Abstract
The advantages and current challenges associated with constructing an integrated on-chip antenna based on plasma waves in a two-dimensional electron gas are presented. We briefly review the advantageous properties of plasma waves, chief of which is its subwavelength nature, the mode configuration and explore the possibility of achieving reduced sized antennas for wireless microwave devices.
