THz time-domain spectroscopy was used to study their power transmission (PT) and extinction ratio (ER) in the range of 0.2–2 THz. A tandem structure of two polarizers patterned on top of 4-μm-thick polypropylene film showed the best overall characteristics: PT > 95%, while ER exceeded the system dynamic range which spanned from 107:1 to 104:1. The developed polarizers can be used for polarization-sensitive measurements of anisotropic and optically active materials.","PeriodicalId":6852,"journal":{"name":"2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"72 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77295602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, the metal gratings/Si Blocked-impurity-band (BIB) hybrid structure is proposed. Then, we fabricate two devices with different metallic gratings and one without metallic gratings. The three different devices can response to different wavebands. According to the Fourier spectrum result, the peak wavelengths of the three devices are 15.86, 18.92 and 26 μm, respectively. One of a pair of SFP optical module is used to process the digital signal generated by AWG (arbitrary waveform generator), which is transmitted by optical fiber for long distance. Another SFP optical module completes the photoelectric conversion of the signal and inputs the signal to the terahertz frequency conversion module for wireless transmission. The code rate is 1.25 Gbps, the carrier frequency is 300 GHz and the modulation mode is QPSK. The results were observed through the eye diagram of the signal received by the oscilloscope. The quality of the eye diagram is well, which indicates that the terahertz over fiber wireless communication has practical significance for indoor high-speed access and other application scenarios.","PeriodicalId":6852,"journal":{"name":"2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"15 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73537258","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ‘hot-test’ simulation shows that the magnetron is capable of delivering a maximum output power of 180 kW with an operation efficiency of 56.6% at 94.1GHz, under a moderate anode voltage of 31.9kV and magnetic field of 1.18Tesla.","PeriodicalId":6852,"journal":{"name":"2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"285 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76862223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
