Various types of integrated platforms have been directly scaled from either the microwave or optical domain, with benefits and drawbacks. Here, we discuss a concept of all-silicon components based on our recently proposed effective-medium-clad dielectric waveguides. The concept prioritizes bandwidth and efficiency, much needed in the terahertz domain. Auxiliary factors include cost and structural simplicity, which are also accounted for in this context. We demonstrate two generic components, namely filters and polarization splitters, that are fundamental to integrated systems.","PeriodicalId":6746,"journal":{"name":"2020 45th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"2 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75743100","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A computer code has been developed for calculating electromagnetic fields in the launcher. Based on this method, a launcher used for the gyrotron operating at 0.5THz-TE8,5 mode, has been designed and optimized. The results show that the fundamental Gaussian mode content (FGMC) of 99.26% of the RF wave beam is achieved at the aperture of launcher.","PeriodicalId":6746,"journal":{"name":"2020 45th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"8 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72975546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A transition from the trivial phase to the topological crystalline insulator phase occurs within this composition interval at $x=0.35$. The films had the crystallographic orientation $< 111 >$, for which the appearance of topologically nontrivial surface states is expected. It was found that in the trivial phase, the amplitude of the PEM effect is determined by the power of the incident radiation, while in the topological phase, the amplitude is proportional to the flux of laser radiation quanta. Possible mechanism leading to the observed effect is discussed.","PeriodicalId":6746,"journal":{"name":"2020 45th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"1 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73036112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These scattering processes result in the distorted or obscured resonant signatures, a frequency-dependent extinction loss, and the appearance of anomalous spectral artifacts, imposing severe challenges on the real-world automatic material characterization schemes. Although initial work has demonstrated impressive capabilities for acceleration and beam manipulation, the THz drivers used have been single-cycle pulses which are easier to generate at high field strengths, but are less favorable for scaling to long interaction lengths. Here we report, for the first time, use of narrow-band multi-cycle THz drivers for electron manipulation (acceleration, compression, and focusing). Moreover, we propose and demonstrate a novel scheme of cascaded acceleration, uniquely suited to multicycle drivers, for increasing the interaction length by re-cycling and- phasing the interaction. This work opens new possibilities for the design of THz based accelerators.","PeriodicalId":6746,"journal":{"name":"2020 45th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz)","volume":"7 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85015324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
