The performance is expected to achieve the short term stability of $3.8times 10^{-16}$ at 1 s and long-term stability of 10−18 magnitude. Also, the linewidth is expected to reach the quantum limited linewidth with the frequency shift of $7.1times 10^{-5} text{Hz}/mathrm{s}$. The system includes four main technologies: dual-wavelength active optical clock, Pound-Drever-Hall technique, phase-stabilized femtosecond laser comb and high speed feedback technique. The cavity length is relocked through slow and fast feedback to two piezoelectric translators of the main-cavity. Therefore, the residual cavity-pulling effect influencing the long-term frequency stability in four-level active optical clock can be suppressed by square times of the bad-cavity coefficient. The frequency stability and the frequency shift of the active optical frequency standard are expected to be two orders and four orders of magnitude better than the ultra-stable reference cavity laser, respectively.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"12 2 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78133421","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, a CC-beam oxide-rich resonator based on a CMOS-MEMS process platform exhibits higher frequency stability at the bifurcation points in the nonlinear tapping frequency transmissions, yielding a ∼2× improvement of short-term Allen deviation compared to that at the midpoint of the tapping regime and that operating under the regular nonlinear spring softening (not entering the tapping mode yet). Differing from the previous studies on stability of MEMS resonators in either nonlinear softening or hardening condition [1] [2], this work explores the frequency stability deeper into the tapping mode of MEMS resonators—essentially behaving as resoswitches with no electrical current flowing through the contact—where the devices are subject to highly nonlinear repulsive forces due to impact. The results would help facilitate not only the understanding of the nonlinear dynamics of resoswitches but also the determination of optimum operating points of the devices.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"136 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76386966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We unexpectedly found that polarization mode dispersion (PMD) can have detrimental effects on the COEO performances. Indeed, with a 400 m SMF fiber spool in the optical cavity, a phase noise level as low as −115 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset frequency was obtained. Conversely, with a PMF fiber spool, only a phase noise level as low as −100 dBc/Hz and −70 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset frequency for a 200 m PMF and 400 m PMF could be obtained respectively. PMD sets therefore an upper limit on the length of the PMF fiber that could be used.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"19 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81185018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretical investigation identifying Lamb wave types by Finite Element Modeling as well as by direct solution of the characteristic equations has been fulfilled. Resonance curves for Lamb-like waves have a higher quality factor $Q$ compared to surface acoustic waves propagating on the same substrates. We observed experimentally an unusual effect of a significant increasing in $Q$-factor of Lamb wave resonance curves with frequency, from a value of 760 at 1.5 GHz to 3,400 at ∼7 GHz. It was shown that the peculiarities of Lamb wave excitation were closely connected with IDT diffraction effects.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"64 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90554464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the magnetic state selection cesium beam tube, the life of the electron multiplier should also be considered. With the development of technology, the effect of cesium adsorbent and the maintenance of vacuum degree on the life of the beam tube have been very small, as the commercial optical pumping cesium beam tube (OPCBT) adopts the method of optical detection, the life of OPCBT can be calculated without considering the influence of multiplier. Therefore, this article focuses on flow and distribution of cesium atoms ejected from the cesium oven of OPCBT, points out the quantitative relationship among the oven temperature, the amount of cesium elemental and the life of cesium beam tube. According to the distribution of cesium atom, the utilization ratio of cesium atom was obtained, which provides a theoretical basis for the design of OPCBT structure.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"34 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77821077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Continuing with earlier efforts, we went into details of vibrations of a finite quartz crystal plate for better frequency-temperature relation of a tribally-rotated cut with turnover temperature at about -75°C. The calculation is performed by using the Mindlin plate theory with the incremental thermal field theory. The analysis showed that the frequency-temperature is better than the SC-cut in the vicinity of turnover temperature.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"33 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75724447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The oscillator consists of an acoustic resonator in a closed loop with cascaded RF tuned amplifiers (TAs) built on TSMC RF GP 65 nm CMOS. The TAs bandpass response, set by on-chip inductors, satisfies the Bark-hausen's oscillation conditions for $A_{3}$ while suppressing the fundamental and higher-order resonances. The oscillator achieves a measured phase noise of −56 and −113 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz and 100 kHz offsets from an 8.6 GHz output while consuming 10.2 mW of dc power. The oscillator also attains a figure-of-merit of 201.6 dB at 100 kHz offset, surpassing the state-of-the-art (SoA) EM and RF-MEMS oscillators.","PeriodicalId":6872,"journal":{"name":"2020 Joint Conference of the IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium and International Symposium on Applications of Ferroelectrics (IFCS-ISAF)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82719305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
