The 3D full-wave model for electromagnetic scattering from forest environment, based on the volumetric integral Equation formulation of the electric field, combined with the Characteristic Basis Function Method (CBFM) and implemented in Message Passing Interface (MPI) parallelization is described in this paper. Therefore the physical properties of the radar sea clutter must be well mastered. In this paper, we focus on sea clutter data acquired during an experiment called MARLENE, which was held in the Mediterranean Sea region of Toulon, France, in 2014. The aim of this experiment was to characterize the sea environment influence on radar propagation and backscattering for Refractivity From Clutter (RFC) and radar Doppler detection. Three coastal radars, MARSIG (WTD 71), MEMPHIS (FHR) and MEDYCIS (ONERA) were used to acquire sea clutter measurements simultaneously. During the radar measurements, the in-situ oceanic and meteorological conditions were characterized on board of the RV PLANET meteorological ship deployed by WTD 71 and by WAVEWATCH III and SWAN wave models. The analysis is proposed for 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 sub arrays on Rogers 5880 substrate with a relative dielectric permittivity εr=2.2 in order to achieve an objective of high gain and narrow beamwidth, which can be used for target tracking and precise detection applications. The solution frequency is chosen as 32.5 GHz which yields 3 dB beamwidth of ~ 20° and ~13° for 2 × 2 and 4 × 4 AFLTSA structures respectively. The realized gain achieved for these two structures is 12.39 dB and 14.19 dB respectively. It has been recently applied to inverse scattering problems numerous times without validating the properties of the system matrix. In this article, we seek to validate the applicability of CS to the inverse scattering problem. We formulate the problem such that the system matrix remains simple and universally applicable by using only a homogeneous background medium and then applying the CS constraints. Our analysis shows that the constraints can be satisfied under various scenarios.
