En el presente trabajo se realizaron diferentes mezclas de agregados utilizando tres tipos de materias primas con diferentes granulometrias: arena fina, arena gruesa y agregado de 3/8”, para las cuales se evaluo su composicion mineralogica mediante difraccion de rayos X, la composicion quimica empleando fluorescencia de rayos X, y su estructura macroscopica mediante microscopia optica. Se realizaron 66 mezclas, a las cuales se les evaluaron variables como modulo de finura, distribucion de tamano de particula, contenido de vacios y densidad. Estos datos se representaron en diagramas ternarios. De los estudios de gradacion realizados, se seleccionaron seis formulaciones en funcion del tipo de agregado utilizado y el contenido de vacios. Con esta seleccion, se realizaron probetas de concreto, las cuales fueron sometidas a pruebas de compresion, encontrando que por ejemplo para la mezcla A 22 que con un porcentaje de vacios de 17 % genero una resistencia a la compresion de 22 MPa. Los resultados obtenidos se pueden usar no solo en aplicaciones tales como concretos con cero asentamiento, mamposteria de bloques de hormigon o en los hormigones regulares, sino ademas en pavimentos asfalticos, materiales ceramicos obtenidos por sinterizado, y materiales compuestos reforzados con particulas. EnglishThe size distribution, the gradation and the type of aggregates are factors of great relevance for the design of mixtures in concrete and construction materials in general since these allow us to obtain information on the voids contents, module fineness, bulk density, and mechanical performance that certain aggregate mixtures will present. In the present work, different mixtures of aggregates were made using three types of raw materials: fine sand, coarse sand, and 3/8” aggregate, for which their mineralogical composition was evaluated using X-ray diffraction, the chemical composition using X-ray fluorescence, and its macroscopic structure using optical microscopy. Sixty-six mixture formulations were made, to which variables such as fineness modulus, particle size distribution, void content, and density were evaluated. These data were represented in ternary diagrams. From the gradation studies carried out, six formulations were selected based on the type of aggregate used and the content of voids. With this selection, concrete specimens were made, which were subjected to compression tests, finding that the mixture A 22, with 17 % of voids generated a compressive strength of 22 MPa. El siguiente articulo analiza el tratamiento con ozono en las aguas residuales de la industria farmaceutica. Se realizo una revision de la literatura cientifica sobre las aguas residuales de la industria farmaceutica, la implementacion de tratamientos tradicionales, los impactos medioambientales que ocasionaban los vertidos de dicha industria, y especificamente acerca de la implementacion del ozono para remover los residuos farmaceuticos de los cuerpos de agua. Los resultados sugieren que el tratamiento de ozonizacion es eficiente en la remocion de compuestos farmaceuticos, especialmente de antiinflamatorios, antibioticos y estrogenos. EnglishThe pharmaceutical industry is now a valuable global health element. The manufacture of medicines and the cleaning of equipment, generate wastewater with emerging pollutants of difficult elimination with traditional treatments, producing environmental impacts on the ecosystems. The following study analyses ozone treatment in the wastewater of the pharmaceutical industry. A review of the scientific literature is made on the wastewater of the pharmaceutical industry, the implementation of traditional treatments, the environmental impacts caused by discharges from that industry, and specifically on the implementation of ozone to remove pharmaceutical waste from water bodies. Se realizo un analisis de distribucion de tamano de particula (DTP), caracterizacion quimica (FRX), caracterizacion mineralogica (DRX) y, finalmente, se evaluo la actividad puzolanica de la escoria de cobre secundaria fina (ECF) utilizando el metodo establecido en la norma ASTM C 311, por medio del indice de actividad por resistencia (IAR). Se encontro que la ECF cumple con las condiciones quimicas para clasificarse como puzolana y con las condiciones de resistencia, de acuerdo a las normas ASTM C618 y ASTM C311, respectivamente, con un IAR de 67,37 % a 7 dias y 78,56 % a 28 dias. Se encontro tambien, que los principales componentes mineralogicos de la ECF son leucita y piroxeno, y que el porcentaje de fase vitrea de la escoria es 45,8 %, con estos resultados se hace posible la utilizacion de este residuo en procesos de fabricacion de materiales cementantes. EnglishThis study focuses on the characterization of a secondary copper slag (ECS) generated by a company located in the Valle del Cauca region, Colombia, for possible use as an addition to the cement production process. A particle size distribution (DTP), chemical characterization (FRX), mineralogical characterization (DRX) analysis is performed, and finally, the pozzolanic activity of fine secondary copper slag (ECF) is evaluated using the method set out in ASTM C 311 using the Resistance Activity Index (IAR). ECF was found to meet the chemical conditions to be classified as pozzolanic and resistance conditions according to ASTM C618 and ASTM C311 standards respectively, with an IAR of 67.37 % to 7 days and 78.56 % to 28 days. En los ultimos anos, la