The existence and uniqueness of the globally positive solution to the tumor–immune system are proved using stochastic Lyapunov analysis and Itô’s formula. We study the boundedness of moments for tumor cells and effector cells. By considering the dynamics on the boundary, applying the comparison theorem and the strong ergodic theorem, we obtain a threshold [Formula: see text] which is used to characterize the stochastic permanence in the sense that there is a unique invariant measure and extinction of the stochastic tumor–immune system. We also give biological interpretations about our analytical results of stochastic system. In addition, we present numerical examples and discussions to illustrate our analysis results. We find that the small noises preserve Hopf bifurcation of the deterministic system in stochastic setting and study numerically how the stochastic Hopf bifurcation with parameters occurs.","PeriodicalId":54872,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44820500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed model is separated into two cases with two different culling rates: (1) at a per-capita constant rate and (2) constant population being culled. The global asymptotic stability of equilibria is determined in terms of the basic reproduction numbers. Further, we find that the culling rate (2) considered in the model could change the dynamics by having multiple positive equilibria. Sensitivity analysis recommends developing a strategy that promotes animals’ natural and disease-related death rates. By ranking the efficacies of various intervention strategies, we obtain that vaccination in the human population, isolation and public awareness are the largely effective control interventions. Our general theory raises concerns about both human and animal populations becoming reservoirs of the disease and affecting each other dynamically.","PeriodicalId":54872,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44988346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Oscillatory phenomena do not always possess a simple periodic nature. In this work, we analyze a gene transcriptional network in which we assume an almost periodic input that regulates gene. We use an almost periodic input [Formula: see text] since a periodic one is very restrictive. We show that the almost periodic model proposed has a unique almost periodic attractor. Numerical simulations show that the retroactivity is highly affected when an almost periodic input is used in an upstream system that is interconnected to a downstream system. By comparison of the solutions of the model, we can conclude that when the amount of protein bound to the promoter is modeled by either a periodic function or an almost periodic one, which is denoted by [Formula: see text], the amount of protein concentration [Formula: see text] can be underestimated or overestimated depending on if [Formula: see text] is modeling by a periodic or an almost periodic function. These estimation errors can lead to an error in the quantification of retroactivity which in turn can alter the coordination between an upstream system and a downstream one.","PeriodicalId":54872,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Biological Systems","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2023-06-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48013239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"数学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
