Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi: (1) kegiatan yang diperlukan untuk mempersiapkan fasilitator belajar di Yayasan Emmanuel; (2) pelaksanaan program Edunation dalam mempersiapkan fasilitator belajar ini; (3) materi yang diberikan dalam mempersiapkan fasilitator belajar; (4) manfaat yang diperoleh fasilitator belajar, Yayasan Emmanuel, dan siswa yang diajar melalui program ini; dan (5) kendala yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan program Edunation dalam mempersiapkan fasilitator. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode eksplorasi. Subjek penelitan terdiri dari 20 siswa. Waktu penelitian dilaksanakan dari Maret-Juni 2018. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dan observasi. Masalah pokok yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimana pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di Pesantren Cipari Kabupaten Garut? Secara rinci masalah pokok ini dijabarkan dalam bentuk pertanyaan penelitian sebagai berikut: 1) Mengapa di Pesantren Cipari diselenggarakan pendidikan karakter? 2) Bagaimanakah program pendidikan karakter di pesantren Cipari Kabupaten Garut? 3) Faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di pesantren Cipari Kabupaten Garut? Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus. Analisis data dilakukan dengan beberapa tahapan, yaitu mengorganisasikan data, menjabarkannya ke dalam unit-unit, melakukan sintesa, menyusun ke dalam pola, memilih mana yang penting dan yang akan dipelajari, dan membuat kesimpulan yang dapat diceritakan kepada orang lain. {"title":"The Need of Assessment Instruments to Measuring the Higher-Order Thinking Skills in Accordance to The Elementary School Students’ Development","authors":"R. The research objectives were describing the questions form that are often used teachers, and the teacher’s need for assessment instruments to measure Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) that were appropriated to the level of elementary school students’ development. This was a qualitative descriptive research with a case research method. The research samples were 34 elementary school teachers in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. Informant selection used snow-ball sampling technique, while the research data are elementary teachers and documents. Data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis. Data validity used source and technical triangulations. Data analysis used interactive analysis techniques including of (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) conclusion. This skill could improve their learning process and memory. Student who had metacognitive skill will be able to control and to arrange his learning activity by himself. Active participation was the interaction both physically and psychologically to think, to interact, to try and to find new things in the learning process. The purpose of this research was to find the relationship between active participation and the metacognitive ability of students, especially in elementary school. This research was a correlation study. Population of this research was 5th grade students in SD Negeri 3 Klangenan academic year 2017/2018. Sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. The data was collected by observation and written test. The instruments for active participation was observation sheets and the instrument for metacognitive ability was a multiple choice test that consist of 20 questions. The data was analyzed using correlation technique using IBM SPSS Statistics 16.0 for windows. Based on the data nalaysis, it was obtained was 0.682. At a significant level 5% then was 0.413. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan dua tahap, yaitu observasi dan metode Research and Development (R&D). Metode observasi dilakukan untuk mengetahui proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas dan penggunaan smartphone mahasiswa saat di dalam kelas. Metode (R&D) atau penelitian dan pengembangan yang diadaptasi dari model pengembangan ADDIE digunakan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi m-learning. Aplikasi ini diujicobakan kepada 71 mahasiswa PGSD semester II FKIP UHAMKA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar Fotosintesis dalam bentuk m-learning berbasis Android yang telah dikembangakan berdasarkan ahli materi didapatkan skor persentasi sebesar 80,95% dengan kategori baik, selanjutnya hasil validasi oleh ahli media didapatkan skor persentase sebesar 77,94% dengan kategori baik. Uji coba dilakukan pada mahasiswa PGSD UHAMKA yang pertama pada kelas 2D didapatkan hasil kualitas media pembelajaran sebesar 90,54% dengan kategori sangat baik. Selanjutnya di kelas 2E didapatkan hasil kualitas media pembelajaran sebesar 94,73% dengan kategori sangat baik. This study tried to describe conceptually about social skill in kaulinan huhuian. The research method was case study. Six teachers of Elementary School from two different schools in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia were selected as participant. Data was collected through semi structure interview and observation. Data analysis process by using grounding approach. The finding of this study showed that there were some social activities in kaulinan huhuian, namely deciding who become ucing, making formation like hui (sweet potatoes), sing kakawihan (song), and dialog between ucing and huiand. Social skill that can be developed was honesty, togetherness and the ability to interact with other people and the surrounding environment. