This study explores the intersection of AI-driven language learning platforms and the preservation of academic writing integrity within evolving intelligent interfaces.Initially, the study examines the functionalities of AI-driven language learning tools, emphasizing their ability to personalize learning experiences, provide immediate feedback, and optimize language acquisition processes. These platforms leverage machine learning algorithms to analyze learner data, enabling tailored content delivery and proficiency assessment.However, alongside these benefits, critical concerns arise regarding academic integrity, particularly concerning writing proficiency and originality. As AI tools enhance students' writing capabilities, the risk of plagiarism and ethical lapses escalates. The study investigates strategies for cultivating ethical writing practices amid the prevalence of AI-guided composition tools.Furthermore, the emergence of intelligent interfaces has broader implications for educational paradigms. Integrating AI into language learning necessitates a reevaluation of pedagogical methodologies to ensure a balanced approach that emphasizes skill development alongside ethical awareness.Drawing upon academic literature, case studies, and theoretical frameworks, this study analyzes the dual impact of AI on language learning and academic integrity. It underscores the necessity for collaboration among educators, policymakers, and technology developers to establish ethical guidelines and educational frameworks that leverage AI's potential while upholding academic rigor and integrity.This study advocates for a holistic approach to AI-driven language learning that emphasizes responsible technology implementation and fosters a culture of ethical writing practices alongside linguistic proficiency. By addressing these considerations, stakeholders can navigate the evolving educational landscape in the era of intelligent interfaces effectively and responsibly.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"18 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141802989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also this study has investigated the relationship between teachers’ autonomy and their classroom management strategies. In other words, this study investigated the relationship between the level of teacher autonomy and the effectiveness of classroom management. Secondly, is there a relationship between teachers' classroom management and their level of autonomy based on their work experience? Also, the study wants to see if teachers' autonomy and years of teaching experience could predict their classroom management? And which of them is a predictor of their classroom management, teacher autonomy or teacher years of teaching? The participants of the study are 54 EFL teachers, working at grade 7-12, teaching at some high schools in Arak city. Most of the participants are BA and MA holders ranging in their year of experience from 2 to30. Two questionnaires are used in this research, Instructional management scale adapted from Martin and Sass (2015) to measure classroom management strategies and teacher work autonomy scale developed by Friedman (2005) to measure teacher autonomy. Pearson correlation method, linear regression analysis as well as Kendall correlation are used to analyze the research data. The study findings show that the classroom management strategies of English teachers are influenced by their autonomy. The findings also revealed that there was no relationship between teachers' classroom management strategies and their teaching experiences. Furthermore, the results indicated that teacher autonomy is a good predictor of classroom management.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"19 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141802847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is to examine and analyze the characteristics of the translation strategies used by Howard Goldblatt in his translation The Song of King Gesar, which reflects the unique culture of Chinese ethnic minorities, in order to provide a academic perspective combining qualitative and quantitative research on the translation strategies of culture-loaded words, so as to make a modest contribution to the promotion of linguistic and cultural exchanges between China and the West. According to Nida’s classification criteria of cultural types, culture-loaded words can be divided into five major categories: “economic culture-loaded word, material culture-loaded word, social culture-loaded word, religious culture-loaded word, linguistic culture-loaded word”. At present, most of the studies on the translation methods of culture-loaded words adopt the method of qualitative research, namely analyzing the translation methods of individual translation cases in the research object according to the theory. Therefore, this paper adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to study the culture-loaded words in The Song of King Gesar based on the corpus.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"11 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141815274","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

News language, as the main carrier of disseminating information, has a distinct social and cultural nature. Since the period of the nuclear-contaminated water discharge, all kinds of news have emerged, which has research value. At present, the research on \"nuclear-contaminated water discharge\" is in the initial stage, and the research combined with linguistics is rare. In this paper, we take the attitude perspective of the appraisal theory as the theoretical analysis framework, select the related reports of China Daily and BBC as the research corpus, and use the qualitative methods to conduct a comparative analysis to explore the differences in the attitudes and views of the two. The study found that, firstly, there are very rich attitude resources in both news reports, among which appreciation resources are used the most. Second, the use of attitudinal resources in both news reports reflects that different media's evaluations and attitudes toward the same event are influenced by their positions and interests.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"119 49","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141820937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

English is a part of the Indo-European while Chinese belongs to Han-Tibetan languages. They have different historical development trajectories and choose different written systems. English and Chinese are both important representatives of Eastern and Western cultures. If you conduct comparative study of these two languages, it is helpful to understand the essential features of the language and reveal the deep structure of the Eastern and Western cultures. Studying gender discrimination in English and Chinese languages comprehensively and systematically, which is contrasting the similarities and differences between languages and cultures of English and Chinese, can provide a reference for understanding language, culture, thinking and national psychology. It can also improve the understanding of languages and cultures.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"80 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141643057","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper reviews the research on identity construction in academic writing among EFL writers published in key applied linguistics journals between 2000 and 2024, and summarizes the current research status of writer identity construction in academic writing and delves into the characteristics and influencing factors of identity construction. Through in-depth analysis of the theoretical framework and the characteristics of the EFL writers, we have selected representative papers, including empirical studies, theoretical discussions, and case studies, to ensure the comprehensiveness and accuracy of this review.The study found that the construction of writer identity in academic writing is a complex and multifaceted process. It is not only influenced by the English language proficiency of the writer but also by a combination of factors such as individual experiences, academic background, and sociocultural factors. These factors collectively shape the writer’s identity and recognition by others in the academic community, thereby affecting their status and influence in the academic field. This paper aims to provide valuable references and inspirations for future research on academic writing and writer identity construction.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"64 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141643649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It finds that China Daily's news reports on the Belt and Road involve material processes (59.8%)> verbal processes (19.5%) >mental processes (12.6%)>relational processes (6.6%)> existential processes (1.5%). Reuters’ news reports on the Belt and Road involve material processes (52.1%)>verbal processes (26.1%)>relational processes (16.1%), existential processes (3.8%)>mental processes (1.9%). The use of transitivity in the China Daily constructs an ecological image that is committed to rejecting political struggles, and pursuing peaceful and green development. In contrast, Reuters’s use of transitivity constructs an ecological image that pursues green development, but with an arrogant posture. The reason for the difference is that China Daily is influenced by the Chinese government’s ideology and political aims, while Reuters is influenced by Western values and strategic considerations of China's threat.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"9 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141648418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It plays an indelible role in the development of Chinese social culture. The Book of Songs not only boasts rhythm in reading, but also has a good effect in meaning expression and rhetoric. Taking the translation of The Book of Songs as an example, this thesis focuses on the study of aesthetic features in Xu Yuanchong’s translation from the perspective of Translation Aesthetics, and analyzes the translation aesthetic principles embodied in the translation cases. Poetry translation can be concluded that it not only requires accurate language, but also needs aesthetic features. Therefore, the translator should analyze the aesthetic features of the original poem before translating the poem, namely the beauty of meaning, sound and form. At the same time, the translator should give full play to his creative ability, and seek for the harmony and unity of meaning, sound and form on the basis of the original text, so as to make the translated poem equal to the original poem in aesthetic function.","PeriodicalId":507147,"journal":{"name":"English Language Teaching and Linguistics Studies","volume":"60 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141651814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
