This study examined the prevalence and factors influencing depression in middle-aged women. Cross-sectional data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) were used, selecting middle-aged women aged 45–59 years. Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors. 3723 middle-aged women were included in the study, 1537 (41.28 %) had depressive symptoms, 2186 (58.72 %) had no depressive symptoms. The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that sleep duration, old-age insurance, body pain, drinking, fall, self-related health, life satisfaction, residence, education and marital status were the influencing factors for middle-aged women (P&lt;0.05). Despite growing implementation of police-led jail diversion programs, a significant gap remains in understanding the specific factors that influence ED diversion outcomes, particularly for behavioral health crisis incidents. To identify predictors of ED diversion, we analyzed 10,904 behavioral health crisis incident records from the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health's Jail Diversion Program database (May–December 2023) using logistic regression and hybrid machine learning techniques. Co-response clinicians achieved the highest diversion rates, followed by CIT-trained officers, while evening/overnight incidents and police referrals were less likely to result in diversion. Community-based assessments showed modest improvements in diversion likelihood. Demographic predictor variables significantly influenced outcomes, while severe psychiatric concerns and substance use decreased diversion probability. These findings highlight the contribution of jail diversion programs, particularly through co-response clinicians, and suggest the need for expanded community mental health resources, particularly during off-hours. Results underscore how psychiatric acuity, substance use, and response team composition influence diversion outcomes, with implications for enhancing mental health nursing practice in crisis response systems.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":55466,"journal":{"name":"Archives of Psychiatric Nursing","volume":"55 ","pages":"Article 151860"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2025-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143654636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample of the study consisted of 118 schizophrenia patients who were attending the Community Mental Health Center. The data were collected with the Sociodemographic Data Form, Dokuz Eylül Theory of Mind Scale (DETMS), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS), and Mindful Awareness Scale (MAAS). As well as demographic analysis, Pearson Correlation Analysis, and Regression Analysis were used to analyze the study data. The schizophrenia patients received 4.86 ± 2.66 points from DETMS, 51.89 ± 14.29 points from MAAS, and 57.91 ± 12.37 points from TAS. A significant relationship was detected between DETMS, MAAS, and TAS total scores (<em>p</em> &lt; 0.05). As the DETMS score increased, the TAS score decreased and the MAAS score increased. It was found that the TAS score was an effective predictor of Theory of Mind, but the MAAS score was not a significant predictor of Theory of Mind (<em>R</em> = 0.310, R2adjusted = 0.080, F(2.115) = 6.102; <em>p</em> = 0.003). The TAS score explained 8 % of the variation in the Theory of Mind. As a result of the study, it was found that the Theory of Mind functions of schizophrenia patients were at low levels, half of the patients had alexithymia, and their mindful awareness levels were close to the average. It can be argued that emotional awareness is an effective variable in the Theory of Mind. As individuals' Theory of Mind functions increase, their alexithymia levels decrease and mindful awareness increases.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":55466,"journal":{"name":"Archives of Psychiatric Nursing","volume":"55 ","pages":"Article 151858"},"PeriodicalIF":2.2,"publicationDate":"2025-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143686430","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
