Companies should show they care about their employees by giving them opportunities for promotion and development. The aim of this paper is to compare the staff training and development programs in the national hotels in Serbia with programs in international hotel chains. In order to achieve a predefined goal, we used the method of comparative analysis. Data for analysis were collected by researching the existing literature, the official hotel websites and interviewing managers in national hotels in Serbia. The results indicate that the staff training and development programs are more advanced in the international hotel chains. Management in the national hotels in Serbia is determined to follow different staff training and development programs. However, they should invest more in establishing more programs, especially those aimed at their staff's development which they can copy from the international hotel chains. The new way of doing business within the overall socio-economic relations that prevail in the economy of the transition country requires new and modern solutions that will strengthen major business decisions of top management. Internal audit in its new context of existence in companies is based on: realistic planning of internal audit, taking each business segment as part of the business, starting point in a constructive approach to internal audit, regular reporting to top management, and giving suggestions to top management to implement actions on based on the internal auditor's report. In this paper, the authors paid special attention to the analysis of internal audit in the conditions of real functioning of the company. Kamara","doi":"10.5937/megrev2101023d","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5937/megrev2101023d","url":null,"abstract":"Provided the tensions and challenges found in different types of governance systems for developing clear objectives, effective policy implementation strategies, as well as monitoring and reporting mechanisms aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability of initiatives, this paper seeks to contribute to both theoretical and practical debates surrounding cooperative governance and LED. Whilst better policy outcomes that fit with local and differentiated needs among stakeholders may be one of the drivers for moving towards cooperative governance, there is a normative question of accountability. Does the common feature of flexible and adaptable arrangements in cooperative governance create accountability deficit, specifically promoting laissez-faire approach commonly associated with the implementation among role-players? This paper considers this question and the extent to which accountability may be ensured. To address these concerns data were collected from six municipalities in Western Cape, South Africa. A qualitative research design paradigm based on Interpretivists/Constructivists philosophy was employed. Data were collected through three data collection instruments, namely, document review, interviews and focus group discussions. This paper argues that employing Key Performance Indicators as commonly used in the public service to promote accountability is difficult to enforce specifically in collaborative endeavors where participatory is voluntary. The paper recommends some accountability promotion enhancers. Airlines and hospitality industry, as the main \"culprits\" but also the victims, are suffering the enormous consequences of the pandemic. The course of their economic recovery is still very uncertain. Their economic perspective depends, among other things, on the crisis communication strategy they are pursuing, as well as crisis-adapted marketing strategies. The emphasis lies on utilizing all resources needed to restore confidence and increase demand for tourism facilities. All forms of communication have recently undergone a transformation, so previous marketing rules no longer apply in full. Messages we have up until now sent to customers must be eliminated. The crises communication rules have to be established and adhered to. Each phase of a crises implies specific communication rules. Therefore, companies which actively communicate with a broad spectrum of the public during the COVID-19 crisis, especially with their existing and potential clients, have a better chance of a faster economic recovery. Integrated marketing, designed exclusively in a digital format, represents a promising model of tourism recovery.
