We show quantitatively that inflation is an influential factor making either a benign or adverse effect on the firm’s survival, supporting at the microeconomic level New Keynesian findings of the nonlinear inflation effect on output growth. Lower inflation increasing the firm’s expected rate of return can raise its mean year returns and decrease its default probability. Higher inflation, decreasing the expected rate return, makes the opposite effect. The magnitude of the adverse effect depends on the firm strength: for a steady firm, this effect is small, whereas for a weaker firm, it can be fatal. EMM is the only model taking account of inflation. It can be useful for banks or insurance companies estimating credit risks of commercial borrowers over the debt maturity, and for the firm’s management planning long-term business operations.","PeriodicalId":69282,"journal":{"name":"管理研究:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47958769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes processes intended to improve organisational effectiveness and it describes the convergence of people, processes, and systems. However, its application is limited to the development of technology for document repository and sharing. To promote new ways of approaching KM, this paper focuses on four knowledge topics: the use of human capital, social capital, structural capital, and artificial intelligence. Accepting that the four components of KM: people, processes, tools, and organisation, are interdependent, nested, and porous, then getting relevant knowledge to those who need it, when they need it, is critical for knowledge transfer. This paper considers whether the recovery of forgotten knowledge will create value for organisations. It proposes a new holistic framework to enhance the transferability of tacit and implicit knowledge in emergency relief organisations. It considers the application of artificial intelligence in the aid sector as a means of achieving this, and it proposes its use for providing ready-to-use knowledge for decision making in emergencies. Using a quantitative and qualitative research approach, this research resolves several ambiguities in the application of the KM discipline within emergency relief organisations. It found that there is no relationship between the employees’ age and their attitude to communicating across organisational boundaries to exchange knowledge, yet age is a factor in the use of organisational social networks as a communication tool. Further, it found little difference in the way employees of various designations comprehend the human, structural, and social capital elements of an organisation, yet the importance, selection, and use of each of these elements is dependent on the employees’ designation and/or position in the organisational hierarchy. Finally, it found that age is a key factor in the frequency of changing jobs, which contributes to the loss of tacit and implicit knowledge in aid organisations. This paper concludes by providing recommendations for action within each of the five knowledge sharing dimensions: individual, social, managerial, cultural, and structural.","PeriodicalId":69282,"journal":{"name":"管理研究:英文版","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67579739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Leadership in the health sector has become a key point in improving patient safety and health management as a whole. Delivering effective health care services to patients may be more efficient when health care professionals unite and act as a single body that is patient oriented. By developing a structure where leadership influences health management, the outcome of services rendered to patients is being greatly ameliorated. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has outlined a number of actions which health care organizations need to implement in order to improve patient safety. The Baldrige National Quality Program also recognizes the importance of leaders and has stated the roles of leaders and what is expected of them in order to achieve excellence in health care. Leadership models are the fundamentals of leadership, which determine whether the objectives will be met as in the interest of the organization. This research was aimed to determine the impact of leadership on health management. This explores the characteristics of a leader, leadership styles that may be implemented, and their effect on outcome in a health care organization.","PeriodicalId":69282,"journal":{"name":"管理研究:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41762960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The descriptive article however narrates the neo-engagement rule via which international businesses have been being dictated by the mighty geo-politician players across the globe for last seven decades or so. The study conducted exclusive research and gathered evidences about the influences of geopolitics on international business, especially the fluctuating dynamics of oil and arms tradeoff between the allies of United Kingdom (UK) and United States (US) across the international business fraternity through various disrupting periods of recent history, which ultimately transformed the patterns of world trade and the connotation of “Islamophobia” across continents. The study further emphasized the trade mindsets for selling war in the name of keeping peace across the most vulnerable corners of the Mediterranean. The result of the study unearthed the truths and realities behind the lately designed deceptive label of “world peace”, in the name of profit-generating business goals through war-games among key imperialists of the post Nazi German era.","PeriodicalId":69282,"journal":{"name":"管理研究:英文版","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45935285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study proposes three models to examine the influencing factors of Taiwan’s FDIs in China by combining the location advantages of the host country, the economy and politics of the home country, and network relationship in bilateral and regional trade agreements: First, analyze the location distribution of Taiwan’s FDIs in China’s six regions; Second, analyze the location determinants of Taiwan’s main sectors’ (manufacturing and service) FDIs in China; Third, analyze the location determinants of Taiwan’s high-tech industries’ FDIs in China’s six regions. The estimated results show that bilateral trade agreement seems to have positive effects on Taiwan’s FDIs in China, while regional trade agreement seems to have negative effects. In Taiwan’s political form, the ruling party with characteristics of political defense against China seems to have negative effects on most of Taiwan’s industries (except manufacturing) and the overall FDIs in China. In terms of China’s relevant economic factors, the main determinants of Taiwan’s high-tech industries’ FDIs in the major regions of Eastern and South Central of China are infrastructure and high-level human capital resources. China’s GDP growth and increase in unit labor cost have negative effects on FDIs in most regions of China. This implies that the advantage of low wages in China Factory may gradually decline. This study provides some references and implications for future research and policy makers for the analysis of relevant influencing factors of FDI. and distribution of FDIs by combining the influencing factors of the economy, politics (political party alternations in the presidential election) and industries’ characteristics of the home country, network relationships (ECFA, RCEP), and the host country related economic factors. This study proposes three models to explore the influencing factor of Taiwan’s FDIs in China’s internal regions: First, analyze the location distribution (China’s six regions) of the longer term (1991-2017), total amount of FDIs in China. Second, analyze the location determinants of Taiwan’s main sectors’ FDIs in China. Third, analyze the location determinants of Taiwan’s high-tech industries’ FDIs in China’s six regions.
