For example, the earthquake in Aceh, it brought \u0000material aids and employment opportunities to Acehnese. However, the aid \u0000caused a social conflict due to the aids distribution deemed unfair. In this \u0000case, a village leader, as a central figure, demanded his expertise to prevent \u0000violence or damage. This research aims to analyze the village leader's roles \u0000as a safety valve in handling conflict of shelter aids for earthquake victims. \u0000This study was conducted with a qualitative approach that involved fifteen \u0000informants as the primary data source. They were the village's apparatus \u0000and earthquake victims. The results showed that the village leader as a \u0000safety valve, he formed a community group as a new safety valve and \u0000offered his people new hope beyond the demands. Thus, this study suggests \u0000that the safety valve model may be used to pause the conflict escalates into \u0000violent behavior, but not to settle the root causes of conflict. Nevertheless, \u0000it may create harmony if the solutions proposed are beyond the promise of \u0000voice. Mainstreaming disability is important because Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have a high risk to face extreme poverty and difficulties getting a chance for employment. Even if they are employed, they tend to earn less and experience discrimination. Using a qualitative approach, this critical analysis highlights the challenges faced by the PWDs including accessibility to employment services, policy implementation, public facilities and mobility, and lack of awareness of disability issues. While the strategies comprise of encouraging the law and policy changes, strengthening the government commitment, redesigning employment service, inclusive education provision, and awareness-raising. However, the study which describes it in higher education is very limited. The aim of this study is to acquire deep knowledge about the co-curricular program as a method in character education, so the concept and strategy to operate it efficiently and effectively can be obtained. Data is collected by using a questionnaire instrument of the Social Skill Improvement System Rating Scale or SSIS-RS (Gresham et al, 2011) distributed to students who participate in co-curricular activities belonging to various fields. Thus, 131 students were the sample of the study. The data result is analyzed by using the factor analysis technique to find out which factor is dominant and to determine the variable rank. The analysis shows that co-curricular participation has 68% impact on students’ character building. However, gradually, some have begun to look at other potential areas such as North Bali. This opens for new opportunities as tourists may not only enjoy the panorama, culture, and attractions, but also the food. In addition, there are also some travelers who intentionally travel to sample local specialties and food icons. The purpose of this study is to seek popular North Bali local specialties, some legends that are still sought after by customers and foreign tourists. The study employs primary and secondary data. The two kinds of data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and reports related to employees. The data was analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. This method is employed to describe the data. The study found that there are many types of local specialties in the North Bali area, from appetizers to desserts. However, to date, Belayag and Siobak are still the two most iconic food. The information gathered in this study on Siobak and Belayag has the potential to be used as a reference for branding and other marketing purposes. It is also hoped that the output of the current study can contribute to the development of North Bali as an emerging tourism destination. The body of literature has addressed the issue of the current challenges in teaching English as a Foreign Language. However, only a few studies have investigated the issue in remote areas of Indonesia. This qualitative study investigates the current challenges in teaching English in the least-developed region of Indonesia based on the following criteria: language comprehension, method and approach, practical implementation, and socio-cultural environment. The data were collected from four English lecturers in one of the teaching universities in Indonesia. The participants were selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using in-depth interview and field observation which were then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study reveal that the participants have to deal with several obstacles in teaching English.
