a regular course of treatment, whereas, the investigation group receives MCN-CST. To ensure that our study is as practical and useful, we compare our findings to existing nursing approaches. The ANOVA and Chi-Square tests are used to assess the conditions of Alzheimer's patients. There was a scientifically significant improvement in the overall level of their medical condition after implementing MCN-CST. Nursing protocols developed MCN-CST is beneficial in improving patients' quality of life, cognitive function, and daily activities. A stimulation of reparative processes in the cornea was observed with the test dose of drug No. 1. This was manifested by accelerating the recovery of defects in the anterior epithelium and stroma, reducing the frequency of formation of deep defects and the severity of inflammatory reaction and vascularization, and inhibiting the formation of turbidity of its lower intensity and area. A tendency to restore laminarity of the stroma was determined by the action of drug No. 1 throughout the observation period. This contributed to a decrease in the degree of vascularization and prevented ulceration and perforation of the cornea. By the end of experiment, a restoration of strong epithelial-stromal relationships in the experimental group, compared to the control group, was observed due to formation of normal architectonics of fibrous components of intercellular substance. A more pronounced proliferative activity, with an increase in the layering of limbal epithelial cells, was noted in the limbal zone of the cornea in the experimental group rabbits compared to the control group.
Journal of population therapeutics and clinical pharmacology = Journal de la therapeutique des populations et de la pharmacologie clinique

Limitations on the utilization of pharmacological therapy for Alzheimer's disease in China have corresponded with this surge in greater studies in the field. For individuals who have Alzheimer's disease, cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) is a quick self-help that is founded on the theories of quality and cognitive functioning. People with Alzheimer's disease often participate in cognitive behavioral programs; however, their expense has never been studied. Being part of a meta-analysis, we analyze the application effectiveness of a CST program that is based on recent research for Alzheimer's disease patients. A CST group therapy was given to 91 Alzheimer's patients, who resided in healthcare settings or the general public, multiple times per week for 8 weeks; the other 70 people with Alzheimer's disease got a medical therapy. Costs were computed, and resource utilization was tracked for 8 weeks both before and after the therapy. It was determined by a value study. In the value study, cognition and quality of life were the major and tertiary outcomes, respectively. Contours of cost-effectiveness and acceptance were drawn. It was driven based on expert consultation and semistructured interviews. In Alzheimer's disease, CST improves intelligence and standard of living, and there was no difference in implementation expenditures between the categories. Regarding both outcome metrics, there is a significant chance that CST seems to be more expensive than conventional therapy within realistic expectations. The efficacy of CST for Alzheimer's patients is superior to conventional treatment, and it could be the greater value. The outcomes contrast well with pharmacological studies for Alzheimer's. Many people with Alzheimer's disease may benefit significantly from CST groups.

Journal of population therapeutics and clinical pharmacology = Journal de la therapeutique des populations et de la pharmacologie clinique
