From the perspective of load contribution to new energy consumption, this paper proposes a time-space coupled discrete analysis method for carbon flow distribution in power systems. First of all, a basic discrete analysis theory of carbon flow distribution suitable for multi-period, process-oriented, and real-time evaluation is established, and carbon emission responsibility allocation is extended from a single time section to multiple continuous time sections. Secondly, considering the space-time coupling characteristics of power supply and load in a period, a calculation algorithm for the synchronization rate of load and new energy output is proposed. Finally, based on the synchronization rate, a carbon emission responsibility allocation mechanism and allocation model that takes into account the contribution of new energy consumption are established to realize the traceability of carbon emissions and the solution of carbon emissions of nodes and lines. The results of the calculation example show that the discrete analysis theory and calculation method proposed in this paper can achieve the system power flow balance and carbon balance.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"51 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84479018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rise of smart meters across consumers, and industries led to a massive collection of fine-grained energy and electricity consumption-related data. A data science challenge is to analyze the Smart Meter data for the benefit of both the energy providers and the consumers. In this paper, An attempt has been made to analyze the smart meter collected from the IIT Hyderabad campus and presented the analysis into descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. The data collected from more than 50 meters over a period of one year have been analyzed and results obtained. Interesting trends such as the impact of COVID-19 on campus energy consumption have been examined. The framework for energy data analytics presented in this paper will be useful for any campus in general, and the recommendations presented will save energy expenses.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"56 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81489961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some IBGs are connected to the distribution networks close to customers to minimize transmission losses. IBGs can be designed to operate in gridconnected and islanding modes to improve the continuity of the power supply. The fault current contribution of conventional generators reaches more than eight p.u. while the fault current of IBGs is limited to less than twice the rated current. The change in the system configuration from grid-connected operation to islanding operation creates different system fault current magnitude. Accordingly, the setting of conventional overcurrent protection to detect faults during both operating modes is a real technical challenge. The paper proposes a simple and economic overcurrent protection scheme with two different settings groups to detect electrical faults in distribution networks with high IBGs penetration. The instantaneous overcurrent function is included in the proposed scheme to automatically select the required overcurrent settings group based on the fault current of the operating mode. The impact of the fault current variation on conventional overcurrent protection and the proposed scheme effectiveness were demonstrated on a modified IEEE 13-bus distribution system using the MATLAB/SIMULINK software.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"15 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74211049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Film capacitors are recently preferred in grid-connected converters due to their reliability. However, the system stability might be significantly influenced by the small capacitance per unit volume of the dc-link film capacitors. A complete state-space model is developed to accurately evaluate the system stability at different operating conditions, such as high PV dynamic resistance, reduced dc-link capacitance, and weak-grid operations. New effective active compensators are proposed to stabilize the entire system by reshaping the model transfer functions. The proposed compensators have the following features: 1) they can be implemented using linear analysis tools, 2) they do not interact with the steady-state performance, and 3) they facilitate successful low-voltage ride-through and provide a dynamic and stable operation at different operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"88 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83896120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, RES are environmental attentive solution since, it provides low carbon emissions. However, RES have several associated challenges such as its intermittence nature and the form of generated power. The unpredicted RES output power is a significant challenge for power system schedulers and operators. Many researches have proposed a few solutions to maximize the benefit of utilizing RES in the power network and reduce the negative operational impacts. In this paper, a solution of economic dispatch and unit commitment problem which includes conventional and RES is proposed. The IEEE 14 Bus system is used to model, investigate and validate the proposed solution. Four different scenarios that consider the integration of RES have been evaluated toward the minimum operation cost using a two-stage differential evolution algorithm. The first scenario considers the operation cost of the power system that has only conventional generators. While the second and third scenarios have considered the power system operation costs when replacing one of the conventional generators by photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine (WT) plants, respectively. The last, scenario is a hybrid case that considers the integration of one PV plant and one WT farm instead of two conventional generators. The study outcomes show that the one-day operation cost of the hybrid scenario is the most expensive one. Whereas the one-day operation cost of the third scenario has the minimum operation cost over all other scenarios.","PeriodicalId":69792,"journal":{"name":"中东研究","volume":"173 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76644235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
