In this paper, we use the concept of resilience as a framework to understand how bovine livestock farming systems may adjust to challenging environmental, social, and political conditions. Using an interactive simulation model (microworld), we explored potential developments for livestock farmers in Bourbonnais, France, to the effect of simultaneous changes in the socioeconomic landscape and unpredictable weather conditions resulting from climate change. System dynamics is an approach for understanding nonlinear behaviour of complex systems over time. Its inherent capabilities make it effective in dealing with crises' attributes. Accordingly, deploying this technique in managing crises will strengthen the process and ensure its successfulness. This premise had been acknowledged by many scholars and reflected in their researches. In the last two decades there were many system dynamics applications in crisis management practice. These applications were subjected to an analysis process to recognise its characteristics. The analysis process identified their evolution trend, scholars' origins, utilised tools, crises' types, unit of analysis, and applications' categories. These categories include analysis, decision support system, crises preparation, forecasting, enhancing performance, setting plans, and policies' consequences. Nevertheless, the dynamic mechanism of online shopping behaviour implementation intention in intricate social contexts has not been investigated comprehensively. Based on the theory of implementation intention, this study constructs a research framework from the standpoint of dual contextual cues of businesses and consumers, designs corresponding models by using system dynamics method, and validates its efficacy and sensitivity to elucidate the dynamic implementation intention mechanism of consumers’ social shopping behaviour. The purchase implementation intention of consumers is influenced by not only their psychological changes but also businesses, showing a fluctuating upward trend over time. Consumers’ implementation intention is highly sensitive to quality and safety cues and prospective memory of businesses degree. Bespoke academic projects provide little scope for repeatable practical application and efforts to develop generic reusable solutions have neither clearly identified the end users nor fully appreciated their multifaceted requirements. Influenced by a review of existing findings and recommendations in addition to a customised survey of prospective end users, a set of practical design principles were elicited in guiding development of a new open-source and versatile tool. Capturing variability in arrivals and length of stay as well as the stochastic nature of dynamic delays in patient discharge and transfer, the PathSimR tool can be used to model various user-defined configurations of outpatient and inpatient pathways. Hence, the government should optimize the amounts and locations of grain reserves. Nevertheless, the grain supply process for emergencies is hard to be analytically model due to the complexity and uncertainty. In this paper, we propose an off-site storage structure to balance the high storage cost and the lack of storage capacity. Based on the off-site storage structure, we build a simulation model of the local grain reserve system and develop a systematic two-phase optimisation algorithm to achieve the optimal scheme. The numerical results show that the optimal off-site grain storage scheme can reduce the total annual operation cost of the entire system by 16%. Corlu","doi":"10.1080/17477778.2022.2062261","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1080/17477778.2022.2062261","url":null,"abstract":"ABSTRACT The one-commodity pickup and delivery traveling salesman problem (1-PDTSP) concerns the transportation of single-type goods that are picked up from supply locations to be delivered to the demand points while minimizing transportation costs. 1-PDTSP finds several applications in practice including the food redistribution operations, where excess edible foods from restaurants and food vendors are collected and delivered to food banks or meal centers, which are then made available to those in need. This paper addresses the realistic case where the pickup and delivery quantities are rarely known in advance and studies the 1-PDTSP with stochastic demand and supply values. We propose a novel simheuristic algorithm, which combines VND metaheuristic with Monte Carlo simulation (SimVND) to solve the stochastic 1-PDTSP. The resulting algorithm takes into account both the transportation cost and the penalty cost, which is incurred due to the inability to satisfy the entire demand. The experimental results indicate that the SimVND solution performs well on deterministic data sets when compared with the existing solutions in the literature. On the stochastic problems, this algorithm leads to a significant decrease in the penalty costs compared to those observed under deterministic solutions.
