One of the important assets in smart grids is the presence of flexible loads such as electric vehicle (EV) loads which enables better grid operation and control. EV loads can help mitigate the intermittent nature of renewable energies if they are adopted in adequate amount, but their volume to date is not sufficient. To promote wide EV adoption much faster, a strong EV charging infrastructure is needed. However, the locations of charging stations on the distribution and the transportation networks affect networks performances. Thus, it is crucial to plan the location according to both networks rather than considering one and ignoring the other. In this paper, Sioux Falls transportation network and IEEE 33-bus system are used to locate the stations optimally by using Differential Evolution (DE) optimization algorithm. It is found that the optimal co-planning can maintain the enhance the operation of the distribution network.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"146 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80527327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to dielectric non-idealities, Eddy current losses, and hysteresis effects. This fact has motivated many studies on the modeling and analysis of FO converters, ie., converters with fractional capacitors and inductors. On the other hand, parameter identification of power electronic systems is an area of increasing importance. This is due to its application to adaptive control and condition monitoring. This paper investigates the problem of parameter identification of FO buck converter in continuous conduction mode (CCM). To this end, the Trigeassou approximation of the FO integral is compared with the predict-evaluate-correct-evaluate (PECE) method to justify its use in this model in terms of accuracy and computation time. The identification problem is formulated based on non-invasive measurement quantities (input current and output voltage). Four cases of synthetic data, with added noise, are used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed identification procedure. The cuckoo search optimizer (CSO) is used to identify the parameters, and it demonstrates outstanding consistency and accuracy in the results across independent runs.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"2009 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86259609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Phase shifting Transformers (PST) are used in power transmission systems to control the flow of active power and reactive power management. The optimal location of PST for controlling and scheduling the power flows in the network is the main objective of this work. A Linear search approach is used to determine the optimal locations and taps for the PST to control line power flow. Contingency Analysis (CA) is employed to identify lines that are more sensitive to faults. The proposed method is also compared with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for finding the optimal location and tap of PST. Modeling and simulation are performed in Digsilent PowerFactory and python programming language. Considering the coupling effect between SOC and SOH, the DEKF is designed to achieve the synergistic estimation to obtain better estimation results. To offset for the model error of the extended Kalman filter (EKF), a BP neural network is introduced for correction to further improve the SOC and SOH estimation accuracy. Under hybrid pulse power characterization (HPPC) working condition, the maximum and root-mean-square errors of SOC and SOH are 1.02%, 0.19% and 0.27%, 0.20%, respectively. The corresponding results are 1.03%, 0.62% and 0.083%, 0.057% under Beijing bus dynamic stress test (BBDST) working condition, respectively. Condition monitoring is the key technique to predicting the health status and increasing the availability of PV panels. This paper proposes the Feature Fingerprint Intervals (FFI) method to monitor the degradation conditions of PV panels. The proposed approach is sensitive to the degradation mechanisms of PV panels. The prediction indicator, the amplitude of impedance spectroscopy, at FFI will be acquired directly from impedance spectroscopy while performing the online monitoring of PV panels. The health status of PV panels can be predicted based on the variation of the amplitude values of impedance spectroscopy at the FFI compared with the reference values. The proposed approach can support the accurate condition monitoring of PV panels.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"64 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86127653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper first presents an optimisation approach for determining the maximum penetration of electric vehicles that can be accommodated within a distribution network in conjunction with renewable energy and battery storage. An alternative approach, utilising Network Impact Tokens is then introduced, simplifying the original Optimisation approach while providing accurate results. The electric vehicle hosting capacity of the network is then analysed with increasing penetration of solar generation, battery storage and the use of V2G, showing that distributed generation can increase the electric vehicle capacity by up to 38%.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"7 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76506097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these fault currents possess different characteristics compared with those injected by traditional sources. Thus, conventional relays are susceptible to failure when fault currents are emanated from IBRs. This paper proposes a dual current control (DCC) to allow correct operation for the conventional current-angle-based phase selection method (PSM) without violating reactive current requirements imposed by GCs. The proposed method is designed in four stages. First, the positive-sequence current reference is determined according to GCs. Then, an initial negative-sequence current angle reference is determined to impose the relative angle between the negative- and zero-sequence currents to equal the bisector of its correct PSM zone. Subsequently, the reference negative- and positive-sequence current angles are updated such that the relative angle between the negative- and positive-sequence currents and that between the negative- and zero-sequence currents are placed in their correct PSMs zones. Lastly, stationary frame reference currents are designed and controlled to force IBR’s current to possess the designed sequence current angles without violating its current limits. Time-domain simulations are carried out for different fault types, locations, and resistances to verify the accuracy of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"88 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74950597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The smart grid-transport nexus includes two major elements, which are the transport network elements, including Electric Vehicles (EVs) and their Charging Stations (EVCSs), and the smart grid network elements, including the generation nodes and the demand nodes. The aim of this paper is to study the cyber security aspects of the smart grid and transportation system while operating in a nexus. This was done by modeling and simulating the transient stability effects of demand side cyberattacks (load alteration and arranged EV discharging attacks) on the conventional generators-based nexus and on the renewable energy generation (solar PV system) and conventional generatorsbased nexus, respectively. The results have demonstrated that demand side cyber-attacks can cause complete system failure and blackouts and are more lethal to a smart grid-transport nexus that includes conventional generators and renewable energy generation units due to its lower inertia compared to a nexus that has conventional generators only. Additionally, the conventional generators-based nexus may not require the addition of cyberattacks’ detection or mitigation schemes which reduces the system complexity and cost.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"21 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82606428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