tecnologia de vitrificacion de residuos se ha considerado un procedimiento atractivo para el tratamiento de diferentes tipos y mezclas de residuos para la obtencion de vidrios y vitroceramicas. El presente articulo hace una revision de las investigaciones relacionadas con la produccion de vitroceramicas densas realizadas entre 1994 y 2019, especificamente las que han utilizado cenizas, escorias y residuos de vidrio. La revision revela que se han acumulado considerables conocimientos y experiencia en el proceso de transformacion de los desechos base silicatos en productos utiles de vidrio y vitroceramicas con propiedades similares e incluso superiores a los de materiales convencionales, abriendo nuevos campos de aplicacion en ceramicas avanzadas. EnglishThe use of industrial waste and by-products as a partial or total replacement of raw materials for the production of new materials has become an important part of waste management, which has given rise to innovative technologies that allow its application to be extended to the development of new products, thus contributing to less environmental pollution and the concepts of the circular economy. In recent years, waste vitrification technology has been considered an interesting alternative for treating of different waste to obtain glass and glass-ceramics. This manuscript conducted a review of research related to the production of dense glass-ceramics carried out between 1994 and 2019 years. Specifically, those that have used fly ash, granulated blast-furnace slag, and glass cullet wastes. EnglishThe growing interest in the development of alternatives to the use of traditional binders in geotechnical applications, such as cement and lime, is largely due to the environmental challenges and associated costs in this type of applications. Alkali-activated binders emerge as one of the most sustainable alternatives, particularly because of their low energy consumption and in theory the low carbon footprint in their manufacture. In addition, this type of binders have the possibility of using industrial waste and by-products as precursor materials in their production process. This article presents a state of the art of the various materials conventionally used in the chemical stabilization of soils and performs a review of published articles in relation to the implementation of alkali-activated binders. Sin embargo, el uso de dispositivos moviles se ha visto amenazado por la creciente ola de ataques y malware tipo troyanos (e.g., exploits), para robo de informacion y dano de archivos. Con el fin de contrarrestar estos ataques, se han creado tecnicas de cifrado de datos y procesos de autenticacion. De esta manera se puede evitar violacion de la confidencialidad y autenticidad en las comunicaciones. Por otra parte, algunos de los algoritmos de cifrado existentes son inseguros y pueden requerir altos costos computacionales. En este trabajo se realizo el analisis del rendimiento de tres de los principales algoritmos de cifrado definidos por el Instituto Nacional de Estandares y Tecnologia (NIST por su sigla en ingles): Rijndael como el Estandar Avanzado de Cifrado (AES por su sigla en ingles), Serpent y Twofish, analizando sus principales caracteristicas de funcionamiento y realizando pruebas de rendimiento sobre dispositivos inteligentes (smartphones y tablets), con el fin de determinar cual de estos algoritmos seria el mas adecuado para ser implementado en cada equipo. Finalmente, se genera una ecuacion llamada costo computacional, que depende de la RAM, CPU y el gasto de bateria; con la cual, se pueden realizar analisis para los algoritmos de cifrado simetricos en dispositivos similares a los tratados en este experimento. EnglishCurrently, telecommunications and especially mobile communications have taken great importance and relevance in people's daily activities. However, the use of mobile devices has been threatened by the growing wave of attacks and Trojans as malware (e.g., exploits) for information theft, and fire damage; To mitigate these attacks there are data encryption techniques and authentication processes. In this way, a breach of confidentiality and authenticity in communications can be avoided. On the other hand, some of the existing encryption algorithms are insecure and may require high computational costs. This work analyzes the performance of three of the main encryption algorithms defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST): Rijndael as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Serpent and Twofish, specifying their main operating characteristics, analyzing performance tests on smart devices, to determine which of these algorithms is the most appropriate to be implemented in each device. Para la implementacion se uso BDD como metodo de desarrollo, Python como lenguaje de programacion y Behave para escribir las pruebas en lenguaje natural. Como resultados se presentaron parte del modelo implementado del automata celular y algunos de los requerimientos con sus respectivos escenarios para BDD e implementacion, donde se explico el uso del framework Behave en Python. Se concluyo que BDD es una buena herramienta para este tipo de proyectosporque se obtuvo como resultado 706 lineas de codigo fuente correspondientes al modelo del automata celular, probadas con un total de 144 pruebas definidas desde la fase inicial del proyecto y superadas satisfactoriamente, de acuerdo a una encuesta de aceptacion del