Jej podstawę stanowi teoria bytu osobowego (filozoficzna teoria człowieka); w centrum zainteresowań pedagogiki personalistycznej jest zatem osoba/człowiek/dziecko ujmowane jako wartość, której przypisana jest godność, autonomia, niepowtarzalność, integralność, prawa. Koncepcja ta buduje całościową (kompletną) wizję dziecka jako osoby ludzkiej. Dziecko, jego dzieciństwo ujmowane jest jako podmiot/współtwórca własnego rozwoju, wzrastania, doskonalenia się w „człowieczeństwie”, z uwzględnieniem dobra własnego oraz wspólnego/społecznego. W procesie wychowania dziecka kluczową rolę przypisuje się rodzinie jako naturalnemu środowisku jego życia. Pedagogikę personalistyczną potraktowano w niniejszym artykule jako ważny paradygmat badań dziecka i dzieciństwa.","PeriodicalId":52686,"journal":{"name":"Paedagogia Christiana","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46091959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despair and death, which accompany our existential experience throughout our lives, are most frequently treated one-sidedly, pejoratively, and presented as an expression of human evil. The thoughts of Paul Tillich, Viktor Frankl, Vittorino Andreoli and Krystian Lupa open a space for understanding despair and death as existential challenges a person needs to be capable of facing and should treat as valuable experience; an experience which creates an opportunity for a new dimension in our own appreciation of life.For this reason, an existentially oriented education seems to enable serious thought about a person in the context of their entire life.","PeriodicalId":52686,"journal":{"name":"Paedagogia Christiana","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41398778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Personalistic Pedagogy and Transcendence","authors":"M. Nowak","doi":"10.12775/pch.2021.003","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.12775/pch.2021.003","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper I focus my attention on personalistic pedagogy, and its connection with transcendence, which was defined by Karol Wojtyła as ‘another name for the person’, because of its close link to the realisation of man as a person (Wojtyła, 1993, s. 230). In this regard, I focus my attention on references to transcendence in the studies of selected personalists. In its structure the article proposes reflection over the following problems: 1) the spiritual and transcending dimension of the bodily character of the human person; 2) the transcendence of the human person and the human person’s quest for values in the varieties of personalisms; 3) the ‘naturalisation’ of the ‘person’ category, and the openness to transcendence; 4) transcendence in historical, metaphysical and theological personalism; 5) education as a process between nature, culture and transcendence. According to Karol Wojtyła, when we talk about transcendence in relation to the human person we should take into account three dimensions: 1) transcendence in action; 2) transcendence towards another ‘I’ and 3) transcendence towards personal God. The biological life is never able to explain the spiritual life, and it is the spiritual life that gives meaning to the biological life, because the only sphere of the spirit reveals to us the value of the personal life and the meaning of human existence. This consequently leads to the need for separate reflection on the world and on man. In this sense, both in theoretical reflection and in practical action, the above-mentioned need is emphasised and points to respect for the ‘mystery of the child’, all the more acceptable in a climate of faith and openness to transcendence. Of course, the process of education and teaching can be approached superficially, in a shallow sense, in which we can remain closed to the possibilities and potential of human development. Epistemological distinctions connected to Maritain’s levels of cognition allow us to notice at least two types of teaching and education (flat and deep). A human being might stop (for various reasons, of course) at the lower levels of existence, and give up any aspirations to higher values, and to transcendence. Here we can seek help in explaining the part of staying open on transcendence of personalistic pedagogy.","PeriodicalId":52686,"journal":{"name":"Paedagogia Christiana","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41631103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exerting the theoretical references of pedagogical anthropology inspired by personalism and its recovery in a hermeneutic perspective, the article outlines the specificity of pedagogy and its intrinsic relationship with the concept of the person. Initially, we introduce a reflective reread on Christian personalist thought in ongoing pedagogical discourse, in particular through the paradigmatic concept of hope. This research therefore aimed at analyzing and identifying perspectives of creativity by pre-service teachers when a likely solution step was generated in the DBL. Three separate design based learning activities were undertaken by 13 female and 11 male pre-service teachers. Two separate methods have been used for analysis of data gathered from pre-service teachers’ writings and drawings, half-structured interviews, and field notes. In quantitative study of pre-service teachers' works and in exploring the notions of creativity, fluency, flexibility, and originality. In this study descriptive analysis was used. In semi-structured interviews and field notes the findings of the descriptive analysis included quality analyses. Description analysis showed the highest showed in creativity and flexibility, but the lowest was originality. The findings of content analysis further showed a variety of factors influencing the uniqueness of pre-service teachers ideas including exposure of people to ideas, knowledge of design based learning and the prototyping of pre-service teachers' ideas. The study results might enhance the usage of DBL to help educators and researchers understand the strengths and limits of their pupils through the creativity and STEM education.","PeriodicalId":52686,"journal":{"name":"Paedagogia Christiana","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82126713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ESD aims to develop students' understanding of sustainability issues and change students' attitudes and behavior regarding environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The purpose of this paper is to determine the improvement of students’ sustainability consciousness after attending STEM learning in sustainability issues. This study used quasi experimental method with one group pretes-posttest design. It was conducted in 28 seventh grades students of junior high school in Surabaya. The instrument was declared as valid based on expert’s judgment and showed Alpha Cronbach score 0,85. Data was collected by pretest and posttest of sustainability consciousness questionnaire. Based on the data analysis, it showed that sustainability issues were effectively integrated into STEM learning to enhance the sustainability consciousness of junior high school students. N-gain average of sustainability consciousness were 0,18 as low category. The findings suggest that required learning strategies that can provide more opportunities for students to learn about sustainability issues and develop pro-sustainability attitudes and behaviors.","PeriodicalId":52686,"journal":{"name":"Paedagogia Christiana","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88834653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