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode ekperimen semu dengan desain penelitian posttest-only design. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 64 siswa kelas IV SDN Batu Ampar 02 Pagi Jakarta Timur. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa yang berbentuk essai sebanyak 7 soal dengan nilai skor maksimal 4 dan terendah 0, yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematika kelas Eksperimen I menggunakan CTL tipe Card Match sebesar 19,3 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas Eksperimen II menggunakan RME sebesar 18. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif asosiatif dengan posttest only control group design. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 50 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar matematika siswa yang berbentuk essai sebanyak 5 soal. Setiap pertanyaan memiliki 4 untuk skor minimum dan 0 untuk skor minimum. Berdasarkan hasil uji normalitas dan homogenitas hasil belajar pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol didapatkan hasil data pada kedua kelas berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Selanjutnya, teknik analisis data menggunakan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 66,6 sedangkan rata-rata kelas kontrol adalah 54,4. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat perbedaaan signifikan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. {"title":"The Effect of Instructional Methods in Teaching Speaking to Young Learners","authors":"Nita Kaniadewi, Widi Sriyanto","doi":"10.22236/JIPD.V4I1.76","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22236/JIPD.V4I1.76","url":null,"abstract":"This study searched for empirical evidence of which instructional method, either Presentation-Practice-Production (PPP) or Task-based Learning (TBL), was more effective in teaching speaking to real beginners of young learners. The selected samples were taken by non-random sampling from Foundation II level with ten students for each class. This study, whose data was collected through an oral test, was an experimental research by using T-test at 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed that t-computation was higher than t-table (+2,11 > +2,10). It implied that the mean of PPP class was significantly higher than TBL class. The findings above led to a conclusion that the use of PPP was more effective than TBL in teaching speaking to young learners. It was also discovered that drilling activities, which occurred intensively in PPP, yet not in TBL, gave a great contribution in supporting the effectiveness of PPP in teaching speaking. Drillings were beneficial and met the characteristics of the students who belonged to the population of this study. Therefore, PPP, rather than TBL, was more recommended in teaching speaking to real beginners of young learners whose characteristics met the ones mentioned in the discussion below. However, since drillings can be very mechanical and meaningless, in order not to cause boredom, the length of time allocated for the activities should be considered carefully. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I Sekolah Dasar Negeri Susukan 06 pagi adalah 34 anak, dan jumlah siswa kelas I Sekolah Dasar Negeri Cijantung 03 adalah 35 siswa. Setelah dilakukan pengambilan sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling diperoleh jumlah 60 siswa, masing-masing 30 siswa dari Sekolah Dasar Negeri Susukan 06 pagi dan 30 siswa dari Sekolah Dasar Negeri Cijantung 03, jumlah sampel 60 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengukur kemampuan dasar motorik siswa adalah tes kemampuan motorik untuk anak Sekolah Dasar kelas 1 – 3 yaitu: 1) Menangkap penggaris/tongkat, 2) Berdiri dengan satu kaki, 3) Menolak bola, 4) Mendribel bola, 5) Memukul bola yang dijatuhkan, 6) Memindahkan kelereng, 7) Menendang bola, 8) Lempar tangkap bola, 9) Lari zig zag, 10) Tiarap berdiri, 11) Lompat jauh tanpa awalan, 12) Mencium lutut, 13) Aktivitas fisik relatif lama (15-20 menit). Data penelitian yang telah dikumpulkan melalui instrumen kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji persamaan rata-rata (uji t). Hasil perhitungan pengujian hipotesis dengan uji-t didapatkan thitung = 3,378 pada a = 0,05 dengan n = 30, sedangkan ttabel = 2,045. Hal ini berarti terdapat perbedaan kemampuan motorik siswa kelas I antara siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri Susukan 06 Pagi dengan siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri Cijantung 03 di Kecamatan Pasar Rebo Jakarta Timur.
