The purpose of the study is to identify the potential of the participles of the Tatar language in the representation of the taxic meanings of succession, simultaneity and precedence. The research material was examples from the Tatar National corps \"Tugan tel\". The scientific novelty of the study consists in differentiating the forms of participles in accordance with the implemented basic values of the taxi category. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that the participles of the Tatar language are able to represent all taxic meanings within the utterance. The meanings represented by participles are differentiated according to their belonging to different time planes: present – simultaneity, past – preceding, future – following. The predicate expresses the main temporal localization. The participles of the present tense retain the value of the constancy of the attribute in action relative to any period. The most representative is the group of past and present participles without the meaning of multiplicity.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. Sacheri's novel \"The Question in his Eyes\"","authors":"Nikita Vladimirovich Varyoshin","doi":"10.30853/phil20240313","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30853/phil20240313","url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of the study is to decipher the code in the psychological detective story \"The Question in his eyes\", embedded in references to the plot motifs and archetypes of the main characters of M. de Cervantes' novel \"Don Quixote\". The author of the article intends to identify those crisis moments when participants in a detective conflict (detective, victim, criminal) show quixotic behavior, that is, they take active actions in an attempt to change their lives and cope with the pain they experience. The internal logic of the transformation of the detective hypostases of E. Sacheri's characters is traced. The nature of the reflection of a detective as a person facing the problem of self-identification is explored. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that, based on the material of E. Sacheri's novel, the author for the first time traces the logic of the influence of events on the actors, who are endowed with the function of Don Quixote at the initial plot point. As a result, it was found that the character of the detective hero is not limited only to quixotic activity. The study shows that, depending on the situation, the Quixote detective transforms into a rogue / Sancho Panza. In a social conflict with his superiors or in the process of dialogue with the victim of a crime, the detective begins to reflect on the events taking place in his life. In turn, the long-term process of daily reflection pushes the detective to commit a responsible, quixotic act.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. The novelty of this research lies in explaining cognitive and perceptual information in lexical semantics based on the topology-imagery hypothesis, offering a new cognitive perspective on lexical semantic understanding. By annotating the CPI types of Words of the Year in English, Chinese, and Russian over a span of ten consecutive years, this study compares the cognitive similarities and differences in metaphorical meanings across these languages and explores the underlying cognitive image-schematic patterns behind these similarities and differences. The findings reveal that five types of cognitive and perceptual information constitute the core cognitive mechanisms in the semantic relationships between basic and metaphorical meanings, with structural relationships (Type 3) emerging as a core cognitive pattern across these languages. Furthermore, the study identifies structural relationships (Type 3) and scenarios (Type 4) as the most prevalent types within English, Chinese, and Russian Words of the Year. Underlying cognitive and perceptual information are two topological patterns identified as universal methods for understanding lexical semantics.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. The scientific novelty of the research consists in establishing the types of intertextual connection between R. Dahl’s stories for children and traditional folklore fairy tales. As a result, it was discovered that traditional European fairy tales are reflected in R. Dahl’s children’s stories due to applying the following techniques: a) using elements of intertextuality in plot construction and image creation, which manifests itself in processing of plots, direct and indirect allusions, parody; b) using the same thematic basis, including the following moralistic themes: confrontation between good and evil; main character’s liberation; paradoxical retribution and triumph of justice.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. The aim of the study is to substantiate the significance of using the mind maps in the educational process on the subject of presenting information in the linguoculturological aspect for students learning Russian as a foreign language. Theoretically and methodologically, the present work is based on the theory of linguistic personality and secondary linguistic personality, as well as on the linguoculturological approach in teaching a non-native language. The scientific novelty of the research consists in analyzing the ways of applying the methodology of making mind-maps when mastering linguistic and linguocultural material in Russian as a foreign language classes. As a result of the study, the recommendations on the compilation of mind maps on the example of the linguocultural concept \"Winter\" are presented. The high efficiency of this methodology application among foreign students in the development and formation of linguocultural competence is confirmed.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the fact that in this study, for the first time, a comprehensive analysis of the \"false friends of the translator\" presented in an English-language business letter is carried out, according to belonging to a certain part of speech and the transmitted semantic meaning, performed on significant linguistic material, which made it possible to identify and describe the features of lexical units. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that pseudo-international words in the official business style are represented by a noun, an adjective, a verb and an adverb. The vast majority of pseudo-internationalisms are nouns and adjectives, used in approximately equal numbers. The verb and adverb are less characteristic parts of speech for the formal business style. Difficulties in translating pseudo-internationalisms arise when grammatical substitution is used incorrectly, an inappropriate unit value is chosen, or the semantic meaning of an English lexeme is misunderstood, transferred to Russian using calculus.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. The choice of material is dictated by the desire for a more in-depth study of the poetics of poems, as well as insufficient knowledge of the author's poetry. The article deals with the problem of poetic integrity of the text from the point of view of rhythmic and sound organization. The purpose of the study is to identify some features of rhythmic and sound organization as the fundamental principles of verse structuring. Scientific novelty is determined by the possibility of establishing the specifics of I. Gogolev's individual style in the aspect of the problem of the integrity of the poetic text. As a result of the study, it was found that rhythmic composition is one of the basic principles of verse structuring. I. Vampilov A. Simukov, whose years of creativity span more than half a century. In the article, through a system of end-to-end and archetypal images, a historical and literary excursion is conducted, revealing the prerequisites for creating the image of a new woman in the post-revolutionary period and its subsequent development. Special attention is paid to the author's style of A. Simukov and his contribution to the development of female images in Soviet drama. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time A. Simukov's plays of different years devoted to the women's issue were comprehensively studied, and it is open to the reader that the playwright, starting with the first works, placed a demiurgic heroine in the space of comedy and tried to humanize her. The results of the study show that A. Simukov reflected in his work the changes that occurred in connection with the women's issue in the public consciousness, and in the psychologization of images he was in many ways the forerunner of the new wave playwrights.","PeriodicalId":508324,"journal":{"name":"Philology. Thus, the article presents the features of the representation of values formed through linguistic assessments in the discourse of a travel service provider and in the discourse of a consumer of a tourist product.
