Abstract

To satisfy the requirement of the RF output in mega-watts level of the 170GHz gyrotrons. A design of a two-stage depressed collector with the radial magnetic field for 1MW, 170GHz gyrotrons for increasing the efficiency and the power capacity of the tube has been presented. The simulation results indicate that the total efficiency of the tube with the design could increase from 31% to 89% significantly.
