The pump beam converted to the photon pair of counter-propagating THz-wave and co-propagating idler beam. The idler beams also acted as a pump beam for the cascaded THz-wave generation. The oscillation threshold of cascaded process was reduced 77% compared with the primary one thanks to the spectrum overlaps of counter-propagating THz waves. Furthermore, optical injection seeding to the first idler beam provided threshold reduction of the primary one. As the sinusoidal input travels along the line, its width shrinks, and high frequency harmonics are generated. Implemented in 65-nm CMOS technology and consuming no DC power, this chip generates and radiates a broadband frequency comb through its on-chip antenna that covers 20-700 GHz band with adjustable frequency space between the tones. Also, vibration signatures of amino acids that make up the RGD, the part of S1 protein responsible for adhesion, were studied by Terahertz (THz) time-domain, Infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopies in the low-frequency and in the fingerprint. THz metamaterials have been developed that increase the sensitivity of THz spectroscopy to the presence of both proteins. We have studied the spectra of amino acids, which play a role in the adhesion of proteins, on the metal surfaces of metamaterials, aluminum, and gold. Spectral differences were found between S and S1 proteins of SARS-CoV-2. For the first time, we have identified the type of radial distortion caused by such lenses. To this end, we measured all single-pixel far-field radiation patterns of a 15-mm diameter 2.75-mm extended hemispherical silicon lens-integrated 32×32-pixel CMOS camera at 0.652 THz. From this, a beam incidence angle grid has been generated, indicating barrel distortion. The measured beam incidence angle is compared to a previously published closed-form relation between scan angle and feed position for extended hemispherical lenses. We present the results of experimental studies on optimizing the intensity and diagram pattern of the THz radiation generated in cluster jet and demonstrate that under certain conditions of the jet excitation, it is possible to form a cluster filament that radiates THz waves with a maximum intensity along the direction of the laser beam propagation. To generate the SSPs propagating on a two-dimensional (2D) scale, the all-dielectric or dielectric-metal metasurfaces are generally exploited. However, the power capacity of the all-dielectric or dielectric-metal metasurfaces is relatively low. In this work, a 2D groove metal array is utilized to generate the SSPs. The dimension of the grooves is changed to possess the SSPs propagating on it. Based on this principle, a 2D half-Maxwell-fisheye lens is proposed utilizing the groove metal array, on which a spot on one side of the lens can diverge to a plane wave on the exit facet in the simulation. In this paper, we demonstrate the function of THz sensing by metasurface integrated with spintronic THz emitter. Through electromagnetic simulation, the resonant frequency point of metasurface was designed to be around 0.8 THz. Then the metasurface was fabricated on a quartz substrate and shared the substrate with a spintronic emitter. This integrated THz biosensor was used to measure the transmittance spectra of water, alcohol and olive oil. The solutions obtained can be realized using multicolor femtosecond pulses containing a field at the fundamental frequency and several of its initial harmonics. The amplitudes of odd harmonics in the optimal field are larger than those of neighboring even harmonics.
