However, the deployment of P2P trading for networked microgrids (MGs) poses a number of challenges particularly in modeling a fair negotiation and pricing mechanism. In this paper, a multi-agent based- P2P energy trading model for interconnected microgrids is developed in a day-ahead market. Furthermore, the study investigates the impact of the complementary nature between the PV-based MG and Wind-based MG on the trading mechanism. Simulation results have confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed model.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"45 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74930386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent decades, the electric vehicle (EV) industry is booming, which highly influences the performance of renewable energy integration. Therefore, it is desired to induce EVs to consume more renewable energy in an orderly manner. To this end, this paper proposes an assessment method for the renewable energy share of an EV’s consumption, which could be used as an important metric for demand-side management and integrating RES. First, we present several indicators for the EV charging and system-wide RES integration. Then, the marginal contribution metric is leveraged to assess the renewable energy share of the EV’s consumption considering both charging and discharging modes. Finally, the case study is conducted based on load data from OpenEI and RES outputs from PJM. The results corroborated the effectiveness of the proposed method and demonstrate that EVs can obtain higher renewable energy share when their charging rhythm coincide with the profiles of RES. Hence, EVs can increase their renewable energy share through proper load shifting and facilitate integrating RES.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"26 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84426138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parametric Families of Probability Distributions (PFPDs) have been popular choices in the literature. These, however, apply certain assumptions that are too restrictive and may often end up in wrong model identification. To mitigate these limitations, Nonparametric Family of Probability Distributions (NPFPDs), such as the Kernel Density Estimation (KDE), have been considered in recent power systems studies. In this article, three popular PFPDs (Rayleigh, Weibull and Gaussian), and two recently suggested PFPDs for power systems studies (Birnbaum-Saunders and Nakagami-m) are assessed and compared with the KDE approach using Ruleof-Thumb (ROT) for bandwidth estimation. The resulting probabilistic wind speeds are then used to estimate the productivity of the wind turbine by means of energy yield. Results show that PFPDs produced high error values; leading to inaccurate decisions when conducting power systems planning studies. In contrast, the KDE-ROT estimator achieved the lowest estimated absolute error. As such, nonparametric approaches present better candidates for accurately estimating wind turbine energy.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82139111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transportation is one of the important sectors, responsible for emitting about 17 percent of GHGs and other harmful gases globally. To overcome the same and supplement battery electric vehicles, hydrogen is proposed as the fuel of the future for the transportation sector. It can either be burnt in internal combustion engines or used in fuel-cell electric vehicles. Many countries support the research and development of hydrogen-powered vehicles due to their climate-friendly attributes. In this direction, this review paper aims to compile hydrogen policies and roadmaps related to the mobility sector from different countries. The paper also presents the scope of hydrogen as a sustainable fuel in India, exploring its socio-economic aspects and deployment scenarios.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"64 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87831540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A key component of smart grid cyber security is integrity, which refers to being able to protect information from unauthorized manipulation. These attacks in smart grid are referred to as Load Redistribution (LR) attacks, which are a specific type of False Data Injection Attacks (FDIA). It is a more realistic attack that compromises the data integrity of the measurements. Since the first research on LR attacks was published in 2011, research into LR-based cyber-attacks has grown significantly. As part of the development of coordinated and concerted studies in this field, this paper provides a comprehensive presentation of LR attack taxonomies. The various attributes of the LR attack have also been mapped against the existing literature. Finally, some open issues and research directions are outlined to guide future research and influence further exploration of this ever-expanding area.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"17 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86193955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article offers a modified version of the IEEE 39-bus system specifically created to allow zonal day-ahead market (ZDAM) simulations. The system representation is based on the original version of the IEEE 39-bus system but considers the integration of renewable energy resources (RES) in the generation mix: solar and wind. Hourly time series are used to define load profiles and wind and solar power generation. The zonal dayahead energy market information has been created by solving the optimisation problem. Achieving this goal requires both insights into the drivers of present energy demand and foresight into how it will evolve in the future. This information on the demand side is also vital in planning a supply system that relies on affordable, reliable and sustainable energy as much as possible. Unfortunately, in most low- and medium-income countries, data availability on both demand and supply sides remains extremely limited, which complicates downstream operation. In this paper, we analyze overall electricity demand in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan and one of the largest in the world. The city, with its cooling-dominated climate, experiences large and rapidly growing electricity demand during the summer period. We also discuss how climate change, socioeconomic factors, and distributed generation through renewable energy have influenced the demand historically, and provide insights into its future evolution.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"68 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80739640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of blockchain solutions and applications is growing rapidly which include finance, supply chain management, digital identity, energy, healthcare, and real estate. Due to the rapid economic recovery, global weather variations, maintenance delays caused by the pandemic, and earlier decisions by oil and gas companies to cut investments, energy costs have increased since 2021. Through limiting consumer prices and compensating energy providers for the shortfall, governments are aiming to lessen the impact of increase energy prices on citizens and businesses. The utilization of energy using Blockchain technology, where peer-topeer (P2P) energy trading on local and global energy markets could be enabled, can be an enabler to resolve energy shortage and increasing prices. Currently, National Information Security Standards and International Information Security Standards lack a framework to manage and govern information security controls for P2P energy trading using Blockchain technology. This paper proposes information security controls to complement existing Standards that will enable proper governance of P2P energy trading and discusses associated risks.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"53 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85157567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These improvements offer better monitoring, control, and protection for effective power flow management in the electrical network. These dependencies of information hamper the system's operation in the existence of any cyber-attacks. The effect of these attacks must be mitigated by compensating for these attacks so that normality can be restored. This work tests an H infinity-based filtering technique to detect the attack signal like step and sine attacks. The test is performed in a two-area power system connected through a tie-line for power exchange. Automatic generation control (AGC) tries to maintain the frequency to a nominal value by providing the essential area control error (ACE) signals to the area controllers. The proposed filter works better than the Kalman fflter in the presence of non-Gaussian noises, also with high noise magnitudes. Further validation is camed out in a test environment consisting of a real-time digtal simulator (RTDS) and Raspberry Pi 4 board connected through an Ethernet]ink. First, each sub-group is defined according to the communication principle. The global resource allocation can be solved by introducing the local shadow power demand. Then, for the general market clearing optimization problem, a distributed dynamic consensus algorithm is presented to estimate the general equality constraint. The optimal locational marginal price (LMP) and power allocation in each sub-group are obtained in this step. Finally, the optimal solution is corrected when considering the transmission constraint. A theoretical analysis of the DSDC framework is provided.
