Family members who have careers in accounting can influence the interest of accounting students in determining a career in the same field as their families. This research was conducted at the Samarinda State Polytechnic. Correspondents took as many as 50 correspondents. This study shows that family culture can influence accounting students to work as accountants. In Indonesia, the culture or habit of a strong bond with family and children is relatively high in choosing a career as an accountant profession. The result of this study proves that family has a significant influence on the selection of students for the accounting profession.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46216435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both genders have their language features and characteristics that can be seen in their Tiktok videos. This study aimed to investigate the features and typical characteristics of the language used by Indonesian male and female fitness influencers. This study applied a qualitative descriptive research method by analyzing the video script based on Lakoff’s Theory (1973) and Tennan’s Theory (1990). The findings indicated that male fitness influencers typically speak with greater directness and assertiveness. Also, basic and simple words are mostly used by male influencers. On the contrary, female fitness influencers mostly use extensive vocabulary in their rapport talk. It is intended that this study would serve as the foundation for further investigation related to language gender.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47101265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Flipped Classroom method is one of the new methods in Indonesia which can be one of the preferred methods that can be applied in teaching English. Surely, a trial is required to measure its effectiveness. The current study has two purposes, the first one was to determine whether the Flipped Classroom learning method was able to effectively improve student learning outcomes, especially in English lectures. Then, secondly, the purpose was how to apply Flipped Classroom in the classroom. This research is quantitative descriptive research with a quasi-experimental approach, employing a \"Pretest – Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group Design\". The current study involved 2 groups, namely the experimental group, taught using Flipped Classroom learning and the control group taught using conventional learning (without flipped Classroom design). It was found that the value of sig. Levene's test is 0.696 > 0.05, indicating that the data variance between the control class and the experimental class is homogeneous. Furthermore, the value of sig. (2-tailed) for the t-test, the value produces a value of 0.000 <0.05, then the decision-making in the t-test is to reject the Ho hypothesis and accept the Ha hypothesis. Thus, it can be interpreted that there is a significant difference between the average N-Gain scores of the control and experimental classes in English Engineering. It can be concluded that Flipped Classroom is effective in improving students' English skills in the topic of Describing Processes, as evidenced by the N-Gain value of 90, 91% which is included in the effective category. In other words, Flipped Classroom is effective to increase the students' scores in the class.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45078884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, Polman Bandung currently lacks a valid and reliable measurement tool, so it is necessary to create one so that the results can be more credibly reported. This study aims to obtain an instrument model for measuring customer satisfaction with the services provided by Polman Bandung. This study was a qualitative analysis study using the grounded research methodology to obtain new perspectives for developing customer satisfaction measuring tools. Activities that have been carried out include formulating the dimensions of customer satisfaction to be measured by combining 14 elements of the community service satisfaction index from KEMENPAN no.25/2004, 9 elements of service satisfaction dimensions from PERMENPAN no.14/2017, and the CARTER dimension which consists of 6 dimensions so that new dimensions are obtained in measuring service satisfaction with Polman Bandung institutions. The dimensions formulated into CHARACTER consist of 9 dimensions, namely Compliance, Handling complaints, Assurance, Reliability, Ability to serve, Clarity, Tangibility, Empathy, and Responsiveness. These nine dimensions are then derived into question items in the form of a questionnaire used to measure the level of service satisfaction provided by the institution to its customers. Responses from 757 respondents from internal and external customers were used in the quantitative analysis to test the validity and reliability of the measurement instrument. The result of this research showed measurement instrument's validity and reliability tests revealed that 18 elements are determined to be valid, and the highest validity value for each dimension is chosen to serve as a question item in the instrument that has up to 9 question items, in addition, the Cronbach's alpha reliability number is 0.945, allowing for proper use of the tool.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45667638","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theory used to make sense of the phenomenon is called policy effectiveness, and it consists of the following components: 1) availability; 2) breadth; 3) depth; 4) bias; 5) responsibility; and 6) appropriateness. In addition, both qualitative and descriptive types of research were used. Ten lontong artisans, three PGN members, and two subdistrict officials are among the informants. Since 2016, residents of the lontong neighbourhood have been using natural gas lines in their factories, according to the results. Socialization of the retail space spreads the word to locals about the program. Information about the program is readily available to each subdistrict thanks to a sales area representative and a call centre open around the clock. Monthly program usage can range from 200m3 to 1,500m3, and the program is available to both single-family homes and small and medium-sized businesses. However, many people are still unaware of the benefits of using natural gas, so the natural gas line program needs to be socialized.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45673520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mind Your Language is a British comedy television series that portrays a learning process by immigrants coming from various countries. Varieties of cultures and levels of English knowledge naturally influence humour creation by the characters. The data were taken from humourous utterances in season one of that situation comedy. Applying a descriptive qualitative approach, this research is in an attempt to find out the forms and the motives of those humourous utterances created to entertain audiences, especially those dealing with phonological aspects. The findings demonstrate that six forms of phonological aspects are employed to create humour. Sounds addition, omission, substitution, and minimal pairs are frequently exploited in humour creation rather than other strategies such as sound compatibility and metathesis. Based on the motives of humour construction, besides the interlocuter’s influence, the phonological interference phenomenon also grounds the humour production in Mind Your Language situation comedy. The humourous utterances produced illustrate a contextual relation of the situation comedy as an English learning process by immigrants coming from various countries, languages, and cultures.","PeriodicalId":56206,"journal":{"name":"Soshum Jurnal Sosial dan Humaniora","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45398344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
