Inability to do so reflects a failure in employee-organization relationship. Since IT professionals possess unique workplace behaviours, it is presumed that they leave organizations as more committed to the profession. Thus, the study aimed to investigate the influence of professional commitment and perceived organizational support on IT professionals' turnover intention. Data was analysed using a structural equation model. A sample of 96 software engineers revealed that professional commitment negatively influences turnover intention while its effect is partially mediated by job satisfaction. Surprisingly, unlike for other employees, for IT professionals, perceived organizational support had no influence on turnover intention: instead stimulated job satisfaction. Similarly, professional commitment stimulates job satisfaction. Job satisfaction negatively influenced the turnover intention. Gender showed no moderating effect on the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention while career stage moderated the relationship. The comparison between the findings of professional commitment and perceived organizational support directs IT firms to re-visit presumptions about IT professionals and to re-assess what is meant by organizational support to IT professionals. Since gender had no effect on the job satisfaction-turnover intention relationship, both male and female IT professionals must be acknowledged for their equal professionalism in the industry. IT companies must take initiatives to retain talented early career staged IT professional who have proven to easily leave their organizations compared to others. Such efforts can be integrated to professional commitment and job satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":54025,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.9,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78296491","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research investigates the impact of employer branding strategy (a mechanism used by organisations to engage competent talent) on employee engagement whilst simultaneously measuring the mediating effect of person-organization (P-O) fit. The study analyses a sample of 296 employees working in the BPO sector (offshore call centres) in India. The proposed model is tested with the help of structural equation modelling. The findings of the research highlight that employer branding has an affirmative relationship with P-O fit and employee engagement. The findings also reveal that P-O effect has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between employer branding and employee engagement. It can be deduced that employer branding is a comprehensive strategy which can be used by employers to engage employees. Thus, in a global economy where a talented workforce is scarce and has plenty of choices available to them, firms can use employer branding as a strategic opportunity to enhance employee engagement.","PeriodicalId":54025,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.9,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75727000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrating practices provide a more comprehensive and efficient approach, enabling features that would be unavailable through individual practices. Therefore, organizations are now forced to adopt and adapt various EGIT practices. However, the literature lacks a proposal that can assist and guide organizations in assessing different practices in a multi-practices environment. To overcome this issue, this research intends to shed some light in this area by proposing an ontological approach for describing TIPA for ITIL PAM and COBIT PAM, using semantic similarity techniques to compare COBIT and ITIL process assessment core concepts.","PeriodicalId":54025,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.9,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79261661","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this, using survey method, this study distributed the survey to 305 employees working at Korean companies. This study used a series of multiple regression analyses. In the results, first, invasion and uncertainty among the mental properties of professional literacy in social media increases employees' psychological distress. However, overload has no significance with employees' psychological distress. Second, perceived organizational support has a moderating effect on the relationship between uncertainty and psychological distress. However, perceived organizational support has no effect on the relation between invasion and psychological distress.","PeriodicalId":54025,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.9,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85787573","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Driven by this need for speed, many companies are rushing to the DevOps movement. DevOps, the combination of development and operations, is a new way of thinking in the software engineering domain that recently received much attention. Since DevOps has recently been introduced as a new term and novel concept, no common understanding of what it means has yet been achieved. Therefore, the definitions of DevOps often are only a part relevant to the concept. This research presents a systematic literature review to identify the determining factors contributing to the implementation of DevOps, including the main capabilities and areas with which it evolves.","PeriodicalId":54025,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.9,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74492183","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A grounded theory was built using a qualitative approach. It found the coping theory to explain the phenomenon after the emergence of self-preservation, as an adaptation strategy, and self-efficacy, as a striking feature of the profession. A practical implication is that self-efficacy has trade-offs both to threats and opportunities in the process of becoming a data scientist.
