Materials and method: a scoping review using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) strategy for the presentation of data referring to the reasons for treatment non-adherence or abandonment among adolescents and young people living with HIV/AIDS. Seven information sources were used to search for the articles, namely: Medline via PubMed, Web of Science, LILACS, CINAHL, BDEnf, Scopus, and Embase, without a time frame and with the following search strategy: “patient dropouts” OR “abandonment” OR “lack of medication adherence” AND “adolescent” OR “young adult” AND “Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome” OR “HIV” AND “antiretroviral therapy highly active” OR “medication adherence.” Results: eight articles were included in the study, contemplating the reasons for treatment non-adherence or abandonment, which were related to access to health services, sociodemographic, structural, psychosocial and behavioral conditions, and factors associated with the disease or the medication. Conclusions: the findings of this study evidenced how vulnerable adolescents and young people are to the issues inherent to HIV/AIDS treatment and that several reasons can influence its non-adherence or abandonment.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48454313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objective: The paper is a report analyses of data from a Roy Adaptation Model-guided pilot study of women’s and their male partners’ adaptation to high-risk childbearing and thereby extends a preliminary situation-specific theory of adaptation to high-risk childbearing. Materials and methods: A previous paper was a comprehensive report of the results of the pilot study except for psychological state, measured by the Multiple Affect Adjective Checklist-Revised. The additional data analyses reported in this paper are for effect sizes of correlations between the Multiple Affect Adjective Checklist-Revised subscales and maternal and paternal functional status inventories. Results: Correlations of small (r = 0.1), medium (r = 0.3), and large (r = 0.5) effect sizes were found for the measures of psychological state and functional status for both women and their male partners except for psychological state positive affect and maternal functional status during the postpartum, and psychological state anxiety and paternal functional status during the postpartum. Conclusions: Overall, no substantial differences were found in psychological state and functional status for women and their male partners during pregnancy and the postpartum. The findings of this secondary data analysis constitute an extension of the preliminary situation-specific theory reported in a previously published paper.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45688639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material and methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 170 low-income family caregivers of people with chronic diseases who answered a survey on sociodemographic and care variables, in addition to the Zarit scale to measure burden and the MOS questionnaire on perceived social support. The analysis was performed using descriptive and differential statistics. Results: Most caregivers were female, and the predominant kinship was father-son. A significant and negative correlation (rs = -.307, p < 0.001) was identified between the caregivers’ burden and perceived social support, as well as a significant and positive correlation (rs = 0.278, p < 0.01) between the time devoted to care and the caregivers’ burden. Conclusions: Low-income family caregivers require more social support to reduce the burden levels.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49356251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and methods: This methodological study followed an online course’s literature search, development, and validation steps. A total of 22 specialists participated in the validation step, and the content validity index (CVI) was used. Fifty-one Physical Therapy students (target audience) also participated in the Suitability Assessment of Materials. Results: The synthesis reached in the integrative review provided the basis for the course’s theoretical content, which was regarded as suitable by the specialists regarding its content, language, presentation, stimulation/motivation, and cultural adequacy (CVI = 0.99). The target audience considered the course organized, easily understandable, engaging, and motivational, with a positive response index ranging from 84.3 % to 100 %. Conclusions: The Brazilian version of the online course was considered sufficiently adequate in content and interface quality by both specialists and the target audience.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46524506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and methods: This scoping review was carried out following the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute in six databases, namely: LILACS, MEDLINE, WoS, Embase, CINAHL, and Scopus, in addition to a bibliographic repository. A total of 3,076 studies were found, from which 12 were selected. Results: The contributions mentioned by the studies regarding advanced practice nursing were divided into three subcategories, as follows: care, educational or management, and preventive practices. They concern autonomy, specialized clinical skills, therapeutic counseling, and patient-centered interaction. Some strategies to implement advanced practice are related to continuing education, practice management, self-care, and disease management. Conclusions: There is a need to improve strategies for advanced practice nursing, especially in primary care, to address gaps in specialized care, the development of indicators, and therapeutic objectives.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43208907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: This quantitative, cross-sectional, analytical study was conducted in the inpatient units of a university hospital in southern Brazil, with the participation of 162 nursing professionals. For data collection, socio-biographical and occupational forms, the Stress-Symptom Scale, the Workplace Stress Scale, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory were used. The data were analyzed based on descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Nursing professionals have moderate levels of state-trait anxiety. There is a positive correlation between state-trait anxiety scores, stress scores, and stress dimensions (rho = 0.811, p < 0.001). “Trait” anxiety is associated with years of experience in nursing (PR 0.97) and psychic-mental health follow-up (PR 1.97). “State” anxiety is associated with sex (PR 0.54), education (PR 2.26), and hours of sleep (PR 0.92). Conclusions: “State” anxiety is associated with sex, age, higher education level, and psychic-mental health follow-up; however, years of experience in nursing and hours of sleep were found to be protective factors.","PeriodicalId":50736,"journal":{"name":"Aquichan","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42437533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and methods: This qualitative exploratory-descriptive study was conducted between December 2020 and March 2021. The study corpus consisted of 23 healthcare professionals from southern Brazil. Data were collected using a semi-structured script and coded based on Minayo’s thematic content analysis proposed. Results: Data analysis enabled the delimitation of two thematic categories: “best practices in maternal and child health: from idealization to accomplishment” and “strategies to qualify the maternal and child healthcare network.” Conclusions: Healthcare professionals recognize the relevance of best practices in maternal and child health, although this process must be expanded and consolidated.