uso de la metodologia BDD por parte de los usuarios del proyecto, y la primera aplicacion de BDD en una simulacion de movilidad peatonal. EnglishThis work aimed to present part of the implementation of a cellular automaton using Behavior-Driven-Development (BDD) as a strategy for the construction of a tool that allows to model pedestrian accessibility within an open space such as the campus of the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. For the implementation, BDD was used as a development method, Python as a programming language and Behave to write the tests in natural language. As a result, part of the implemented model of the cellular automaton was presented, some of the requirements with their respective scenarios for BDD and implementation, where the use of the Behave framework in Python was explained. El objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar el control estadistico en el consumo del agua por bloques en la institucion; se realizaron disenos de cartas de control por cada bloque durante un semestre como datos historicos, los cuales se usaron luego para comparar, mediante las medidas parametricas usadas en las cartas de mediciones individuales, los controles presentes en el consumo de agua. Usando el control estadistico se logro evidenciar alteraciones en el consumo de agua con lo que se realizaron inspecciones de posibles fugas, lo cual justifico las causas de variabilidad a intervenciones de obras en algunos bloques y se dieron recomendaciones de mecanismos a implementar para el control del consumo del preciado liquido. EnglishRecently, there has been a worrying decrease in the water resources sources for human consumption, many factors are the cause of their deterioration and high industrial, agricultural and daily consumption activities in large populations, for the latter, the Universidad del Atlantico manages this resource through the Environmental Management System; this study presents the statistical control in the water consumption by buildings in the institution; Control chart designs were made for each building during a term as historical data, which were then used to compare, through the parametric measurements used in the individual measurements charts, the present controls in the water consumption. Esta investigacion tuvo como objetivo, disenar un modelo de negociacion basado en indicadores comerciales que permitieron potencializar las estrategias de una empresa en terminos de liderazgo. En esta investigacion descriptiva, el caso de estudio fue una empresa multinacional del sector de formulas infantiles (MFI), donde se utilizaron metodos cualitativos para analizar encuestas de liderazgo, historicos de ventas, indicadores comerciales y de desempeno. Aunque en los referentes teoricos se identificaron diferentes modelos de negociacion existentes, en esta investigacion se concluyo que es necesario desarrollar de manera colaborativa el metodo a utilizar, dado que al ser conocido por todos los integrantes del equipo desde la reflexion y la accion, puede convertirse en un procedimiento establecido para ser parte de la cultura organizacional. EnglishThe negotiation process in some companies, by developing it becomes, depending on the company, an element that is part of the organizational culture, a distinctive feature. The objective of this research was to design a negotiation model based on commercial indicators that enabled the development of a company’s strategies in terms of leadership. In this descriptive investigation, the case study was a multinational company in the infant formulas sector (MIF), where qualitative methods were used to analyze leadership surveys, sales records, commercial and performance indicators. La topologia elegida para este proposito es un convertidor bidireccional Buck-boost, para el cual se obtiene el modelo matematico. A continuacion se presenta una breve introduccion al concepto de control de orden fraccionario, en donde se muestra la estructura de un PID de orden fraccionario. Luego se muestra el proceso de sintonizacion de los parametros de este controlador usando un metodo aritmetico. Con el objetivo de evaluar el desempeno del convertidor y su controlador de orden fraccionario, se simula bajo diferentes situaciones que representan distintas condiciones de operacion, tales como cambios en los niveles de tension de la bateria, condiciones climaticas e incertidumbre en los parametros. Se analizan y comparan los resultados de simulacion del controlador con los obtenidos de un PID clasico. Finalmente, se presentan las conclusiones. EnglishThis paper presents the control design of a bidirectional converter used to support a DC microgrid. The chosen topology for this purpose is the bidirectional buck-boost converter, for which its mathematical model is obtained. Next, a brief introduction of fractional order control is presented and the structure of a fractional order PID controller is shown. The tuning process of this controller is obtained by means of an arithmetic method whose parameters are set to control the bidirectional converter. In order to evaluate the performance of the converter and its fractional-order controller, this is simulated under different situations that represent different operating conditions, such as changes in battery voltage levels, climatic conditions, and uncertainty in the parameters. The simulation results of this controller are analyzed and compared with a classical PID.
